When you left me for dead
You are  no longer sappy
You let my demons get to my head

You said you would protect me
From the evils of the world
You showed me how beautiful life could be
You made me feel like more than just a girl

But then you up and left
You left me as I was crying
Without a trace of regret
You made me feel as if I was dying

Your words carved with a knife 
But I was already dead when we met
You brought me back to life
Just to leave me with a feeling that I wish to forget

You still have my heart that you stole
And this pains me to say
The demons swallowed me whole
