Chapter 4: Feelings and Lies

1 Month Later...

By the time the 'Krew' - that was what they were gonna call their group name from now on - got a call from the same director to reprise their roles on the Babies series, they had already moved in together in a decent apartment.

Julia had wanted to join them but her parents - Mr and Mrs Nemara were really kind people when the Krew called them with Julia - didn't allow her to move into an apartment with her friends at such a young age. Her parents limited her actions until she was, at least, 15 years old. Only then will she be allowed to move in with her friends.

For reasons that she did not share with her friends, Funneh obviously agreed to move in with her friends as soon as she was offered it. Gold and Draco asked her if her parents allowed but she just said...

"Uh, yeah! I, um, called them last night and they, uh, gave me permission... To move in with you guys. Yeah..."

That was what she told her friends, even though it was a total lie. But she was a really great actress. Even if that wasn't scripted or even if she had thought to say that last minute, she still pulled it off with a calm, normal face and she said it without a stutter.

Gold and Draco said that they also got permission from their parents to do what they're doing so they were pretty much allowed too. Though Funneh did get suspicious when they wouldn't say their parents. During that part of the conversation, Draco just looked blank and Gold looked unsure.

Funneh had no idea what their facial expressions meant so she just decided to drop the topic since Draco and Gold looked uncomfortable with talking about it. She asked them what apartment they were moving into and Gold was the one who answered.

"We are moving into a luxury apartment at 75 Broadway Avenue. I got recommendations from my m- friend. And she said it was indeed luxurious and she had enjoyed her stay there so far," Gold smiled, but it seemed forced.

Funneh bit her lip, feeling guilty for pressuring two of her best friends into talking about something they clearly did not want to talk about. She wanted to apologize but now didn't seem like a good time.

Draco spoke up, "And who's this friend of yours? From what I've noticed, you have loads of friends, Gold. Am I intruding to ask?" He raised a brow.

The sudden change of atmosphere - from calm and playful to serious and tense - was not comfortable for the blue-haired girl at all. It was weird.

They were currently in Gold's VIP room at their audition hotel. They finally flew back to Canada a week after the press tours in America ended and were currently packing up all their belongings to move to Toronto and into the apartment.

The apartment was being paid by all three of them, putting their money together so that they wouldn't go broke, though going broke was very unlikely. Just this one season gave them enough money to pay their apartment rent for as long as 3 years.

Putting her hair accessories in her golden suitcase, she huffed quietly, "Van McKinzy. Yumi Van Mckinzy. Though, she's more known as 'Yandere' all throughout her acting career," She replied coldly, "Why they call her Yandere, I will never know- 'cause she is such a sweetheart and is nothing like a yandere."

"Yumi... I haven't met her yet. Gotta admit, she isn't a yandere in real life but she does play a lot of yanderes in movies and TV shows for such a young girl," Draco murmured loud enough for everyone to hear.

Funneh hadn't spoken up at all after accidentally creating the most awkward and cold atmosphere ever since she's met these people. But because she was curious, she asked, "Yumi? I think I've heard of her... My dad forced me- Ah, invited me to watch one of her horror movies and, as scary and traumatic for me as it was, she was really good at portraying her character."

Gold's lip twitched up into a genuine smile - though her eyes stayed glued on her suitcases, "She's emotional. She feels her character from the inside and out. It's as if she becomes her character when she's acting," She sighed, "I envy her skill sometimes. She's just so good that I just wanna become her!"

"Aw, come on, Gold," Draco started, a small smile taking over his facial features, "You're also an amazing actress for your age. I'm sure you'll become just as good as her when you grow up, LeChan," He grinned.

"You're not so bad yourself, Phauro," Gold teased back, smirking at the dragon boy.

"How old is Van McKinzy?" Funneh cut in with a curious brow.

Gold and Draco FINALLY looked up at her. A few seconds later, Gold looked back down at her possessions and said, "8. She's 8 years old and she's gonna be 9 this year," She shook her head, "Honestly, I'm surprised that Yandere didn't even audition for this series. She usually always, and I mean always, auditions for every show and movie that she comes across."

Draco shrugged his shoulders, "Maybe she wasn't interested."

"Maybe..." Gold mumbled, a frown replacing her smile.

When Funneh finished packing her items, she dragged all her suitcases to the front door and waited for her friends. She frowned when she saw that both Gold and Draco were frowning. They had looked really unhappy and she wished that there was something she could do to bring back their smiles but there wasn't.

That night was a disaster. It was awkward, cold, sad, tense, weird, and every other bad thing that she couldn't think of at the moment. But that was somewhere around a month ago and now, they were happily living their lives in their apartment; no one ever brings up that moving day ever again.

Gold also ended up introducing Funneh and Draco to Yandere who was really nice, as Gold had previously mentioned. She was smart, beautiful, kind, talented, and so much more. Sadly, Yandere had moved to America some time ago due to her profession.

It was kind of sad to see her go because, even though they've only known each other for a few weeks, they had grown to seeing each other every morning and night that it made it hard to let her go.

And if her memory served her right, Yandere mentioned something about working with Pankayz and Zerophyx in a new horror movie. Pan and Zee were also actors and for two 6 year olds, they were talented.

It was currently lunchtime and they were discussing about a phone call that Gold got from their director. Yes, the director had only called Gold but he did ask her to tell both Funneh and Draco too about being asked to reprise their roles.

"You're being serious about this, right, Gold? Like, this isn't funny to joke about. Our director seriously asked us to come back and portray our characters in the next season of Babies again?" Draco asked in astonishment with wide eyes.

Rolling her eyes, "Yes, Draco. I am not kidding with you! I'm serious!" Gold responded.

Draco sighed, slumping his shoulders, "Okay, okay. If you say so, LeChan... But aside from that," He took a moment to take a bite out of his toast before swallowing and saying, "We've got ourselves yet another project, Krew," He smiled.

Funneh practically jumped out of her seat in excitement, "YES! I can't wait to see what adventure the Krew Babies are going on next," She quickly sat back down, taking a sip of her bean soup.

"Oh! Speaking of new adventures... Funneh, can I, um, talk to you for a second? In private?" Gold eyed Draco, causing the boy to raise a brow skeptically.

Funneh followed Draco's eyebrow raise before her eyes widened in realization, "Ohh! Right. Yeah, yeah, yeah. C'mon, let's go to my room and let Draco finish his toast," She smiled sheepishly, hoping Draco didn't know what they were talking about - and he didn't.

Quickly rushing out of the main room - which consisted of the kitchen, dining table, living room area, and a small free space to do whatever, they left Draco there in a confused flurry.

They ran down the short hallway, entered Draco's gigantic bedroom, and shut the door as non-suspiciously as possible. Not that they haven't acted suspicious at all. They probably have already blown their cover with how fishy they had acted just a few minutes ago.

And yes, they said they'd enter Funneh's room but, no, this was about Draco.

Gold took a small peek through the small crack of Draco's door and let out a small sigh, "He didn't follow us. That's good."

"Yeah," Funneh nodded.

"Well," Gold turned back to Funneh, "You bought all the stuff, right?"

Funneh smirked and ran to Draco's king-sized bed, "Yep. I got everything on your list," She got on her hands and knees before crawling under the bed. Gold just slightly crouched down to look at Funneh before the said blue-haired girl came crawling out again.

She jumped up to her feet and used Gold's shoulder to help herself regain balance before she showed the golden girl all the party supplies.

To be more specific, Draco's Birthday party supplies.

"Eee!" Gold squealed, "This is going to be his best birthday ever!" She whisper-yelled to make sure the birthday boy didn't hear her excited yell, "I hope this'll help him with whatever's bothering him," Her smile faltered.

Funneh cocked a brow in curiosity and confusion, "W-What? Something's bothering him?" She frowned, placing the party supplies on the bed and Gold did the same.

The golden girl sat on the edge of the bed and sighed, slumping her posture, "I don't know when it started. I don't know what happened. But before he rose up with fame and wealth... Well, he's an orphan."

The news hit Funneh so hard that it was as if a ton of bricks had fallen on her with no warning. The shock on her face was extremely evident right now.

"Draco's an orphan?!" Funneh yelled in a whisper, clearly shocked.

Gold positioned her pointer finger in front of her lips, "Shh!" She shushed the blue-haired girl, "He doesn't like to talk about his past... All he's ever revealed to me was that he lost his parents to a fire. He was only 4 at the time... Well, he's only ever told me that, and that he has a twin sister who's a few minutes younger than him."

Funneh's eyes darted to Gold when she heard that Draco has a sister. A twin sister at that, "He has a sister?" Her eyes grew wide, and Gold nodded. Funneh looked back down, "What's her name?"

"Mmm. Draco never said it specifically, but he did accidentally mention it once. He ran to his room and cried for the rest of the day when he said it. But he said that her name is," Gold paused, "Draca."

"Pretty name," Funneh mumbled.

2 Months Later...

"FUNNEH LEVOREY! Come on, we're gonna be late for the first shoot! Plus, you still have to go to that screen test of yours for that new film - you don't wanna miss the opportunity to star in a new film like this," Gold shouted as she got her golden purse ready with her essential items.

Funneh's footsteps could be heard moving left and right, all over the place, as the blue-haired girl ran around the apartment to grab her stuff. She yelled back a reply with a pant, "Yeah, yeah! Be right there!" She paused, footsteps stopping as well, "BUT DON'T LEAVE WITHOUT ME! Just, uh, give me a few seconds!"

Gold rolled her eyes and laughed, "Don't worry, we won't leave without you, Fun," She turned to Draco and gave him a light jab, "Right, Draco?"

Draco had his hand over his mouth, which was curled into a smile, "Y-Yeah. Totally, Funs," He chuckled.

"OH, YOU BETTER!" Her reply came back, playful and jokingly but serious.

It made Gold and Draco let out small giggles. They continued to wait for Funneh for another 5 minutes, talking about projects they were working on and were planning to audition for, when something strange appeared... or rather, someone.

"I really wanna audition for this movie, Candyland. If my agent told me this correctly, she said that it was about two little girls who venture through candyland and have fun adventures there. What'dya think? I'm planning on asking Funneh if she wants to audition with me, since it's a duo actresses kinda thing," Gold explained.

Draco nodded, "It sounds interesting. But maybe you should also audition for Christmas Wonderland too. I was gonna audition for a background character but I already decided to audition for Mystic Forests and got the part so yeah."

Gold made an 'oh' with her mouth, "I think my agent also mention a Christmas Wonderland movie to me. Huh, I guess I'll audition for that too," She smiled.

"Heh, cool. But, for me, do you have any movie auditions I could try out for? I'd like to try a horror movie but one that has a kid as the main character, you know what I mean?"

"Most def, Draco. I have a few here on my phone," She grabbed and shook her phone to show it before putting it back in her bag, "But out of all of the ones I was offered, I think you'd do the best in the Haunted trilogy."

Gold was about to explain what the movies were gonna be about when Draco stopped her. He put his hand up in front of her face and she understood that it meant 'stop', "Yeah, yep. I know. Let me guess... It's about a kid who finds himself trapped in a place that used to be a fun place for kids to hang out at, am I right? Or am I right?" He said with a smug smile.

The golden girl giggled, "Yep. You're right. The first one will be a daycare, second will be an amusement park, and last but not least, the third one will be in a neighborhood. It'll be creepy af," She grinned, "I really hope you get the part."

"That sounds perfect. I'll audition for it!"

"Yay!" Gold hugged her best guy friend, "All my wishes that you get the part for this, bro!"

Draco visibly winced when Gold said 'bro' but he managed to hide it from her. Draco, still in Gold's embrace, returned the gesture and, while Gold wasn't able to see his face, he let his face scrunch up in sadness and discomfort.

An image of a face flashed in his eyes. A baby girl, black hair and emerald green eyes, just like his. She was in a house when the place was set on fire. She was heading for the underneath of the table when an explosion boomed across the house. The baby girl was right under the table when a wine bottle fell on her head.

It let out a sound crash and the glass exploded everywhere, but the girl didn't have the energy to think about it as the hard impact on her head put her into a slumber. The next time she woke up, she was in a hospital bed, a small boy with black hair and green eyes right beside her. When he saw her awake, he whispered some inaudible words to her.

That was when Draco came back to life. His ears were ringing inside his head really annoyingly and loud. He could hear Gold's voice calling out to him, but it took a few seconds before he heard a very loud, "DRACO!" Shout in his ears.

He snapped out of it and jerked backward, falling to the floor, crashing into a shoe rack. He let out a pained groan, "Ugh, I-I'm okay," His own voice sounded distorted to himself.

This time, Gold gasped and helped him out of the mess, "Draco! Are you okay?" She asked in concern.

"Y-Yeah, I'm okay," He nodded with his eyes closed, only opening them when his headache disappeared.

"What happened?" The golden girl question with a raised brow.

It took Draco a few seconds to realize that he wasn't answering, but rather, staring into nothing. He shook his head, regretting it when it worsened his headache. He quickly got up to his feet, "I'm fine," He insisted.

"Are you sure-?" Gold tried to put a hand on his forehead to check his temperature when he cut her off angrily.

He practically growled like a real dragon, "I SAID I'M FINE!" He roared at his sis- friend. Gold immediately pulled back, scared. She took a few steps back until her back hit the doorframe. Draco's face instantly changed into guilt when he realized that he had shouted at his sister-like friend.

"I- uh. I-I, um..."

"Gold," Draco started, slowly and carefully approaching her, "I-I'm sorry. I don't know why I yelled at you like that-" He cut himself off with a yelp.

She was confused as to why he yelped so suddenly but understood when she turned around and saw a very big, muscular man who looked incredibly angry, for some reason that they did not know. She screamed and stumbled back.

"Where is she?" He asked.

Gold and Draco took steps back, the dragon boy putting himself in front of Gold, "W-Where is who?"

The man crossed his arms, "My daughter," He answered plainly, "Where is she?"

Draco went from terrified to confused, "Daugh... ter?"

"Yes."

Gold was still hiding behind Draco's back as he said, "I think you must be mistaken, sir. The only people who live in this exact apartment are me, Gold, and Funneh," He placed a hand over Gold's scared figure.

Saying Funneh's name turned out to be a mistake when the man let out a yell, "GAH! I knew it! I tracked her all the way here," He sighed in disappointment, "Funneh... I told her not to call herself that. Ugh! Funneia is so bratty," He grumbled.

As the man barged inside, Draco was quick to follow him and block his path, "Whoa, whoa, whoa, sir! You can't just come into our home uninvited! That's trespassing- you can't do that!" He tried, but failed, to stop the very-much-bigger-than-him man.

The man roughly pushed Draco away to the side and, luckily, Gold caught him before he could crash into another shoe rack. He huffed, "Out of my way, little guy. I need to set things straight with Funneia."

Draco, however, didn't get the clue and continued to try and get the man out of his apartment, "Uh, sir? Please, leave this property immediately before I have to call security. 'Cause this isn't okay," He hesitated but then decided to add, "And by the way, I think you should respect Funneh's choice for her nickname."

That was a mistake because the man fumed when he heard Draco defending Funneh. He swiftly turned around and grabbed Draco by the neck, pushing him up to the wall, "Listen, little guy. I don't know what your deal is with my daughter, but I am still her father and I demand she comes home this INSTANT!" He slightly hardened his grip on Draco's neck when he screamed, making the boy let out a strangled yelp.

The young dragon boy was struggling to breathe at this point, "S-Sir, this is c-c-child abuse," He stopped to take in as much air as he possibly could before continuing, "And I can send you to jail if you continue to do this..." He wheezed, "I don't think your daughter would like to see her dad strangle a close friend of hers," He scowled.

The man didn't let go of his death grip on Draco but he did loosen it so that the young boy was able to breathe again. He just growled at the boy in his hand. The two just kept staring at each other with fury when a certain someone's voice spoke up.

"WAIT!" The man and Draco looked to the side to see Funneh dressed in a blue sundress with blue sandals and a white sunhat. She looked terrified and guilty, "Don't hurt him," She hesitated to say it but she did, "Dad... Stop, please. Let him go. He has nothing to do with this."

Funneh's dad, as she confirmed, widened his eyes and took a while to do so, but eventually, let Draco go. The young boy fell to the floor with a small thud as he spent a whole two minutes catching his breath. Funneh crouched down to him and rubbed soothing circles on his back as she whispered and muttered 'sorry's to him.

"Oh, Draco. I'm sorry. I am so sorry. Ohh, this is all my fault. I'm sorry, I'm sorry."

He just shook his head with a shaky, "I-It's not your fault."

"But it is! Ohh, this is terrible. I'm just," She sighed angrily, "Really, really sorry."

"Again," He rasped out, "Not your fault."

"Ahem," The two kids heard Funneh's dad clear his voice, "May I interrupt this little conversation?"

Funneh scowled at her father, "No. No, you may not."

Her dad scoffed, "Unfortunately for you, that isn't your choice to make," He grabbed Funneh's hand and roughly pulled her with him, dragging her to the door, as she yelped and struggled to escape her dad's firm and painful grip.

"Ow, ow, ow! Dad, stop that! It hurts- OW!" She whined, trying to pry her dad's gigantic hand off of hers.

Again, he scoffed, "Like I said, young lady, this isn't your choice to make!" He yelled, making the girl frown in discomfort.

Funneh still didn't listen and just kept on pulling and whining to her father. At one point, she turned her head to see Draco trying to get up to his feet. Her dad had really did a toll on him, even if it was just a choke.

She saw Draco trying to make a run for them but he collapsed before he could make it too far, sighing and panting. But he did manage to get out a choked, "Funneh!"

To which she responded with, "Draco!"

But alas, it did nothing to help with their situation. As Draco could only watch as his friend was being dragged away against her will, Funneh could only watch as her friend was in pain on the floor, unable to do anything to help or comfort each other.

All hope seemed lost when, literally out of nowhere, security guards barged through the door and shouted, "FREEZE!" At Funneh's dad.

"Don't move! Let go of the child!" The head of security shouted, aiming his gun at him.

Funneh's dad seemed confused, not scared, but when he saw that he was outnumbered, he huffed and roughly threw her daughter towards the security people. They caught her and started flooding her question as to if she was okay.

"Yeah, yeah. I'm fine. But Draco may need help," She said before running to her friend who was still on the ground, "Draco-!"

"DRACO!" A new voice chimed in. One that would've been nice to hear a few minutes ago.

The two kids at the scene of the crime turned to look at the voice with wide eyes, "GOLD!"

As the golden girl ran to them and gave them a big hug, they asked her, "Where did you go?" "Where were you?"

She nodded guiltily, "I know, I know. And I'm sorry! I just had to call our director and our security guards as soon as I saw this guy. I just felt bad news radiating out of him," She broke the hug to face her friends, "And I was right!"

Draco slowly got up with their help, "Heck yeah, you were. He nearly strangled me to death," He panted before showing his neck.

Gold and Funneh winced at how bad his neck looked. Gold placed a hand on his neck and said, "You should get that looked at... I talked with Director Bryant and he said that he'll delay the shooting to next week, andd he knows the director of that new movie you are so gonna get the part of, and he was able to get him to also delay that screen test of yours, Soo, yeah," She smirked.

Funneh smiled really widely that her face was starting to hurt, "Gold, you are the best!" She took her sis-friend in another embrace. Gold just giggled.

"Yeah," Draco chuckled weakly, "You are the best. Thanks, Gold," He smiled.

Their moment was soon ruined when they saw security starting to arrest Funneh's dad. The girl quickly jumped up to her feet, "Wait!" And the security stopped, "Don't arrest him. Just leave him with a warning. He's the only relative I have left and I know he only came here to fetch me, not to hurt my friends."

The head of security seemed extremely hesitant, "Are you sure you want to let him leave unattended? He might try and do this again sometime."

Funneh was about to answer when Director Bryant - her and her friends' director - came walking in the room, "Oh, he wouldn't dare," He said, "Not with Funneh's career on the line," He smirked and winked at the blue-haired girl who beamed in thanks at him.

The blue-haired girl's dad raised a brow, "What career?"

"Her acting career," Director Bryant circled him, "Of course," He revealed smugly, as if it was something he has been craving to do since forever, which he probably did.

"Acting career?" He turned to Funneh, eyes slightly widened. He quickly regained his composure and sighed, "I guess I won't bother you," He frowned while he let the security guard take off his cuffs.

Director Bryant grinned, "Brilliant! You don't disturb them now, okay, champ?" He laughed, "Just go on ahead, skedaddle along out of here."

Funneh's dad looked at her once more as the girl approached her heck of a father, "You don't disturb me, I don't disturb you. But remember, I will be back one day," He whispered and then he left, leaving the young girl with shivers.

Her director must've noticed as he assured her by saying, "Don't worry, young star. After this fiasco happened, I'll be sure to have security guards around this place. To make sure that nothing like this ever happens again. Alright?" Funneh nodded, and he smiled, "There's the girl I know. You rock, star," He put out his fist and Funneh used her own to bump his in a fist-bump, "I'll see you and your friends later."

Funneh raised both her brows and stuttered, "W-Wait! Draco needs medical attention."

"Oh, right! Right! He'll be coming with us. But don't fret, he'll be back before the day's over," He looked over the young blue hair's shoulder, "C'mon, Draco. We'll get that bruise of yours looked at."

He came over to Draco and helped him walk out the door. Draco smiled back at his friends and mouthed, "Thanks."

Gold and Funneh just smiled at him. That day passed by weirdly but Director Bryant kept that promise of his and Draco came back at lunchtime. After Draco was back, none of them talked to each other. They didn't talk about anything but their career that day. Again with the serious and tense mood that Funneh hated.

When nighttime struck, Funneh slept on her bed feeling guilty. Why, you may ask? Well, it's because she let her dad loose, and in doing that, she most likely endangered a bunch of peoples' lives. And it was all because of a selfish reason.

"He's the only relative I have left."

She said earlier today. How selfish. He doesn't even care for her, and yet, she cares for him? Wow, Funneia Katherine LeVorey is such a stupid human being. She endangered lives all because of a stupid reason. It was all for her last family member who didn't even care for her.

He would've been a less of a danger to the world if she had just let him get arrested, but no. She just had to do that.

"I'm a terrible person," She muttered to herself in her pillow.
