Clouds covered the sky and thunder roared, I sat looking at my helmet it's purple and cyan features went well together.
"Come on time to meet your new team," came the scruffy voice of one of my transport guards, I nodded putting my mask on. We got into a warthog and went towards the teams location, from what I heard they weren't afraid to take risks or go on suicide mission. The death of my old squad made me sketchy about meeting them, we had been ambushed on a mission I was the only one left. We were being followed by two heavily gunned falcons, I noticed the road was quite long and bumpy. The warthog was built for this terrain so it didn't bother me too much, after a few minutes or so we arrived at the checkpoint. I got out of the warthog and they drove off, the falcons landed nearby. I walked past an empty falcon and noticed a man loading a pistol, I acknowledged him with a nod and nothing more. I went towards the com building where my other team members were waiting, upon entering I notice a spartan with a skull on his mask sharpening a knife. Joel stood talking with command, he seemed pissed about our mission. Kat put her arm on my shoulder, her mask was somewhere but I didn't care.
"Commander," she said catching their attention, George and carter turned to me. Emile (em-isle) simply sat forward putting his knife down, I almost rolled my eyes.
"So that's our new number 6?" George asked studying me, I stepped towards him.
"Kat you read her file?" Emile questioned also, Kat nodded.
"Only the parts that weren't covered in black ink," Kat informed, I liked her already.
"Anyone already claimed responsibility sir?" Carter questioned command, I don't think he liked me very much but eh I can't blame him.
"ONI thinks it might be the local inserection, five months ago they pulled a similar one on harmony, they already had our eyes and ears then two of them stole freaters from our dry dock, that cannot happen here, reach is too damn important, I want that relay back online Noble 1," command ordered, carter seemed to get even angrier but he control his temper.
"Sir, consider it done," carter nodded, command seemed pleased.
"Then I will see you on the other side, holland out," command then turned off the com, carter turned around.
"lieutenant," Carter greeted, I stepped forward.
"I'm carter Noble teams leader," Carter greeted, I nodded. George stood beside him, I almost thought he would slap me for no reason.
"That's Kat, Emile and George, three, four and five, your riding with me noble six," Carter explained, everyone was heading outside. We followed them out, they all put their masks on.
"Not gunna lie to you lieutenant your stepping into the shoes the rest of the squad would rather leave unfilled, me I'm just glad I have Noble up to full strength, just one thing, I've seen your file even the part the ONI sensors didn't want me to, I'm glad to have your skills ma'am, but we're a team, that lone wolf stuff stays behind, clear?" Carter explained as we got into a falcon, I nodded.
"Got it sir," I agreed, being a lone wolf was fun but even I had to give it up to get the mission done. The falcon began to take off, this would be fun.
"Welcome to reach," Joel greeted joining us, I began to check my guns. We began to head towards our drop location, the team seemed perfect. I noticed another member, he was silent but seemed nice. He was called beau, I knew we would be fast friends.
