The blood. The sickening red on her hands. The blood of the one person she trusted. The blood of the one boy that might not have been related to her but was nothing less than a brother.

No!

LEAVE ME ALONE!

MOM!

PLEASE!

YOU CAN'T LET THEM!

The pain. The pain of the heated knife pressed against her abdomen.

Sophie bolted up with a hand on her chest, her heart pounding.

"You'll be fine. Mila will be fine. The world will be fine," she murmured to reassure herself.

Silence.

"Who am I kidding, the world sucks," she grubpled.

Sophie slipped out of bed and walked to the bathroom. She turned on the water, stripped, and stepped under the warm streams.

The nightmares were a normal occurrence at this point. She had been having them for the past 20 years.

If only...

Nope, she wasn't going THERE

Random question, what the heck are you supposed to have for breakfast? Ever since the whole war thing, she had been living off of mallowmelt and coffee for breakfast (cue the annoying, but awesome, friends saying that's not healthy).

The crescent moon was still high in the sky, it couldn't have been any later then 4. The gentle sounds of her combat boots accompanied her as she walked to the war council room.

A plan. She needed a plan.

Ambush? Break in? Bargain?

Definitely not a bargain, because Lady Gisela would do anything to get her only pyrokinetic after they had killed Fintan, Jessalyn.

Ambush would be to risky, they were already risking so many peoples' lives in this stupid war.

Couldn't the old council have handled one freaking thing and not enslaved a teenage girl to clean up their mess?

Nah, they were incompetent.

Whatever, break in it was.

Time flew by as the sun came up without Sophie noticing.

"So, whatcha doin?" Dex tried.

"Working," Sophie replied, trying to hide her smile. They were so scared it was honestly hilarious.

They all slowly walked in.

"Were going through Mysterium?" Alvar questioned.

"They wouldn't expect it," she responded with a nod.

"What?" Bronte questioned.

Sophie's red lips circled into a smile as she stood up.

"Get ready, we leave in a hour."
