Mother Nature grants us peace,
makes sure to keep the lurking creatures
in the shadows, away
from the life we had.
But we both knew Mother Nature would one
day reveal the truth.

Oh, what was the truth?
There would never be peace,
She would choose which one
of us would be dancing with the creature,
when what we once had
would dissolve because of Her desire to take the loved away.

Sometimes I say you were never away,
but I know I just say that because I can't bear the truth.
You act on instinct, you told me you just had
to go. But really, you just wanted to grant me peace.
But how did that turn out? Now the creature
just lurks closer than ever, knowing I'm just one.

I told you this would happen, and you were the one
to leave. I told you I wouldn't be taken away,
that you were acting foolish, couldn't you see the creature
right there? I told you the truth.
It's your fault I won't ever have peace.
What was it we had?

I swear Mother Nature is toying with me, what we had
was nothing. She makes me dance, reminds me I'm one,
not two. You were never here. She's leading me to peace,
just like how she led you away.

It is a very nice creature.

I never knew that the creature,
so kind, could show me what we never had.
It showed me everything, the truth
behind all your lies. Is that why I'm the one?
You deserved to be taken away.
Now I've been granted peace.

Peace is not as great as what we once had.
