Open in a small shack on the outskirts of a small town

The shack is poorly constructed and could barely be considered a shack a more accurate description is grass with a roof over it

Inside the shack a boy with dirty hair and one eye is woken up by his pet a dog like creature with a chainsaw in it's face and a pull cord for a tail

???: "woof!"

???: "Okay Pochita I'm up."

???: "I'm glad you're the one waking me up today at least."

There's a loud banging on the shack door

???: "Get out here Denji, we got money to make and no time to lose!"

Denji: "The least they could do is let me dream."

Denji and Pochita are walking on the side of the road together

Denji: "let's see here I sold one of my kidneys for 1.2 million, my right eye for 300,000, I sold one of my nuts and it didn't even get me 100,000."

Pochita growls

Denji: "What's that Pochita you ready to kill something?"

Pochita wags his pull cord tail in excitement

Eventually Denji and Pochita come to a farm and hide behind a fence spotting a tomato monster

After killing the tomato monster Denji turns to the farmer

Denji: "This thing was definitely the Tomato devil burn the seeds or else it'll come back."

???: "Good work Denji this will fetch a good price on the black market maybe for about 400,000."

Denji: "hell yea-!"

???: "After the finder's fee, the clean up fee, and of course the cut going towards your debt that leaves-."

Later on the street

Denji: "40,000 yen left. Then I need to pay the water bill so that leaves only 1,500 yen left and we're gonna have to make it last a month."

Pochita trots behind Denji

Pochita: "woof!"

Denji: "Yeah you're right we can totally make it."

Denji picks up Pochita in his arms as his eye starts to get heavy along with Pochita's

Denji: "as long as we're together we can do anything."

Denji and Pochita close them eyes and suddenly they both see a bright light

When their eyes adjust they notice something they're somewhere else entirely

Denji: "huh?"

Pochita: "woof?"

Denji: "I don't know Pochita."

Denji notices some of the people around him and Pochita have animal ears or are full on furries

Denji: "Pochita do you think we've been summoned to another world?"

Pochita: "Woof!"

Denji: "And a new world means... NO DEBT!"

Denji starts crying tears of joy with Pochita wagging his pull cord tail and lapping Denji's face

Denji: "We made it Pochita! We can finally have the life we always dreamed of!"

???: "Um are you alright sir?"

A man with red hair in a white uniform walked up to Denji

Denji: "I'm more than alright, I'm amazing and I'm debt free! WOOO WHOOO!"

???: "Oh that must be exciting. Say what is that pet of yours?"

The redhead gestures to Pochita

Denji: "Oh this is my best friend Pochita he's the chainsaw devil."

???: "Your pet is a devil!?"

Denji: "He's nice I promise and we're both in a great mood. Names Denji by the way. Who are you pretty boy?"

???: "Uh, well I suppose it would be fair to at least introduce myself. My name is Reinhard Van Astrea."

Denji: "Reinhard huh never heard a name like that before. Anyway I'm looking for work and a place to rest my head so you know a place?"

Reinhard: "Well butlers are in demand at the moment so I guess try your luck there. I would recommend devil hunting but the payday probably isn't worth the danger."

Denji: "I've killed devils before but being a butler sounds nice. What do you think Pochita?"

Pochita: "Woof!"

Denji: "I guess we could try both. So where should I start looking for a job?"

Cut to a little later and Denji is lost he he can't read the signs (not that he could read before) and he accidentally stumbled into a demi human bar and the ladies bathroom while most would be disheartened Denji didn't care he was debt free and on top of the world

Denji: "Nothing can keep me down now my luck is turning around I can feel it!"

Denji turns into an alleyway and sits down with the biggest toothiest grin he's ever had on his face then suddenly three thugs enter the alleyway dumb,dumber, and dumbest

Dumb: "Shit he looks broke look at his clothes."

Dumber: "hold on now. See that little thing next to him?"

Dumb: "Is that a devil?"

Dumbest: "Yeah I bet that little pooch would sell for a good price on the black market."

Denji: "Can I help you?"

Dumbest: "Give us your dog!"

Denji doesn't say anything he just picks up Pochita grabs his pull cord tail and yanks it

Dumb: "What the hell is that!?"

Denji: "Listen I'm in a good mood today so here's what's gonna happen you're gonna drop all your money and I don't kill you and sell your body parts."

The middle one dumber pulls out two knives and charges at Denji who dodges and brings Pochita's chainsaw down on dumber's arms spraying blood everywhere as he screams in agony before his arm is sawed off

Denji: "Come at me again there's more where that-!"

???: "Out of the way!"

A girl in clothes almost as tattered as Denji's with red eyes runs by and meets eyes with Denji

???: "Live strong!"

The girl parkours through the alleyway and on top of a building

After that Denji turns back to dumb, dumber, and dumbest

Denji: "This is the part where you run away."

The three quickly oblige and run away terrified of the maniac wielding a saw devil of some kind

Denji: Well now that that's taken care of time to-."

???: "You there!"

Denji: "Oh what now!"

Denji is then hit in the head with a block of ice knocking him out

Denji comes to feeling his head on something soft

Denji: "Fuck my head. What am I laying my head on."

???: "Me silly but I guess you can't see very good with one eye depth perception and what not."

Denji: "Since when do girls have such hairy legs or is that normal and I just didn't know?"

Denji turns his head up to look at the girl whose lap he's using as a pillow only to be greeted by...

(Just replace Subaru with Denji)

Denji: "What the fuck!"

Denji gets up and stumbles back he turn around and sees

She's honestly the most beautiful girl he's seen yet

Denji: "Uh, I uh..."

???: "Well I healed you like your dog asked now tell me where my Insignia is."

Denji: "What's an insignia?"
