The first day of school {Revised Version}
Shortly after (Y/n) had given birth to twins, the paladins had helped her, Ulaz and all of their kids move to their dimension where they could live without having to hide from the government. (Y/n's) parents decided to stay where they were since they still had their farm and the rest of their family, so (Y/n), Ulaz and their kids said goodbye to them before they left her home dimension. About three months after the big move (Y/n) and Ulaz were able to get a large house in the countryside along with an SUV after Ulaz got a job at the local hospital as a surgeon, since there were galra living on Earth his expertise would be needed. When the time came, it was Gev, Laz, Mur and Kocho's very first day of preschool. (Y/n) had been a little nervous to enroll them in a local preschool, but she knew that they needed to be around kids their own age and begin their education, not to mention the preschool she and Ulaz chose welcomed children from all over the universe as long as their parents lived on Earth.
As (Y/n) prepared four different lunches, Ulaz was helping their quads get ready for school by dressing them and making sure their hair and teeth were brushed. She made a peanut butter sandwich for Kocho, a peanut butter and jelly sandwich for Mur, two separate ham sandwiches for Laz and Gev and she added fresh grapes in their lunch boxes. The young woman felt a little sad that her and Ulaz’ first four children were old enough to go to preschool, it felt as though the past four years passed by too quickly. Once she finished packing their lunches in their lunch boxes (Y/n) grabbed the four lunch boxes and went to the living room so she could check on the twins. When (Y/n) walked over to the playpen she saw that Zux and Zev were playing with some of their toys, keeping themselves busy.
"Hello you two." (Y/n) cooed sweetly to Zux and Zev when she knelt down and peered into the playpen, beaming sweetly at them.
Zux and Zev heard their mother's voice and babbled as they crawled over to the side of their playpen, sat down and reached their arms up to her, wanting to be picked up in her arms. (Y/n) smiled as she looked at them and promised her two adorable babies that they would get to go on a little trip soon when she and their father took their four older siblings to school. In the meantime, Ulaz helped Laz, Gev, Kocho and Mur get dressed before he took them to the bathroom so they could brush their teeth and he could brush their hair. Their whole family already ate breakfast together earlier that morning, so he knew that they wouldn't be hungry until later. After helping four of his and (Y/n's) six children get ready for the day, he let them walk ahead of him while he followed them to the living room.
"We're ready!" Mur said happily as she ran into the living room.
"No running in the house." (Y/n) responded firmly, reminding one of her daughters not to run inside as she stood up and turned around.
"I'm sorry, Mommy." Mur apologized bashfully after she stopped running, lowering her ears in embarrassment.
Kocho, Gev and Laz entered the living room next followed by their father, although unlike Mur they didn't run in the house. (Y/n) was happy to see that they were dressed, she appreciated Ulaz’ help in getting their quadruples ready for their first day of preschool. She and Ulaz helped their four oldest children get their backpacks ready and put them on their backs, and then they made sure each of them had the right lunchbox so there wouldn't be any confusion. Gev, Mur and Kocho were excited to go to preschool for the first time and Laz wanted to be too, but he was afraid to go somewhere new and meet new people. Getting four children ready for preschool wasn't exactly the easiest thing to do, (Y/n) was glad that she had her husband's help getting them ready.
"I made sure that Laz and Gev have everything they need." Ulaz told (Y/n) after he carefully zipped up two of the backpacks, one at a time.
“Mur and Kocho have everything they need, too." (Y/n) replied after she made sure their other two children had all of their school supplies.
"Is it time to go yet?" Mur asked her mother with curiosity, barely able to contain her excitement to finally go to school.
"Yes, it's time." (Y/n) answered, smiling because the enthusiasm her and Ulaz’ three daughters had was adorable.
"Go get your shoes on." Ulaz chimed in, following his wife over to the playpen so he could help her get Zux and Zev.
Since Laz, Kocho, Gev and Mur were only four years old their parents gave them shoes they could easily slip onto their feet with very little effort, it made things easier for them when they wanted to go outside. (Y/n) and Ulaz had to take their twins with them that day because they were both dropping their four older children off at the preschool they selected, they were glad that their two youngest didn't need to wear shoes yet. Ulaz and (Y/n) put their shoes on when they joined Gev, Mur, Laz and Kocho at the front door; Ulaz made sure to grab the keys on their way outside, then he locked the front door after they were all outside.
Once (Y/n) and Ulaz got all of their kids into the SUV and made sure they were all buckled in with their school stuff on their laps, except for Zev and Zux, (Y/n) turned the vehicle on and started driving to the preschool. On the way to their destination (Y/n) popped a sing-along CD into the CD player so Mur, Kocho, Laz and Gev could sing along to the songs during the twenty minute drive. When they arrived at the preschool Ulaz and (Y/n) got out of the SUV, helped their kids out and they both unbuckled Zux and Zev and put them in the double stroller that (Y/n) had gotten out of the trunk while Ulaz closed all the doors. Ulaz pushed the stroller and followed the rest of his family across the parking lot; he felt a little concerned because he couldn't tell if any of the staff were around, schools on Earth were different than the ones on the planet he'd grown up on. Thankfully, they saw one of the teachers when she opened one of the preschool's glass doors and led her family in; she was surprised that it was Romelle she saw.
"Romelle?" (Y/n) asked the young altean woman, surprised to see her working at the local preschool.
"(Y/n), Ulaz, it's nice to see you and your kids again." Romelle said cheerfully when her attention was drawn to (Y/n), Ulaz and their children, beaming a welcoming smile at them.
"I didn't know that you worked here." (Y/n) responded; she was relieved that someone they knew worked at the preschool she and Ulaz enrolled Kocho, Laz, Mur and Gev at, especially since their four oldest were already familiar with her.
“I've been working here for four of your Earth months. Seeing New Altea was nice, but it was also boring; this was the first job on Earth that would give me a chance." Romelle answered; she would have chatted for longer, although class would be starting within the next few minutes.
"Hi Miss Romelle." Kocho, Mur and Gev said in sync, each of them giving one of their new teachers a friendly greeting.
"Hello there, are you ready to learn?" Romelle greeted the adorable quadruples with a friendly tone as she knelt down a little, asking them if they were ready for their first day of school.
"Yeah!" Kocho, Mur and Gev answered enthusiastically at the same time, all three of them breaking out in a fit of giggles.
It was a bittersweet moment for (Y/n) and Ulaz, but when Gev, Kocho and Mur hugged their legs before they went to follow Romelle, they felt a little sadder because they were growing up so quickly. (Y/n) noticed that Laz had been hiding behind Ulaz' legs ever since their family entered the preschool and she knew he felt nervous. Romelle noticed Laz a moment later and she patiently waited for him; it was common for some children to be scared to go to school, although she knew he would eventually come to enjoy it. (Y/n) smiled as she watched Ulaz step away, turn around and kneel down in front of Laz who looked as though he was going to have a panic attack.
"D-do I have to go?" Laz quietly asked his parents, his ears lowered in fear because of how scared he was to go to school.
"Yes, it is important for you to learn new things and make new friends." Ulaz told him, speaking softly in hopes of helping his and (Y/n's) oldest son feeling less scared.
"But what if I can't learn? And what if I never make any friends?" Laz questioned as he started to cry; he tried to wipe his tears away with his hands, but they just kept coming.
"Do you remember the saying?" Ulaz inquired with a curious tone as he came up with a solution that might work.
"Say please and thank you?" Laz queried, hoping that was the right answer.
"That too, but no." Ulaz answered with a smile.
"Knowledge or death?" Laz asked after a few moments of thinking, remembering the ancient Marmoran saying.
"Yes, just remember that throughout the day. And always say please and thank you." Ulaz replied as he gave Laz a reassuring smile.
"Okay, I guess I'll try." Laz responded before he gave his parents a hug before following Romelle and his sisters to the classroom.
(Y/n) and Ulaz made sure their four oldest children made it to their classroom without crying and they watched them introduce themselves to the rest of the class, then they went home for the day. Since Ulaz took the day off from work he could spend time with (Y/n) and their new twins; technically he only worked half days at the hospital because his wife needed him, thankfully his boss understood his situation and gave him a flexible schedule. Spending a full day during the week with his wife and two youngest kits was something Ulaz had been looking forward to for a while, he intended on relaxing with them until it was time to pick up Kocho, Laz Gev and Mur from preschool within the next couple of hours. On the way home Zev and Zux fell asleep in their car-seats; it wasn't an uncommon occurrence, and if Ulaz and (Y/n) were lucky they wouldn't wake up until a little later so that they could have a little alone time as a couple once they got home. Their three oldest daughters seemed like they would be alright, but they were a little nervous that Laz would have a hard time adjusting to preschool.
__________
When the time came a few hours later, (Y/n) and Ulaz went to go pick Mur, Laz, Kocho and Gev up from preschool. They put Zux and Zev in their car-seats and Ulaz took a turn driving their SUV to the preschool; he was a surprisingly good driver considering that he'd only flown various kinds of spacecraft throughout his life, at least up until a few months prior. Once they arrived at their destination, Ulaz parked the SUV so he and (Y/n) could go pick their first four children up from school for the first time. They put Zev and Zux in the stroller and then walked over to the building, thankfully the door was wide enough for the stroller to fit through. All of the preschool kids were lined up along the wall near the front desk, all of them waiting for their parents to come pick them up.
Kocho, Gev, Mur and Laz ran over to their parents when they saw them coming, each of them greeting their mother and father with a hug. They were careful when they hugged their father's legs because he still had one of his hands on the stroller handle and they didn't want to accidentally frighten their two younger siblings. Romelle walked over so she could give Ulaz and (Y/n) a report of how their kids had done during their first day of school; everything had gone well, and even Laz had a good time after he found a friend. (Y/n) and her family bid Romelle goodbye for the day and it wasn't long before Ulaz, (Y/n) and all six of their children were all buckled up in their SUV so they could go home. On the way home, Gev, Mur, Kocho and Laz told their parents about how much fun they had at school and what they did; Laz had even made his very first friend and they all looked forward to going to preschool the next day, Ulaz and (Y/n) were glad that their quadruples had a good first day of school.
