I walked out of the Firehouse with my shift bag that contains all of my personal belongings from my locker completely unnoticed. I took in the sight of all the trucks there, but when I started walking in the direction to head to my car, I looked up to see Mark standing by the street with what looks to be an overnight bag and a backpack. We stood there for what felt like forever, even though it was only a couple of minutes, admiring each other. As if we were thinking the same thing, we walked up to each other and met in the middle, dropped our bags, and finally kissed. It didn't take long for either one of us to kiss back. I felt his hands travel from my waist down to the back of my thighs and I knew what he wanted me to do. I jumped up and he caught me making me wrap my legs around his waist as we broke the kiss for air as we laughed and gave each other the biggest hug. He let me down as we just smiled at each other as he held my hand.

Melissa: <chuckles> I guess we have a lot to talk about, don't we?
Mark: <laughs> Yeah I guess we do.
Melissa: Well, come on then, I know where we can go.
Mark: What about your fiancé and shift?
Melissa: Don't you mean ex-fiancé and as for shift I quit, so you are looking at the new guitarist for your band.
Mark: <laughs in happiness as he picks up Melissa for a hug and spins her around> Oh you have no idea how awesome this will be.
Melissa: Neither can I, now let's go before someone sees us.
Mark: Yeah good thinking.

With that said Mark and I got in my car and headed for my house so that way we can talk about some stuff. We talked about everything ranging from what this means to the both of us to me moving to Nashville to live with him. I mean yeah you all may think that we are rushing the relationship, but with Mark and I it's different we've been best friends for years and sometimes I'd sleep over with Mark and have fun so we really didn't see a problem with moving in right a way. After we finished talking, he helped me pack up my stuff since I'm moving in with Mark and we decided to leave early the next morning so that way we won't get caught by Kelly.

The next morning, Mark and I woke up around 5 in the morning and were on the road by 6:30 since it's going to be a long day of driving. The drive was filled with us catching up, I told him all about yesterday before he showed up, and us reminiscing on the past. While Mark and I were on the road we called Dana to plan a surprise for Brandon and when Dana would go to pick up Jimmy and Brandon from school he'd leave the spare key under the mat so that way Mark and I could go in. We finally arrived in Nashville around 3 o'clock, and arrived at Dana's house to surprise and pick up Brandon. We unlocked the front door and got everything set to surprise Brandon seeing as Dana would be bringing Brandon and Jimmy home from school very soon. I hid in the guest bathroom close to the living room when I heard the door open and Brandon's 6 year old voice.

Brandon: Dad!!! <he yells as Mark picks him up to hug him>
Mark: Hey buddy <he says as he hugs Brandon tight> did you behave for Uncle Dana?
Brandon: Yeah, how did it go with Aunt Melissa?
Mark: Well, why don't you ask her yourself?

I came out of the bathroom where I was in plain sight for Brandon to see me. Brandon turns around, yells out "Aunt Melissa" as he runs to me, I squat down to his level as he gave me the biggest hug tackling me to the ground as we all laughed. With a little help from Mark, I finally got up still holding Brandon as Mark and I sat down on the couch with Brandon sitting on my lap while Dana and Jimmy gave us some privacy.

Brandon: So, Aunt Mel, how did it go with dad?
Melissa: Well, your dad surprised me while I was at work and we just let out feelings for each other out and now it's safe to say that your dad and I are happy that we have finally figured everything out but, I think your dad has a question to ask you.
Brandon: Okay. <he looks at Mark>
Mark: So, since Mel and I are together, how would you feel if Mel were to live with us?
Brandon: Really?! <he says excitedly>
Mark and Melissa: Yeah.
Brandon: It'd be so cool for Mel to live with us.
Mark: Okay, why don't you go get Jimmy and see if he wants to help you pack, while Mel and I talk to uncle Dana.
Brandon: Okay.

With that said he asked Jimmy, and they went up to Jimmy's room to pack while Mark and I went to the kitchen to talk to Dana. I gave Dana the biggest hug as a way to thank him for the advice and everything he's done.

Dana: Well, look at you two lovebirds finally together after all these years.
Mark: Yeah, it actually didn't go as bad as I would've thought, but everything worked out great.
Melissa: Yeah and he actually timed it perfectly just as I turned in a form I needed to fill out to quit the department, I had already packed up my personal stuff from my locker and left completely unnoticed, and it just felt like a scene from a movie.
Dana: Awww that sounds romantic.
Melissa: Hey you know what we should do?
Dana and Mark: What?
Melissa: How 'bout one of us FaceTimes Blas and tell him about Mark and I?
Mark: Let's do it. <Mark and Mel look at Dana with pleading eyes>
Dana: Fine.

Dana pulls out his phone and dials Blas' number, he answers on the second ring.

Video call: Blas
Blas: Hey Dana, how's it going?
Dana: Hey, I'm doing good, are you busy?
Blas: Nope just chilling with the family, what's up?
Dana: Well, there's two people who want to say 'hi'. <he flips the camera around>
Mark and Melissa: Hey Blas.
Blas: Hey hey, what's going on you two?
Melissa: Well, I quit the CFD yesterday, along with dumping my fiancé, and decided on a new career path because you are looking at the new guitarist for the band.
Blas: Wow, sounds like you've had an interesting few days.
Mark: Oh she has. <he says as he and Melissa interlace their fingers as a hint to Blas>
Blas: Wait a minute, are you serious, you two finally got together, after all these years?
Melissa: Yes we did and it was actually so romantic because he had the perfect timing it was just as I quit the CFD and there he was and everything just felt like a scene from a movie.
Blas: Wow, that is amazing, I'm happy for you two and I know Tim would be happy for you two too if he was here.
Mark: Alright as much as we'd love to stay and chat, but it's been a long day of driving so we're gonna head home.
Blas: Alright later you two, later Dana.
Melissa, Mark, and Dana: Later
End Video Call

When we ended the call with Blas, Brandon was all ready to go home. We left Dana's house and left to go back to our own home. Once back home Brandon went to his room to do his homework, while Mark helped me unpack my stuff from my car and get everything settled in. We decided to order pizza for dinner and have a family movie night. By 10:00, Brandon was fast asleep in my arms, Mark let me tuck him into bed while he cleaned up. After I tucked Brandon in, I went back out to the living room to see Mark in the kitchen washing the dishes. I snuck up behind him wrapping my arms around his waist and placing a kiss in between his shoulder blades. He turns around and kissed me snaking his arms around my waist, we pulled away and stayed like that for what felt like forever. I know one thing's for sure is that this is going to be an amazing relationship that will last a lifetime.
