"Talking" 'thoughts' location and time

Subaru along with his ghost and Rem walk through the rusted corridors of an old building.

Subaru: "So I can only remember everything that's happened in about the last 20 minutes mind explaining how you know me."

Rem: "Right guardians lose all memory of their past life so I'll have to get you caught up."

Subaru: "Okay for starters who exactly are you to me?"

Rem was silent for a moment remembering that Subaru had an unshakable love for Emilia one that ultimately would probably be rekindled but she had to at least do something.

Rem: "You said you could do anything as long as you had me by your side. Garfiel even said you considered me the most precious person in your life."

Subaru: "I said that? Well seeing as you saved my bacon from Randal the vandal back there I can definitely see it. I don't exactly understand fully why I'd hold you in such regard but."

Subaru does a goofy pose.

Subaru: "I swear one day I'll remember how truly incredible a person you were to me Rem-rin!"

Rem giggles at Subaru's antics.

Rem: "It's been some time since you've called me that."

Ghost: "Alright enough flirting you two I need to get the lights on."

Rem: "Right of course all business.  Keep calm and her going."

Subaru's ghost floats away with Subaru and Rem watching.  The ghost arrives at a console and gets to work.  Meanwhile Subaru puts his hand on his chin and starts contemplating.

Rem: "What are you doing Subaru-kun?"

Subaru: "Trying to think of a name for my ghost.  Satella?"

Rem: "In bad taste."

Subaru: "Zavala?"

Rem: "I don't think he'd appreciate that."

Subaru: "Widget?"

Rem: "Taken."

Ghost: "Great all the fuses are shot and centuries of decay and entropy are working against me."

Suddenly the lights start to turn on and Subaru's ghost flies back.

Ghost: "No need to thank me."

Subaru looks up and slowly puts his helmet back on.

Subaru: "Uh, ghost."

Ghost: "What?"

Subaru's ghost and Rem look up to see a lot of fallen hanging on the ceiling above them.

Ghost: "We should probably run now."

Subaru and Rem oblige as Subaru's ghost disappears.  A fallen dreg tries jumping Subaru but he unloads his Khvostov 7g-02 into the creature killing it within seconds.  Rem and Subaru continue to run through the building dodging traps and killing fallen as they go.

Ghost: "I've pinpointed the location of a jumpship we can use it's not pretty but it's better than dying!"

Subaru: "Anything that keeps us from dying is better than dying!"

As Subaru says that another Vandal jumps out at them.  Subaru goes to punch it but feels something different about his fist.  He can feel energy arcing all around it and as his fist makes contact with the vandal blue lightning comes out of his fist electrocuting it to death.

Subaru: "What was that?"

Rem: "Your powers are coming to you fast that'll come in handy."

Rem and Subaru manage to make it outside and start booking it across a wide open area. Subaru guns down any fallen he sees while Rem swings her Morningstar with incredible force taking out fallen dregs and shanks in one hit.

Subaru: "Where are these things coming from!?"

Ghost: "We're deep in their territory they have us surrounded more reason to get to the jumpship."

Rem and Subaru run into a warehouse for cover when suddenly five fallen behind them drop dead. They turn to see another guardian fresh from the grave.

???: "That was close."

Subaru: "Who the hell are you?"

???: "Names Shane, Shane-0."

Another ghost comes out of Shane.

Other ghost: "Shane it appears we have a gravedigger and a Titan here. Our luck might be turning around."

Shane-0: "I think you're right Dink."

Rem: "Another Guardian?"

Subaru: "Cool but we kind of have an army of fallen on our tail."

Subaru's ghost: "Good news the ship should be straight ahead."

Rem: "Okay we need to go.  There should be a jumpship we can use in here."

Subaru, Rem, and Shane head deeper into the warehouse finding a wrecked jumpship.

Subaru: "Ghost can you get it to fly?"

Subaru's ghost: "Yes just give me a minute to-."

Suddenly fallen fill the room but do not attack they appear to be waiting. Suddenly a larger fallen with two electrified swords and a solar shotgun enters the room walking towards Subaru.

The fallen captain cackles and points one of his blades at Subaru speaking in a language Subaru can't understand however he can understand the intent behind the alien words.

Subaru: "He wants a duel huh. I'll give him one."

Subaru steps forward while the fallen surrounding the group chatter and cheer on their captain to kill the lightbearer.  Subaru and the captain size each other up each one waiting for the other to make the first move.

The captain would move first going at Subaru full speed trying to cut out Subaru's throat with his swords however Subaru retaliates with a punch infused with crackling lightning.  The blow makes contact with the captain popping his shields and Subaru capitalizes by shooting the shotgun out of the captain's hand before punching him with incredible force in the face.

The captain realizes the lightbearer it chose as it's prey may be new but clearly is no slouch.  Fighting appears to come naturally to this lightbearer something uncommon amongst their ilk.

The captain takes a swing at Subaru with his blades only for Subaru to catch one of the blades and take it for himself.

Subaru: "Nice sword think I might keep it."

Subaru uses his new weapon to chop off one of the captain's arms making the fallen stagger back and howl in pain.  Subaru sheaths the sword on his back as lightning courses throughout his body gathering into his fists.

Shane-0: "Uh, what is that?"

Rem: "It looks like Subaru-kun has awakened to the ultimate power of the striker.  The fist of havoc."

Subaru jumps up into the air bringing his arms above his head to smash the fallen captain who begins cowering in fear knowing this is the end.  The fallen surrounding the group start to disperse many running away in fear for their lives as Subaru lands on the captain smashing him into oblivion.

Subaru stands on the charred corpse of the captain victorious as the fallen run out of the building having seen their leader killed.

Subaru: "How did I do."

Rem: "You're even better than I remember Subaru-kun!"

Subaru's ghost: "I have to agree.  It's uncommon for guardians to pick up fighting so fast you're a natural.  I might even brag I may have resurrected the next Saint-14."

Subaru: "Who?"

Subaru's ghost: "I'll explain later.  For now let me at that ship."

Subaru's ghost floats to the Arcadia class jumpship scanning it.

Shane-0: "So lightbulb will it fly?"

Subaru's ghost: "It should be able to get us to the city.  Unfortunately there's only two seats."

Rem: "I'm sitting next to Subaru-kun!"

Shane-0: "Well Dink looks like we're flying coach."

Dink: "Fantastic."

Dink rolls his eye.

The group transmats onboard the ship with Subaru's ghost starting it up and Subaru getting to work on piloting.

Subaru: "A little new at this but I can manage."

Subaru pulls the ship up and out of the warehouse as they begin flying away.

Subaru's ghost: "Engaging autopilot now."

Subaru: "So now that we're not being shot at can you tell me a bit more about who I am to you?" 

Rem blushes and looks at Subaru nervously.

Rem: "You were very important to me before you died and when I woke up from my coma and found out you were dead I was devastated.  When I learned that you could possibly become a guardian and be with us again I joined the gravedigger's guild almost immediately.  I was losing hope until you finally came back."

Subaru: "Wow I didn't know I had that much of an effect on you.  Then again I technically was just born today."

Rem giggles.

Rem: "Don't worry Subaru-kun me and your friends will make sure you remember everything about your old life.  Although it has been some time since I've seen Emilia or Garfiel.  Everyone is going to be so happy to see you again."

With a new light taking his first steps into the world the group fly towards massive walls looming in the distance.

(And that's chapter 2 done I hope you all enjoy.  I'm a major destiny fan even though I haven't played since beyond light I still keep up with the story and I'm very excited for this series.  At some point I will do a few prequel chapters to clear up what's going on and if you want to know why and how Rem is awake ask in the comments anyway I'll catch you all later.)
