When I look in the mirror on this 31st day of December

My mind gradually starts to remember

All of my experiences & occurrences

Each of the good, bad, & plain out tragic

The trips, dips, and the attacking scars

I have added these as scratches on my brick wall

No this mirror isn't magic

I just see my myself

My reflection

I see, my mind promotes and thinks

Easy.

But this is today

My resolutions are just getting started

Tomorrow on the surprisingly warm first day of January

Once I look into the mirror

I will see urgency

Confidence

Devotion

Emotion

Determination

And a smile

That will glow for miles

With assurance that I will be

The best me that I can be

Yet that is just what my mirror shows me
