Foolish waste
"So what your saying, no one from earth is just human?" Lance sat with the boy as they waited through the travels.
"I'm sure there are just pure humans but there's also chances of your kind being part of another species, same with your animals or planets," the boy shrugged and Lance looked at his hands curious what could he be? Was he part of the pure human race or did he have another species in his blood? Maybe galra.
"What's your name?" Lance smiled at him.
"Miklo," the boy smiled.
"I'd shake your hand but I can't, but I'm Lance," he nodded kindly as miklo chuckled.
"Don't worry," miklo shrugged. They sat there in silence as Lance stared at the ground with a little fear peaking into his mind.
"Can I ask you something miklo?" Lance asked quietly.
"Of course man," the fellow prisoner nodded.
"What are the chances of me living?" He whispered and miklo frowned now instead of a friendly smile.
"Paladin and all? Not very long..." Miklo sighed and Lance closed his eyes. "You got a girl back at home? Family?"
"Family, I want to go back home to make them proud when they find out what I've done, scare the shit out of my older siblings, cry with my mother, be scowled by my grandma but then be showered in how she's never heard of anything like it... I thought this is something I could really impress them with," he laughed lightly but there was nothing really funny, only for miklo to send him a kind sad smile back.
"It's not going to happen if I'm dead," Lance sighed leaning against the wall.
"It's going to be worth nothing if you just give up before even trying," miklo nudged him and Lance looked at his mix matched eyes and smiled back.
Suddenly the doors opened wide as soldiers poured in and the slaves and prisoners dove out of their way and went to the walls as fast as they could in fear of the galra.
"Paladin," one pointed to Lance who paled so much he looked sick.
Lance was forced to his feet as one grabbed his chain. He looked back seeing miklo's petrified face but sent him a final smile in hope to let him know he's going to try. Miklo closed his eyes looking at the ground while more solders took some other prisoners.
Lance was shove forward as in to move faster while the chain and cuffs where tight he's pretty sure they already scratched him up.
"Where am I going?" Lance asked calmly as he could.
"Silence, it'll be best if you hold your tongue paladin," a guard grabbed his hair as he hissed in lances ear. They walked through large doors as Lance looked to see more galra as they where more soldiers and some generals but there was someone in the throne that wasn't zarkon.
"The paladin sire," Hagar stepped in front of the man in the throne as he stood up and Lance was shoved to his knees and kept his head down. Soon he saw the mans boots near him in front of Hagar.
"The red paladin I assume," a voice smooth as silk and an accent soothing as waters flow finally spoke in front of Hagar.
"The blue paladin sir," she nodded.
"But you captured the red and black lion," the voice disapproved of the witch.
"There's the possibility they switched lions," Hagar growled back.
"A paladin of two lions, that is imposing," the emperor sounded like he was smirking but Lance refused to lift his head to look at the horrid galra.
"What should we do with him prince Lotor?" Hagar asked and lances eyes widen slightly in surprise. Lotor? Oh no... He remembered the gas atmosphere planet they fought him on, or more of running away.
The prince knelt in front of Lance and his finger was placed under lances chin as he was forced to look up. He saw lilac eyes that almost seemed blue over a paler yellow than galra usually have, he had pale purple skin with long white hair trailing down his back. He didn't look evil, he didn't smile but nor did he frown, he looked calm and intrigued as he stared at Lance with no emotion.
"There's no point of harming you paladin if you speak at your will," the prince of the galra spoke calmly releasing lances chin.
"Aren't I suppose to die?" Lance glared weakly.
"In exchange for the champions freedom, that was the deal, you are correct," Lotor nodded shrugging slightly.
"Get on with it then," Lance whispered looking at him in the eyes.
"Why waste potential? Merely because your a paladin? It's foolish to just kill you," Lotor stood up and nodded at the guards. There was silence and hesitance but soon Lance felt his wrists freed.
"May we have a chat blue?" Lotor looked at him.
Lance stared at him with frightened eyes but there was no hostility, rage, nothing to be afraid of in those eyes.
He nodded.
