A tossed salad with a lawnmower?

You simply can’t make a tossed salad with a lawnmower

Though the idea did seem like fun

Especially with a large crowd to feed

And little time to get it done

Instead of all the chopping and dicing

And shredding and washing and such

I came up with a much faster way

But keep this secret hush hush

Just get your trusty lawnmower 

And turn it upside down

Clean it up a little bit

Especially the old grass and dried ground

Now get all the fixings

The carrots and radish and peas

The tomatoes, lettuce and spinach

Cucumbers, peppers and zucchini

Put them all in the lawnmower

Looks like a giant blender bowl

Grab hold the trusty pull cord

Give it a yank and let it go

Mmmmmmmm

It seemed like a good idea

And it did work kinda, but not very good

It certainly chopped and tossed everything

All over the garden and neighbourhood

I was hoping the wife didn't see me

Raking the salad off the lawn

She did and then she yelled at me

“TO THE SUPERMARKET… YOU … BE GONE”

Well the lawnmower salad didn't work

But the idea is not dead

I think the gas powered one was too powerful

Next time…

an electric one instead
