Rose's POV
I had a dreadful past. Bruises, cuts, scars everywhere, every one of them, resides all over my body. And they were from both my parents. It all started with a newborn who has cherry red hair. She opened her wide chocolate brown eyes with a true smile. That was me. I was loved by them, until at a certain young age, I realised that they did not love me. I was a simple mere tool to be loved. Heck, I was actually used by them to make me think that I loved them. I was forced to become their own housemaid. Think about it: a daughter being used to become a housemaid by her parents!

And every time I glanced at people having families of their own around the markets, I couldn't help but feel jealous of them. The only thing I'm good at is making others happy but... what about myself? How can I make myself feel the joy I longed for? What should I do?

I was doing my usual rounds of buying the groceries until I accidentally bumped into a stranger, resulting me in dropping my freshly-bought groceries and falling on the ground. "I apologize, are you alright, miss?" He asked, offering a hand. "O-Of course..." I smiled, and tried picking up all the things I have dropped. "You have a lot on your hands, allow me to help. It's my fault that you got in this mess." He rubbed the back of his neck. "Oh, no need to worry, I can manage." I shook my head. "I'm more than happy to help." He picked up half of my groceries and gave them to me. "Thank you." I smiled. "What's your name?" He asked. "I'm Rose. Rose Green." I introduced myself, "how about you, what's your name?" "I am Corrin, a Prince of Nohr." He bowed. Corrin... Corrin... Wait. CORRIN?! As in, the Corrin who was taken from Hoshido to Nohr?! But what is he doing here? "P-Please forgive me! I-I did not know who you were until now!" I bowed my head in shame, embarrassed that I did not know who he was. "Please, no need for formalities. Just call me 'Corrin'." He chuckled out of awkwardness. "A-Alright... Corrin..." I stuttered, not just because I was shy, but the fact that I felt quite uncomfortable about calling him by his first name, not addressing by his status. We both gazed into each other's eyes, until I realized the time. If I linger on for too long, I would receive myself a punishment of a lifetime. "Oh my, I-I should get going!" I stuttered again. He suddenly felt my deeper emotions and thoughts. "Are you going to be okay?" He asked, concerned. "I'll be fine... I'm used to this routine anyways..." I sighed, having flashbacks of my traumatizing background. "Let me give you something." Corrin handed out a dagger that has a sapphire blue blade. "What is this?" I asked. "I've named it the 'Dagger of Hope'. Please, let it be of use to you. I believe that this will guide you to your wish - to have joy." He gave the weapon to me. "It's beautiful... Thank you, Corrin. I hope that we will meet again in the future." I smiled, bade him goodbye and rushed to my family.

Luckily I wasn't punished when I returned, as I have surprisingly made it on time.

3rd Person's POV
The next day was the biggest change for Rose. She woke up only to find that both her parents went missing. Did they notice the dagger she was given, and they were on their way to find that person who gave the weapon to their daughter. She doesn't know. Rose went to search for her parents, even though she knows that she is used by them to be loved, she couldn't help but be a bit curious about what they are doing.

Going to the marketplace in Nohr, Rose heard familiar voices. Two sounded more like her parents, one sounded like a young, but mature, feminine voice. She had a small glance to see whether they were exactly her parents or not. Sadly, they are. And talking to them is a young girl who seems to be in her older teens-age, and has medium length sand beige hair colour. She wears a navy blue tank top which a black side cape surrounds it along with charcoal grey fitted trousers and knee-length beige boots, and she conceals a mask which covers her eyes to keep her identity, though I not know why. Rose hid in the passageways, eavesdropping at their conversation. "Please, I beg of you, young Miss! Our daughter Rose would be of great use to you!" The mother's voice pleaded. "We have no use of our daughter anymore, so if you please take the money - " the father's voice was interrupted. "That's enough, Mr. and Mrs. Green. Do not bribe me with money in order to sell your child - it's wrong. Do you not give all of your love and energies to her?" The young girl asked. "O-Of course we love her, we just - " Mrs. Green was cut off due to Rose being captured by one of the bandits. She screamed for help. Her parents turned round to see who the culprit was, but failed to do so. "I apologize. I must be on my way to see what is happening!" The girl quickly apologized and rushed over to see who the screamer was.

Rose desperately fights back by releasing herself from her captors, then she remembered the dagger Corrin had gave her. She stabbed the bandit's arm with the short blade, oozing out the blood from the bandit's limb (sorry if this sounds quite bloody...). He screamed out in pain and agony, accidentally releasing Rose from his grasp. The young girl who was talking to Rose's parents rushed in the nick of time to check up on her. "Are you okay?" She asked. Rose gave her an affirmative nod. "That's good. I'm glad that you're unharmed. I'd admire your bravery for stabbing the bandit's arm." The mysterious warrior smiled. "Thank you." Rose bowed. "What is your name?" She asked. "Rose. What should I call you?" The true flower asked. "My name is Blythe Fall. It is a pleasure to meet you." Blythe introduced herself. Having flashbacks of her parents talking to Blythe made Rose tear up, the masked warrior took notice of this and asked. "Are you alright?" "No, my parents... I-I didn't mean to eavesdrop on your conversation with my parents but - " Rose was interrupted. "I see. You must be the one. But you don't seem the type to be sold out. You're a beautiful girl... I couldn't simply take you away and do the worse things..." Blythe sighed and grimaced at the thought of her parents bribing the masked warrior to sell their daughter to her. An idea popped up. "I have an idea. My ki - I mean, my friend's kingdom is called Sagaria, and she'll be able to accept you. Her name is Kagura Amitola, and she has asked me to find those who I think would seem worthy to be in her group. You won't be treated like a slave there, but you'll be treated like everyone else - a friend, even better - a family." Blythe explained, hoping that that could cheer Rose up. "I'd be honored to be a part of Kagura's army but... what would my parents think?" Rose worry at the thought of herself telling her parents that she is joining the army but they forbade her from going. "Don't you worry, Rose. I'll explain to them myself." Blythe placed a hand on Rose's shoulder with a reassuring smile. "I must give something to you since I think that you are strong enough to be in m- Kagura's army. These are transportation orbs that allow you to go to Sagaria. Throw one and crush it with your foot will open up a portal, which leads to m- our kingdom." Blythe explained. "Alright. Thank you very much, Blythe. Will we meet again?" Rose asked, saddened to think of Blythe leaving her. "Of course we will. I must make my way to your parents and say that I have found her, since you went missing, correct?" She asked in a serious tone. "...Yes." Rose looked down in guilt. "Don't worry, Rose. I'll do my best to protect you." Blythe gave her a reassuring smile. "Th-Thank you..." she smiled, with tears of relief.

Blythe and Rose returned to the true flower's home, where her parents are furious that she has left without her permission. However, Blythe stood up for Rose in every step of the way and protected her. Rose was free from her parents' bounds. The two parted ways, and Rose wondered about her new life that is coming for her.
