Open in the courtyard with Ram, Denji, and Power with Denji deep in thought about his new goal

Denji: 'I swear that one of these days I'm gonna touch Rem's melons and it's gonna be awesome!'

Ram: "What do you mean by melons?"

Denji: "Did I say that out loud?"

Ram: "You said melons for some reason."

Denji: "That's because I've finally found what I'm gonna work for and it's melons!"

Ram sighs realizing what he's talking about

Ram: "You've got to be kidding me. Devil hunting even part time is something everyone takes seriously but you."

Power: "I'll never understand humans far too complicated oni on the other hand are simple."

Ram: "I appreciate the sentiment even if it is a passive aggressive one.  Now then I need you and power to scout around the forest and village to look for devils."

Denji: "What?  You're sticking me with her?"

Power: "Already cowering I see glad to know you know your place human."

Denji: "Shut up you damn devil!"

A few hours later Denji and Power are roaming through the woods bored out of their minds

Power: "Human I demand slaughter!"

Denji: "I see why Ram stuck me with this crazy chick she's trying to keep me out of the limelight and away from getting any attention from girls.  Damn that Ram..."

As Denji is lamenting his situation Power picks up something nearby

Power: "There it is!"

Power runs off

Denji: "Wha-!?  Hey get back here!"

Denji chases after Power who is laughing like a blood crazed maniac

Power: "Time to fight!  Time to fight!  Time to fight!"

Power jumps off a cliff and forms a comically oversized mallet from her blood

Down below a few hunters are hiding from the terror of the sea cucumber devil

Hunter 1: "listen I'll make a break for it and call for the local devil hunters."

Hunter 2: "Okay just be careful not to-."

Their conversation is interrupted by Power who slams her blood mallet down on the unsuspecting devil turning it into a puddle of blood and gore

Power: "MINE!  The glory is all mine!!!!"

Denji arrives on the scene just in time to see the panicked hunters readying their weapons against Power

Half an hour later at the Roswaal mansion

Roswaal: "Denji you must learn to control Power better she's given the villagers quite the scare."

Power: "It was him who commanded me to kill!"

Denji: "Bullshit! You're lying again!"

Roswaal: "It doesn't particularly matter who is lying what matters is that you two maintain a better public image otherwise my own may be compromised and harm lady Emilia's candidacy."

Denji: "Tell that to this damn devil. Not that she'll listen."

Roswaal: "How about you two take the rest of the day off to get to know one another. Besides Denji most definitely neeeeeeds to familiarize himself with the villagers."

Cut to later in the village with Denji and Power walking around with Power proudly prancing while Denji follows behind

Denji: "What a load of bullshit. I get in trouble because you're too bloodthirsty."

Power: "You ordered me to kill."

Denji: "I did not!"

Denji feels a tug on his jacket

Denji: "Huh?"

???: "I've never seen you before. Are you new around here?"

Denji: "Uh, yeah I'm pretty new around here how about you?"

???: "I'm Petra nice to meet you and I've lived here my whole life."

Power: "Insignificant worm begin from my sight or thou shall know the wrath of Power!"

Petra starts laughing at Power's bold threat

Power: "Why art thou laughing!?"

Petra: "It's just that everyone knows who you are by now. You're the maid who's been working at the mansion for a month now and you've gotten the reputation of the town liar."

Power: "Town liar!? For such blasphemy against I the almighty Power I shall tear you asunder!"

Denji immediately puts Power in a headlock

Denji: "You dumbass we can't kill a kid Roswaal would murder us!"

Petra: "So you didn't tell me your name yet."

Denji; "Oh, the name is Denji, just Denji I forgot my family name a long time ago."

Petra: "Really that's super sad.  Hey do you wanna come play with us?"

Denji: "Well I'm not sure if-."

Petra uses her secret weapon on Denji puppy dog eyes

Denji: "On second thought I'm not doing anything right now so why the hell not."

An hour later Rem comes into town on Roswaal's orders to check up on Denji and Power only to find Denji having a blast with the local kids and Power being dogpiled by said kids

Power: "You little monsters dare to restrain me! The mighty Power! I shall rend you apart for this transgression!"

Denji: "We're just having fun!"

Rem watches Denji playing with the kids intently still not entirely trusting Denji but not holding much malice towards him (Denji doesn't have return by death so he doesn't have the scent of the witch)

Rem: "Denji-kun! Power-Chan!"

Rem approaches the two of them

Denji: "Oh hey Rem!"

Rem: "What are you doing?"

Denji: "The kids wanted to play so I started playing with them and we've even talked about each other's dreams."

Petra: "Is Rem Rem the girl who's chest you want to grab?"

After hearing this Denji and Rem go beat red

Denji: "Wait Rem before you do anything I-!"

Rem slaps Denji so hard he goes flying and Rem realizes what she did way too late

Rem: "Denji-kun! Rem is so sorry she forgot her own strength!"

Denji (dazed): "It's fine I probably shouldn't have told her my dream."

Rem: "Rem agrees Denji-kun's dream is perverted and shouldn't be told to children."

Rem starts pouting

Power: "Unhand me you savages!"

Denji feels a tug on his arm as a little girl with blue hair looks up at him

???: "Denji come with me I wanna show you something."

The girl pulls Denji away with Rem just sighing and giving a small smile

Denji is dragged off towards a bush by the blue haired girl as she goes into the bush and takes out a puppy with a bald spot on it's head however as the puppy gets closer to Denji it starts whimpering

Denji: "Huh?"

???: "Eh?"

Denji: "I'm not that scary am I?"

???: "Maybe it's you're teeth they look sort of sharp."

Denji: "Hey what stinks around here?"

Later in the village

Power: "I hate humans make no mistake about that but I hate devils more after all one of them kidnapped my precious cat Meowy."

Denji and Power are on their way back to the mansion with Denji not really caring much about what Power is saying

Denji: "Honestly I don't really get it it's just a cat. If it were a dog I might understand."

Power: "You said you were out to squeeze breasts right? Would you help me get Meowy back if I let you touch mine."

Denji: "That...fucking devil!"

Power: "Huh!?"

Denji: "It thinks it can just take some poor innocent cat and get away with it!"

Power: "Huh!?"

Denji: "Fuck that I'm gonna fucking kill that mother fucker!"

The next day Denji and Power go to see Rem

Denji: "We gotta leave for a bit to take care of something you can cover for us right?"

Rem sighs but chooses to put a little trust in Denji

Rem: "Well I do most of the work around here anyway so I guess I can."

Roswaal: "Are you two going somewhere?"

Roswaal appears behind Denji and Power jumping them both

Denji: "Oh boss I didn't know you were here."

Roswaal: "I'm fine with you going out to take care of any business outside of town but I must warn you to be careful there's a dangerous devil around the roads who has been threatening the livelihood of the village for some time now. Ram has already gone on a hunt with a few other devil hunters to take care of it so do be careful."

Rem: "You seem to have dressed up are you going somewhere?"

Roswaal: "Yes actually I have affairs in the capital to attend to so I'm leaving you in charge while I'm gone.  Just promise me something Denji."

Roswaal leans close to Denji right up to his ear

Roswaal: "Don't lose that heart of yours."

Roswaal then proceeds to hover in the air and take off

Power: "Come peasant Meowy's rescue awaits!"

(And there we go sorry for taking so long I've been preoccupied with raising a Bloodhound puppy he's cute as can be but man is he a hellion)
