spoilers for fma ahead dont read if you plan to watch it/havent finished it

i've started reading a lot of fma fanfiction again (whoops i like angst ok) and ?? i've realized that in a lot of them, like if its not VaughnGirl or WrathandRain, the author gets Al's character completely wrong. oh dont worry, i did the exact same thing for a year and a half doing my weird imagines things but ?? i swear to gOD al is a BEAN do NOT MESS HIS CHARACTER UP PLEA S E

like ok people like putting stutters in his speech for whatever reason.?? and no thats ?? nnnot how he is. at all. like if you have ACTUALLY READ THE MANGA/SEEN THE ANIMES you'd know that he's secretly a badass. HE's WON EVERY SINGLE FIGHT WITH HIS BROTHER UH??? I DONT THINK THATS STUTTER-WORTHY ALRIGHT

and al's actually a lot more composed in fights than ed, i think. like if you look ed loses ?? himself in his thoughs i guess ???? during fights ???? like during the fight with scar he lost and just accepted death b UT NOOOO THAT DOESNT. MATTER fFUCK

and then in the false wHatever gluttony was (i kNOW i'm working on rereading it ok >:( ) envy's soul things and their screams really got to him. not to say they wouldnt bother al too but ?? i have a feeling al wouldnt let himself get so close to death :/

and ok. during the battle with fAther yes al gave up his soul so ed could have his arm back but i fully believe that he believed that ed would find a way to bring him back. in fact he SAYS IT IN THE STORY SO. hA.

tbh al is my favorite character but i feel like he's really underappreciated even thouh heS A MAIN CHARACTER LAJJCKD JDJNhhhhhHFUCK
