April O'Neil.

The one person who could foil every plan he could conceive.

The one person who, no matter how hard he tried, could evade his grasp.

The one person he really needed to kill.

The door opened and closed behind him.

"Master," a voice said, and a rustle of fabric revealed that the voice was kneeling.

"What do you want?" His voice was harsh, but he really was curious.

"The girl you told us to investigate..."

"Yes? What about her?"

"She isn't the only one."

Shredder waited.

The voice waited, unsure of his Master's reaction. Then he continued. "She has a brother."

Riley O'Neil slammed the door to his apartment and flopped down on the couch. His roommate and best friend, Isaac, had music on and some windows up, letting the warm New York City air mix with the lyrics to Beyond the Sea that were floating lazily through the living space.

The apartment consisted of a living room, a kitchen, a bedroom, two full bathrooms, and a terrace next to the fire escape.

"Hey," Isaac's voice made Riley raise his head up just enough to look at him. "Another tough day, huh?" He was suppressing a laugh.

Riley grinned but replied, "don't even laugh about it. I practically got fired."

"Talk your way out of it?" Isaac asked as the song changed and a car honked angrily on the streets seven stories below.

Riley nodded ruefully as his phone buzzed. It was his sister, April.

"Hey Ape," I answered.

"Don't call me that," April laughed. I chuckled.

"So what's up?" I followed Isaac into the kitchen.

"Are you serious?" April sounded half shocked, half amused.

"What?"

April took a deep breath. "Happy birthday to you..."

I facepalmed as April continued into the second verse. How does someone forget their own birthday??

"Happy birthday dear Riley, Happy birthday to you!" April finished.

I smiled as I grabbed a cream soda from the cabinet. "Thanks April. Sorry, I've just had a - a, uh, tough day."

"Mr. Crouchen?" She asked, referring to my boss.

"Yep," I emphasized the syllable and cracked the soda open.

"Mm. I'm sorry." April said.

"Not your fault." I mumbled.

"Oh, Riley?" Isaac interrupted.

"Hang on, Ape." I tilted the phone away from my mouth. "What's up?"

"You should probably know -"

"Hey Isaac, I gotta jump. See you tomorrow for Panera?" A voice came from the hall that led to the bathrooms and bedroom.

"Oh God," I sighed under my breath.

"Okay, I'll see you." Isaac hugged the girl that walked into our kitchen. "Bye."

The girl walked out and the door shut.

I gave Isaac my I'm waiting look.

"Riley?" April spoke on the other line.

"So that was Elisa." Isaac said. "I met her in Central Park yesterday, and we talked, and I really like her."

"So she just came over? And you decided to surprise me with the woman in our bathroom?"

"Well you forgot your own birthday." Isaac retorted.

"You're suffocating me." I grinned. I was fine with Isaac bringing his girlfriends home, but it got a little frustrating when I had to be surprised.

"April?" I returned to the phone call.

"Isaac brought home another girl?" April snickered.

"As usual," I sighed and took another sip of soda.

"Very nice," she laughed. "Listen, I've gotta get going. But happy birthday."

"Thanks Ape."

"April."

"Never." I grinned and April hung up.

I returned my phone to my pocket and looked at Isaac expectantly.

"What?"

"Your turn to microwave dinner." I said.

"Easy Mac again?"

"Just make dinner."

Ok so that's all I got before I realized that my characters are supposed to be 15. :I So you can tell I want to start over with a slightly different plot, but I'm proud of what I got because I wrote all this in about an hour, just because I started writing on a keyboard. But I think I am going to try a more teenage-ish style of plot though, because I'd prefer to make it more like the show rather than the 2014 movie (perhaps maybe parts of the 1990 movies though ;)
