" So what about Kartik?" I asked quietly

Jack looked here and there to check if someone's coming, everyone else was sleeping soundly, Jack and I were on guard

" When we reached the mansion, we saw some guards entering it, so Tristan asked me to hide the body and then he went away" he said, guilt visible in his eyes

I looked at him and took a deep breath

" If only I would've entered with him" he said with guilt filled voice

" You would've also been caught then like us or dead like Kartik" I chuckled dryly, fate is a twisted thing

" I'm not so sure about Kartik, because when I saw them carrying your unconscious bodies, I ran " he said not meeting my eyes

" And it's a good thing, for the first time you actually did something right" came Tristan's voice from behind

He slowly got up from his position and sat beside Jack

" I thought Kartik was also caught, until you guys told me he was not" he said tears starting to run down his cheeks

I can't bear this, if Kartik is alive then where the hell is he? , What if he's dead and we're just getting our hopes up for nothing, I decided to step out from the building but Jack stopped me.

" You don't wanna step out right now" he warned and patted the spot beside him where I was earlier sitting

" Why?" I asked

" I don't even know where to get started" he chuckled

" Well you better, cuz I'm getting restless" suddenly Catherine whispered, peeping her head between us, her jet black hair were covering her face, so she was kinda looking scary ok the moonlight

" Ok ok, no need to scare me" Jack said while keeping a hand on his chest

" Drama queen" we all said in unison to Jack and he just rolled his eyes

" This virus has many forms, nobody knows where it came from, but for to stop spreading it, you gotta kill the person who has it, the virus can effect someone in many ways" he explained

" Like?" Catherine asked

" It can kill you, instantly or slowly, it can make you go mental or as we say zombie" Jack explained

" Zombies?, Are you kidding me" Tristan tried to form a smile but when he saw Jack's serious face, Tristan's smile also faded away

" Yes, not many are spotted" Jack said

" I knew that the virus can kill anyone" I said, that was the only problem, but if this zombie thing is real, then we're in a bigger problem

" There's one more thing" he said

" When I was with a survivor group, they said that the virus is evolving, like first it killed people instantly but then it evolved and gave people a slow torturous death, and now these zombies, the person is alive yet dead" Jack explained further

" It's like the virus is trying to find new methods to kill people" I said quietly

" More like painful and torturous" Catherine whispered but we all heard it

" So where's your survivor group, that you just told us about?" Tristan asked

" Dead, by the virus, or the zombies" Jack said staring at nothing in particular

" So what are we going to do?" Catherine asked

" I've heard in the medical department, that there was some breach in the Virtual World, do you know about it?" I asked Jack

" Ya there are rumours, but nobody actually escaped it" Jack said

" Then we'll try to find it" Tristan said standing up

" We will?" Catherine asked

" Well if you wanna stay here and fight off those scary zombies by yourself then...." Tristan made a teasing face at Catherine

" I was just asking" she shouted

" Ofcourse" Tristan said in a mocking tone
