Let's Talk (Levi x Reader Fluff)

Spoiler Alert: If you haven't caught up to season 4, DON'T READ only at your discretion!

'Paradis island is free of wild titans, the people behind the walls free to roam beyond and make homes without fear. Thanks to the scouts. I am proud to witness history in the making, and finally, be relieved of such a weight. Our new allies from ashore have helped flourish our city allowing life to be easier. We have evolved and will continue to do so for who knows how long, but our battle has not yet won. I'm not sure if it ever will, but when it does...I wonder if settling is possible.' You stare at your journal having a lot more to say but felt to be written another time. Instead, the blank half of the page starts to be filled with a sketch of the open range in front of you. A perfect picture to remember today.

"There you are." You jolt from your seat and raise your head to meet your short-stacked boyfriend. "C-captain!" You squeaked. "Relax, we're not on duty." His voice monotoned as ever matching his bored expression. "R-right." You stammered. "Are you writing in your journal again? You can do that at home instead of being out here in the dark where you're bound to get ambushed, ya know?" He scolded. "Oh, is it late already? I hadn't noticed." You sheepishly rub your nape irking man as he lets out his signature "tch" sound. "I'm sorry for making you worry, darling." You failed to notice a light blush dusting his cheeks. Levi isn't the type to let his guard down and be emotional, but with you, his walls manage to lower to some extent. "Come on, let's head home." He grunted.

As the two of you walk in silence, your mind drifts to the old days. You and Hange have been with Levi since the beginning witnessing his hardships and good days. It wasn't until Petra and the other's death did he confess his feelings. He was relieved you had survived during the attack. There was also a bumpy road in the relationship when his caretaker, Kenny, showed up. He was protective of you by keeping you away, but you ended up saving Levi and showing him how strong you can be. A sole survivor just like him yet smiled through the darkest times. Now here you stand, strong with your beloved.

"Honey?" You started. "Things are quite peaceful, aren't they?" Levi quirks a brow, "for the moment." He commented. "Have you enjoyed it besides the diplomacy and crap?" You questioned. "I guess so. The stillness never lasts, unfortunately so don't go thinking everything is fine." He warned to which you frowned. He was absolutely right. You've been in such a position before where there was a time of peace and rest such as training the recruits, yet it frustrates you to the core. "Ok, fair." You sighed. His onyx eyes shift to you. "Why, what's the matter?" You nervously clutch your dress. "It's just that I want to settle down with you. I want to live the rest of my days with you, maybe start a family. After everything we have been through, we deserve it. I want the chance to be your wife, hell make that tea shop you adore." You scoffed. "Somebody has to do the talking. Your presence turns people away." You chuckled.

Levi's gaze softens then shifts to anger and back again. He hasn't had the opportunity to think about it afterward because there didn't seem to be hope until now. Your silence made you insecure not realizing how deep in thought he was. "Never mind, we can forget about it. It's probably not possible and any day might still be our last." You scurried forward entering your cabin home while your sweetheart was left alone.

Around midnight, you gaze out the window in the moonlight night lost in thought. You sighed heavily and turn the other way to face your lover. "Levi, are you up?" You asked. "I never slept." He said. "I was busy thinking about what you said. I didn't mean to upset you with my silence. I just never thought about domestic life because we were fighting titans day in and out. Well...you know." He said matter of fact. "Yeah, I know. That's why I said forget about it."

"But you're right." He admitted, shocking you. "If we can ever find true peace and make it after a war, I don't mind settling down. I'm tired of fighting myself." He turns to look at you. "I want to open my-err our tea shop and spend my retirement with you. As for kids...that's debatable. I don't want brats outgrowing me." You laughed as he clicked his tongue. "I'm so happy!" You hold him close for a deep kiss. "I promise to make you the happiest man in the land." You cooed. "Screw it, why not do me the favor of marrying me?" You gaped for the second time at him. "Wh-what?"

"You heard me. If I make you my wife now then it's a definite promise that you and I will settle down and have that tea shop. One step to making it come true." You were still in a state of shock, flustered even to hear a logical man suddenly leap of faith in a dream? Although it isn't the first time, it was hard enough to convince him of anything. "Y-you're serious?" He scowls at you for even second-guessing him. "Yes, I'm serious. We've gotten far in our relationship without dying." You softly smile at him, "then let us have a small wedding here in our backyard." Levi nods in agreement and blushes, content enough to let his guard down and relax at the moment. His arms wrap around your waist, tightening as he holds you close realizing his precious treasure remains safe in his embrace. He runs his fingers through your hair then kisses your scalp. "I love you, (y/n)...more than you can ever imagine. You're all I have, the only thing that makes me sane throughout this dark world." It's your turn to blush at his sudden sappiness. Your heart races taking in his honey words. They were so sad yet held some truth, and although you wanted to say something, you decided to stay quiet and listen. "I'm glad I joined the scouts and stayed with Irwin and Hange. I never would have known what happiness is without you around."

His nose presses onto your hair, inhaling your scent as he slowly succumbs to sleep. Once you notice his paced breathing, you tip your head up to comb through his suave hair. "I love you too, Levi." You whispered. Before following him to rest, you plant a chaste kiss to his lips then nuzzle into his neck. Nothing but sweet dreams await as you sleep contently.
