Lafayette P.O.V

I heard a loud bang from where we left (Y/N) to sleep, I had fallen asleep for a bit, sees its sunrise. Gets up and goes out to check on her.

I saw her getting pinned down by a redcoat with one at the side, them obviously doing bad things to her. she was screaming and crying for help. I froze for a while, sees her screaming 'no'. everything went silent exept her sobs, I knock on everyones door quickly then goes to the boys restraining them as well as I can getting them away from her.

she was shaking so much, I felt so bad.

all the others came out quickly, they got the boys in better restriction so I ran to (Y/N). I pulled her into a tight hold. She held on to me like a baby. I could feel her shaking. Hamilton and the rest got them out then they came close to us. "who were they?! what did they do laf? (Y/N), who are they, tell us!" Hamilton started getting angry at both of us. I just held her close rocking her as she cried. "shh." I shushed her when she was about to talk. I could tell she was falling asleep in my arms. I picked her up gently making sure not to wake her. "bonne nuit" I said to the boys, Hurc was so confused but the others said night going to there rooms as well as me.

I laid down snuggling her close falling asleep with her.

(Y/N) P.O.V

I woke up in lafs tight arms. what happened last night? last I remember was me on the floor with the red coats.... shit! they got away with doing that! I look around. "bonjour, ma Cheri" laf said smiling at me. my eyes were stinging from the crying last night. "l-laffy, why am I in your bed?" I asked. "you fell asleep clinging onto me like a child so I just took you to my room." he said in his thick French accent, I could tell he didn't sleep well. "I-I'm sorry.." I said guilty, hears someone barge in, sees its Hurc. he was smirking, "Time to get up love birds!" laf laughed. starting to get up. I covered myself remembering I wasn't fully clothed.

the boys went out so I could get dressed, I got back into my full outfit remembering about last night. I go out of his room meeting the other boys. we start walking In silence.

we get to the camp and Alex leads me to Washington talking about him. once we got there he explained the situation while I was just looking down. I could tell general was angry at first but then said "We will give you a chance, don't blow in. she will be staying with you, Laurens, Lafayette and mulligan." he said sternly to me and Hamilton, we both nodded "Thank you so much sir." I saw walking out with ham.

we get to our tent with my stuff, everyone was there smiling. "she is staying with us" Hamilton said for me. everyone cheered. "Lets get a drink to celebrate!" Hurc shouts a little too loud. everyone laughs and nods in agreement. "Wait, I cant... no money." I sigh disappointed. "you four have fun though, I have a few things to do anyway." I smiles. everyone nodded. they walked out leaving me alone with my thoughts, not the best thing to do. I regretted it already.

I had just been writing my thoughts down for hours on hours, I had started getting tired so I put my things away and was about to go to bed when I heard someone shout "get out of the tents! they're on fire!" I started to panic trying to run out as quick as I could the flame caught me badly, people put it out before any real damage could be done.

I wen into the woods trying to find a water area so my hand could cool down. I finally found it but I was lost... shit. I put my hand in the cool water making the heat go away for the time. I sighed at the pain. "hello! who's there!?" I heard a familiar voice call. Hurc and his drunk ass. he stumbled over. he saw me the hugged me. "what are you doing here?" he asked. "I got lost..." I admitted.

I told him about the fire and the tent. he lead me to the camp taking me to our tent. me and the rest were talking for a while until the conversation turned. "So, (Y/N), did you have a crush back home or do?" Laf said in his very drunken state. I blushed dark "No, everyone at home hated me, my family are dead so I don't have anyone to care about or to care for me." I looked down. everyone was shocked. "Well, where do you think you will be going after the wars done." Laurens asked. I hesitated, "I just expect myself to die in war... I haven't thought about after cause I think I will just die in this war plus I have nothing to go back to." I said truthfully, "what about the rest of you?" laf said he was gonna go back to France, Laurens back to south Carolina, Herc back to sewing in his shop and Hamilton didn't know. I felt weird around these men, I felt like I finally fit in. I yawned then I heard laf shout "Bedtime for (Y/N)." everyone laughed including laf who said it. I nodded at laf actually wanting to sleep for once. I was on the floor once more, we all got to sleep.

in the morning it was peaceful after just waking up, I saw there was no Hamilton like normal and laf was gone as well. I yawned getting up. I went out of the tent seeing someone. he was coming close to me, definitely from here. Before he could do anything I went back in the tent, I heard something being shouted, it was the war beginning...
