Level Twenty-Five

My lungs are on fire as the Dragon pulls me down, down into the depths of the lake. I clutch one of its spines for dear life, the water rushing against my body and threatening to loosen my grip. I can't do this much longer; I have to go up for air sometime. So, in a moment of pure stupidity, I let go of its spine and start swimming upward. As I look back down, still swimming frantically, I notice that the dragon has turned around and is getting ready to spit at me.

Crap.

It fires and I'm hit with a gust of burning water. Rocketing up towards the sky, I brace myself to break the surface of the lake. The water stings as I begin to fall towards the beach, where Takashi and Cinda watch me with wide eyes. I try to turn and hit the ground on my back, but it doesn't work. I land on my side and feel no pain, but I can feel myself weakening as my HP drops into the red.

Cinda is on top of me almost immediately. "Takashi, distract it!" she yells, and she starts fumbling around in her pocket. Her clumsy fingers bring out a green Crystal as my HP lowers to the last corner of the Health Meter. I'm going to die.

Then she crushes the Crystal on me.

And my HP skyrockets.

I look at her in disbelief, then scramble to get up and pull out my sword. I'm alive. And I'm going to kill this Dragon. Cinda and Takashi standing on either side of me, I take my stance, and we attack the behemoth. The others take its front while I run around to the tail and start climbing again, this time faster and steadier. I can do this.

Finally I make it to its neck. The Dragon begins thrashing around as it notices me, but I continue to climb. When I get to its head, it dances about helplessly. It lets out a mighty roar as I drive my sword into one of its eyes, then the other. It starts romping about, leaving me hanging on for dear life. Suddenly, it falls and explodes into blue shards, and I fall to the ground.

The Mizu Dragon is dead.

A/N: ¡Hola, readers! Sorry for the loooooooong time between updates; writer's blocks and rehearsals for three plays haven't helped. Anyways, I hope you enjoyed this last chapter!

I wanted to include this author's note because geek culture has lost a brilliant mind. Red like roses will now fill our dreams forever. Rest in peace, Monty Oum. Thank you for RWBY.
