<Welcome Newcomer to the land of Asrania. Here there is an order of beings known as Elementals, and these beings are the guardians of an element. They are also the source of the specific element, and so when a person has an elemental ability, it is from them which it originated. Over time however this group separated themselves from civilization more and more, before cutting off all connections entirely. The only contact they have is with one another, as they are all humans gifted with immense knowledge and power. As well as with those that seek out their hideaway, known as The Cave Of The Elements, to gain knowledge for their quest as well as be tested. Only those who pass the Elementals tests will be allowed to enter their sacred cave, and gain the knowledge they seek. You might wonder why they do not just give brave heros the information they seek, and send them on their way to save the world. But surely if they cannot pass a trial then what use would they be against a foe? This group is set in their ways, or at least enough of them are to make change difficult. So to enlighten you a bit more on this strange group, let me share with you their sacred traditions, along with a brief explanation>

~Sacred Traditions~
•            Elemental Law             •
1. A True Elemental's name should consist of multiple words, and always possess some form of their element within their name. For example; Earth Upon Which The Living Tread.

1: An Elemental's name is a token of pride for them, since it sets them apart from everyone else as well as declares them as Elem-Kin. Elem-Kin simply means a person which an elemental power originated from. Their lifespan is also expanded, although they can die from a disease that they have dubbed 'Corruption'. As well as from wounds, and a few other sicknesses. However generally they live a long time, sometimes thousands of years. Some also find it a pain to have such a long name at times, but nonetheless they still take pride in them.

2. When someone successfully completes a trial set by an Elemental on their journey to The Cave of The Elements, upon their arrival they should be gifted a name akin to that of an Elemental. However these honorary names do not have to include the element that they wield and instead could include their name. This doesn't mean that it cannot include their element however. An Example is;

2: The honorary name is just a way to say that in short, those who have passed the trials are now one of them. Not exactly one of them, since it doesn't make them Elem-Kin, but still they are considered to be apart of the 'family'. For example, Jane Who Lives Among The Trees, or Skys That Weep For Man.

3. The Names of an Elemental are sacred, and are not to be used lightly. If the use of names are necessary, only the first word is to be used. And only in dire circumstances. Or when discussing things of relative importance.

3: So familiar should the Elemental be with their brethren, that names should not be needed to address one another. This sort of bond is needed to hold together the community. Or at least that is the reasoning behind this rule. Most of them find this rule to be ridiculous, but it hasn't been thrown out yet.

4. If a villain has risen and is discovered to posses a power of an Elemental, then the Elemental is to be dealt immense shame. For the duration of time that the villain remains a threat, the Elemental is to be stripped of their name and their status as Elem-Kin rejected. They are entirely at the mercy of their brethren.

4: Not even the current Elementals are certain of how this rule came to be, and the reason seems to have been lost to time. However it is most because of the fact that the Elementals were no longer able to control who exactly received their power that this rule came into existence. Why stripping them of their name and everything else is nessisary is unknown, because it is simply bad luck that a person with an Elemental's power arises. If they can't control it then what's the point of shaming them? We may never know.

5. If one of the Elementals are to fall, they are to be gifted the burial of one. And someone to take their place as the originator of the specific element must immediately be sought out.

5: By their being an Elementals, the world is kept in balance. If their was no Elemental that originated the power of the Earth, then the ground and possibly nature would begin to suffer. As the power and element would then become unstable. So that is why one must be sought out quickly.
