Chapter 11

This is chaotic, so crazy.

When I realised my two separate identities were merging, I wasn't expecting the world to fall apart.

I didn't think my reality would collapse on me, or my friends would turn on me.

How is all this happening?

Should I just return and leave them to lead happy lives?

No...

I didn't leave that life for anyone else but myself. If I want this life, I am going to have to fight for it.

Until my last breath, until my last glimpse of this life, I will fight.

So what if my identities merge? They are parts of myself, aren't they?

I'll do what it takes, even if I lose him.

I will fight.

. . . . .

"Where is Taehyung?" Jimin asks, looking down the hallway in the direction of Taehyung's apartment as if he's just hiding down there.

Luna pulls out her phone and opens up the messaging app, reading through her previous messages to him.

LUNA: Morning, ready for school?

LUNA: Tae?

LUNA: Are you coming to school today?

LUNA: We are going to leave without you.

LUNA: Whatever.

He has seen every single one of her messages. He's not hiding that he's ignoring her; it's incredibly obvious. Honestly, she doesn't want to see him either, but she doesn't want to tell Jimin what happened. That would involve telling him that she has feelings for Taehyung, and she's not ready to kill Jimin just yet.

"Let's go," She mumbles, "He's not coming,"

"Why?" Jimin asks as she begins walking quickly towards the elevator.

"Just because," She replies.

All the way to school, Jimin continues to badger her about Taehyung. All the ignoring and stone-walling in the world could not hinder Jimin's curiosity. Eventually, he gives up, allowing them to walk in awkward silence.

As they approach the gate to the university, she spots the one person she was hoping she wouldn't see this early in the morning. Jungkook. He is leaning against the fence, his hands in his pockets with his leg resting on the other. His hair is hanging loose and curly around his face, making him look less like a criminal with his casual attire.

Luna attempts to walk right past him, but he obviously has other plans. He steps forward and reaches his arm out, so she runs into his forearm.

"Good morning, babe," He smirks as she turns to look at him.

"What do you want?" She asks.

"Same as yesterday," He shrugs, withdrawing his arm and stepping away, "Not leaving you alone until you come with me,"

"Yeah, no," Luna rolls her eyes.

Jimin steps forward so he is standing between Luna and Jungkook, his body facing Jungkook with his arms folded. Jungkook straightens his posture so he can look down at Jimin with more ease.

"She's not going anywhere with you," Jimin mutters darkly, "So you might as well run back to the US,"

"Wanna bet?" Jungkook teases, cocking his eyebrow at him, "I can be very persuasive,"

Before Luna can retort, Jimin springs into action. He spins, his leg away from his body. He kicks Jungkook's side as hard as he can, forcing him to be thrown to the ground.

There are a few gasps as nearby students stop to watch the encounter in shock.

Jungkook jumps to his feet easily, a hint of embarrassment tinting his cheeks. He goes to shove Jimin, but Jimin brings his arms up to push his arms away. They move closer, staring each other down.

"You always thought you could do whatever you want, but you can't Jungkook," Jimin mutters, his eyes narrowed as his jaw clenches and unclenches with barely contained rage.

"Says the homewrecker," Jungkook hisses, looking down his nose at Jimin.

Jimin goes to punch him in the stomach, but Jungkook manages to stop him this time, holding onto his wrist firmly. Jimin goes to punch with his other hand, which Jungkook grabs as well.

He pushes Jimin, hard, so he falls onto his back, his shoulders thumping dangerously on the hard cement.

Jungkook moves forward, withdrawing his leg back to kick him in the side.

Luna steps in, pulling Jungkook away from Jimin before pushing him roughly into the fence.

"Enough!" Luna yells, "No more, Jungkook,"

"He started it," He retorts, pouting slightly as if he is a child that has been told off in the playground. Jimin gets up behind Luna, rubbing his now tender shoulder.

"Just stay away from her," Jimin grumbles before storming towards the front gates, glowering at all the onlookers. As Jimin passes them, they scatter, running from Jimin's harsh stare, leaving Luna alone with Jungkook.

"Now that your boyfriends are gone," Jungkook mumbles, "Can we talk?"

"I don't want to talk to you, Jungkook," Luna snaps, "I am never going back, and certainly not with you,"

Before Jungkook can respond to her, she turns around and moves into the university gates. She knows she's going to need to tell him multiple times, but if this is his entire plan, then that's fine. He might think he is an unstoppable force, but she is an immovable object.

. . . . .

Luna walks into the large classroom, alone. It has been a while since she entered this room without Taehyung. Where is he? Is he not going to attend at all?

She makes her way up to her usual seat, her mind drifting. She sits down and begins setting up her laptop when she notices someone sitting nearby. Looking to her right, she finds Taehyung sitting in his usual seat, talking to the people in front of him. He has that huge grin plastered to his face, laughing at something they have said.

"Taehyung?" Luna frowns.

He glances at her before looking away, back to the person that he's talking to. That's when Luna finally realises the strange scene in front of her. Taehyung is sitting forward, leaning on the seats in front of him as he chats away happily with Jaemi and her two friends.

Luna stares openly at them, starting to wonder if she is having a fever dream. Why is he suddenly talking to her? He said he barely knew her. Plus, after everything she told him, why is he talking to her like she is his close friend?

As Luna continues to observe the strange behaviour, she finally notices Jaemi is looking at her with a smug grin on her face. This manages to pull Luna from her confusion, bringing her crashing down into reality. She looks away from them, back to her computer with a bitter taste at the back of her mouth. She tries to concentrate on her computer but, almost as if Jaemi knows she is trying to ignore them, she speaks louder.

"TaeTae, what happened between you and Luna?" Jaemi asks, resting her face on her hand while pouting, leaning towards him as much as possible.

"Nothing don't worry about it," Taehyung replies smoothly.

Luna turns her body away from them, only to come face to face with another problem. Her main, most annoying problem.

"Hey, baby," Jungkook grins, "Ready for class?"

She rolls her eyes, turning her body to face the front again as the cloud of idiocy surrounds her.

"Taehyung?"

Luna observes Jaemi and Taehyung out of her peripheral vision. Taehyung is no longer facing Jaemi but facing Luna. She looks up to find his eyes on her. He doesn't look away, just continues to watch her with an unknown emotion in his eyes.

"Taehyung? Are you okay?" Jaemi asks again. Taehyung jumps as her hand gently caresses his arm, simpering as he turns his gaze back to her.

"Sorry," He chuckles, "just something irritating, don't worry,"

Irritating? Boy, you better be talking about Jungkook right now.

"Irritating?" Jungkook repeats, "I think your boyfriend is mad at you,"

"He's not my boyfriend," Luna snaps, "He's barely a friend,"

Taehyung tenses at her words, but he doesn't look back. Obviously, he's listening to them, but why? Why is any of this happening?

"So, can you help me catch up with the classwork?" Jungkook asks, opening his laptop. Seeing him with a laptop is still so strange. Like watching an ogre hold a child's toy.

"Why would I help you?" Luna retorts, returning to her work.

"Because I told the professor that you would," He grins, nudging her with his elbow, "Come on, just a little?"

She rolls her eyes, finally agreeing to something.

"I'll send you what we've done so far," She mutters, "I don't know why you care anyway,"

"Are you kidding?" He laughs, leaning in closer to whisper in her ear, "A Reaper member with an understanding of law? I'd be an asset,"

Luna actually laughs at this. The only thing she can picture is this broad psychopath in a suit and glasses, reading a book. Again, an image of an ogre holding a child's toy.

"Oh my god, can you two get a room?" Taehyung huffs. Luna turns to find him glaring at them, his eyes narrowed slits. Based on Jaemi's pout, she's starting to realise Taehyung is not paying attention to her at all.

Before Luna can retort with a dictionary's worth of insults and curse words, the teacher begins tapping on the podium to alert them to the beginning of class.

"Wow, your boyfriend is grumpy," Jungkook mutters before turning his attention to the teacher.

. . . . .

Luna spends the rest of the day trying to shoo Jungkook away, like an irritating insect, while trying to avoid Taehyung and Jaemi. This is quite a difficult feat considering at least one of them is in all of her classes.

But, at last, school is over, and she is sneakily making a break for the school gates. Sure, she'd like to walk home with Jimin. But if it includes the chance of running into Jungkook, Taehyung, or Jaemi, she'd rather not. Once she is out of that toxic place and making her way down the usual path home, she relaxes a little.

Even with everything that has happened today, with more strange and awkward situations, she has more questions than answers.

Firstly: Jungkook.

She still has no idea what he's really here for. Sure, it could be that he still has feelings for her, but that is very doubtful. She isn't sure if he has ever experienced feelings before, never mind feelings for her. Surely if her brother is involved, he would have sent more than one person, especially not the guy he despises most in The Reapers gang. He knew who her friends were. He could have asked Jimin, not that Jimin would sell her out like that, but he didn't.

None of it is making any sense.

Secondly: Taehyung.

After Jungkook arrived and brought chaos and drama with him, everything has gone to hell. But Taehyung's reaction doesn't make any sense. She could explain away his reaction to Jungkook as being a fight or flight reaction, with his instincts being obviously inclined towards fight. But after today she is more confused than ever. He has been ignoring her, for Jaemi?! Why? Every time she catches glimpses of them hanging out, her first thought is the day he wrinkled his nose in disgust when Luna told him Jaemi will probably ask him out. What is with the sudden 360? Is this some high school drama bullshit, or does Luna really have no idea how normal people work these days? Should she know what Taehyung is doing?

None of it is making any sense.

At least Luna knows why Jimin is distant today. He hates losing a fight, so he would be sulking about losing to Jungkook this morning.

Jaemi on the other hand is also an enigma. She has been really nice to Luna today.

None of this is making any sense.

None of it.

"Luna? Luna!" a voice calls out to her as she makes her way down one of the small streets she takes home. She turns around in confusion.

Ah, speak of the devil.

"Jaemi?" Luna frowns, "What do you want?"

"I saw you were walking alone, and I felt bad," She pouts, puffing up her cheeks, "Can I walk with you?"

"Why would I want that?" Luna asks ludicrously.

"Because you look so lonely and depressed," Jaemi replies, "Plus, I'm walking this way anyway... come on!" Jaemi links her arm with Luna's, pulling her down the little side street.

Jaemi starts talking about something Luna isn't paying attention to. It's not much of a conversation, but every time she laughs Luna has a visceral reaction, like she's clawing at her ears.

Eventually, she pulls out of her grasp, right outside the convenience store. She doesn't want this girl to know where she lives, and she doesn't want to know if she already knows. Luna takes a few steps back, holding her hands up so Jaemi doesn't move closer.

"Okay, that's enough," Luna snaps, "What do you want?"

"What do you mean?" Jaemi asks, tilting her head.

"A person doesn't go from threatening to friendly in a day," Luna explains, "So, what do you want?"

"Well... I don't have anything against you now," Jaemi shrugs, "Taehyung is by my side now, that's all I wanted,"

"Really?" Luna sighs loudly, "Okay, that doesn't mean we are friends now. Just leave me alone in school, that's it, okay?"

Jaemi folds her arms, her entire aura shifting as she begins glaring at her.

"You know, I didn't have to forgive you so easily," Jaemi spits, "I am doing you a favour here,"

"A favour?" Luna groans, "All right, whatever, all is forgiven or whatever – I just want to be left alone, is that something we can at least agree on?"

"No," Jaemi stomps her feet, causing Luna to snort in response, "I don't understand why you don't like me,"

Because you are a rich cow who thinks the world owes you the world. You're annoying, crazy, and two-faced. No one likes you – people tolerate you.

Luna keeps these thoughts to herself. If she's too honest, this girl will keep pestering her.

"We are just not that compatible," Luna explains slowly, "It's not you, it's me,"

Fucks sake, am I breaking up with her?

"Do you think I am a child?" Jaemi scoffs, "Just admit you're jealous of me," She flicks her hair over her shoulder dramatically.

God, can this be any more cliché?

Luna is starting to wonder if the gods are pranking her, filling her new life with all the crazy situations she missed out on in her childhood.

"Okay, sure, I am so jealous of you," Luna replies sarcastically, "I'm going home now,"

As Luna starts to move away, Jaemi grabs her arm and turns her around.

What the fuck is with everyone pulling me around everywhere?

"You go when I say you can go," Jaemi snaps, "No wonder Taehyung hates you now, you're psychotic,"

Almost like a flick has switched in her mind, Luna snaps. She can almost hear the sound of her will breaking under the pressure of her rage. She chuckles, turning her darkening eyes to Jaemi. She smirks and pulls from her grip. Before Jaemi can react, Luna punches her right in the jaw. Jaemi stumbles back onto the ground, gasping loudly as she holds her face with her hand. Tears instantly well in her eyes and slide down her cheeks.

Luna saunters forward, squatting down in front of her. Jaemi flinches, cowering away from her as she trembles.

It was just a punch, how sheltered is she?

"I want you to remember one thing about me, Choi Jaemi," Luna mumbles deeply, "I am not to be fucked with. I know people, dangerous people. So, how about you leave me alone, and we leave this bull shit behind us, hm?"

Jaemi nods her head vigorously, her bottom lip wobbling as she lets out a sob.

"Good girl," Luna growls, standing up, "Goodbye, Jaemi,"

Luna turns and walks away, barely registering the incoherent yells of anger coming from behind her, or the sound of her heart beating in her ears. The only thing on her mind right now is sleep.

(A/N) Ah, fuck Jaemi 😂
