Chapter 13

Another dagger flew from my hand, hitting the target. Then another. Then another. I know this isn't healthy. Bottling up my problems and not telling anyone. But no one else would understand.

My problems are beyond anyone else. I have the weight of the entire Lost Cities on my back.

The painting that Keefe made for me on midterms is on the wall. I felt tears stream down my face.

"You know this isn't healthy Soph," a gentle voice said. Jolie's voice.

Jolie had made it her thing to be the older sister Sophie never had. And it definitely helped # JolieRules.

"I can't Jo. I just can't," I whispered.

Jolie wrapped an arm around me and I sank in.

"You have to. Just remember, you don't have to do it alone. You have me." Jolie said.

"And me." another voice chimed in. Evelyn's.

She wrapped an arm around me, joining the hug.

"You guys are ridiculous," I half giggled half sniffled.

"And that's why you love us," they said in chorus.

" I guess I do," I said.

No matter what happens, I'll always have them.
