"What do we do about Blake?" I asked, pacing the spacious cabin room. Blake lay still on my mattress while Erin and I watched her animated corpse.
She flip-flopped around on my bed, and her back occasionally arched as if she was fighting possession. Antagonizing moans escaped her as she muttered my name countless times.
"Blake! Blake! BLAKE!" Jeremy shook her aggressively, trying to wake a sleeping vampire.
"Jeremy!" Jessica snapped at him. "Leave her alone. She'll wake when she wakes."
"Yeah, Jeremy, geez." Erin put in.
"Is this a witch thing, or is she turning?" I asked.
"What do you bloody think, blue boy?" Jeremy snapped.
"I-I'm sorry," I stuttered. "It was just a question. I'm new to this whole fairytale shit--"
"Were myths and legends, not some weirdo child's fantasy..."
"Sorry," I grumbled. Jeremy scoffed in response before a pillow slammed into his side.
"Stop it, Jeremy," Jessica growled.
"ADAM!" Blake screeched, writhing in pain as her body spasmed again.
"She's fighting it," Erin said.
"What?"
"She's fighting the vampire curse," He said.
"But it's too late. Blake already lost," Jessica added.
"She's already a fledgling...no pulse, cold to the touch. There's nothing left to fight," Jeremy said.
"She's still trying," Erin vied.
"Could she beat it?" I asked them, hoping her effort worked.
"Not a chance," Erin said. "She has to ride it out as Jeremy did."
Jeremy scoffed. "At least the hard part is over."
"What hard part?" I snapped. "She's dead."
"Ehem." Jeremy cleared his throat.
"Undead," I corrected myself. "I don't like this," I said, pacing the cabin again.
"She'll be fine after she wakes up and feeds. In the meantime, Jessica, Erin, and I will help babysit princess Strawberry lips."
I stopped in front of the wall, sinking to the floor. I hoped Blake was okay. Overwhelming guilt dangled over me like mistletoe on Christmas. Still, I prepared myself for anything, especially an angry half-vampire, half-Wiccan at my throat, an angry coven of Wiccans, or a cult of vampires at our door.
"Do you still have those sleeping bags, mate?" Jeremy asked.
"You're digging them out of this closet," Erin countered.
"You're sleeping on that floor too," Jeremy said, his eyes shifting to Jessica.
Jessica scoffed. "Well, look who's the gentleman all of a sudden." Instead of arguing, Jeremy rolled his eyes.
"I'll meet you guys in the lobby to grab some blankets and pillows. Tonight's going to be cold." Erin spoke.
"Were undead, dog boy," Jeremy snapped. Erin grunted and glared at Jeremy before he exited the room.

I stared at the ceiling, wide awake in the night. I couldn't sleep. My stomach urged for blood, craving the sweet and salty taste as if it drew me forward. My hand swooped to the side for a chocolate bar before my eyes bounced to Jeremy and Erin beside me on the floor. Then, my eyes changed to Jessica, sleeping cozily in Erin's bed, before they shot to my comfy bed, where Blake was.
Loud rustling from the kitchen distracted me, and I saw someone standing there with the fridge wide open and a bloodied mess on the floor. My heart pounded as hunger struck my stomach, and I grabbed any piece of chocolate I could find. Then I shook Erin awake.
"Erin, someone here," I growled.
Half asleep, he swatted at me. "You get them," he said.
"Someone is here," I repeated. Another set of footprints sounded. That someone stood right in front of me.
"ADAM?!"
"Blake?!" I asked frantically.
"I woke up hungry for something other than cooked food and came to you for answers since I figured it was your fault," Blake said. I was in deep shit now.
"My fault? MY FAULT?!" I was angry now. "First, I only bit you once and wouldn't have gotten bit if you hadn't let me drink from your cup."
"Alright! I'm up," Jeremy growled, kicking around before his eyes landed on Blake, blood dripping from her fangs. "Good morning, Strawberry lips," He watched her with a grin forming.
"Bite me," she growled at him. Jeremy rolled his eyes.
"Geez. The one time I try to be bloody nice."
"Why do you care?" she asked him.
"I don't," Jeremy snapped back.
"Adam, you're not safe here." She muttered. Her eyes navigated back to mine.
"What do you mean not safe?" I asked, expecting the worst.
"Erin had a vision. I-I can sense it. None of us are safe. Everyone is in trouble with your dad and the king." I also had a vision but was too afraid to say something. What if what I saw was true, and then I released monsters that consumed me? I couldn't take that risk.
All eyes shifted to Erin in the background as Erin wiggled his fingers at us. "She's not wrong. I didn't want to say anything until I was sure it would happen."
"Son of a bitch, Erin," Jessica slammed her fist into his rib. "You could have said something, you big chicken."
"Hey, I am not a chicken. I didn't want to find out I altered time and reality."
Jessica scoffed. "Sure, because it's not like we don't need that right now."
"So, who's telling the bloody king?" Jeremy growled. "Because if dog-boy isn't going to do it, I certainly will."
"Stop with the fucking name-calling already, Jeremy. This place isn't high school where you can act like an ass in front of your jock posse and get away with it. It's real life," Blake growled.
"Besides, he's as much of a dog as Erin is," Jessica added, shrugging.
"I bite," Jeremy snarled.
"I'm sure you do, mutt-boy." Erin took a stab at ridiculing Jeremy but failed miserably.
"Mutt-boy. What the bloody fuck is that?" Jeremy laughed.
"Oh, shut up," Erin snapped at him.
"Fine, you win." Jeremy gave in.
"That's a first," Jessica snorted. "But I guess there are firsts for everything."
"Stop it, Jesse," Jeremy growled. "Or I'll tell Gabriel about your crush—"
"Bite me," She grumbled again. Jeremy laughed at her.
"I'll text him right now."
"You will not."
"Will too," He bantered.
"Ugh!" She roared. "Your such an annoying brat, Jeremy."
"But I know you love it," Jeremy teased. Jessica rolled her eyes and avoided arguing more. We had other more important things to do, such as figuring out who bit me and ceasing the vampire deity. It was a matter of time before I faced my fate too.
