I had decided to participate in a competition to discover the mysterious realm of the sky.
As soon as I heard "go", I screamed the "fly up" spell. "Volatus Sublimen!"
I felt the magic take hold of me as I was lifted upward. I saw other sorcerers gaining in me and screamed the "slow" spell. "Lentus!"
The sorcerer I had aimed the spell at suddenly decreased speed.
As another contestant arrived, I used the downward spell on her. "Deorsum!"
That's when I felt it, the heat of a fireball.
Oh, someone's is attacking me? Two can play at that game!
"Ignis!" I shouted, pointing at the sorcerer who had tried to burn me.
A fireball headed straight toward him. And I continued to fly upward. As I approached he clouds, I saw one last contestant, a sorceress. Instead of causing her harm, I decided to speed myself up.
"Velocitas!" I screamed at the top of my lungs. And I rocketed upward, ready to discover the realm of the sky.
I heard someone announce my victory just when I emerged above the clouds and discovered the truth.

There is no realm of the sky, I thought, as I fell back down.
