Meeting a religious friend
"You're meeting with who?" Randy asked as he placed his console on his lap. Nomi said that he was meeting with someone he had chat with on a social app Randy had introduced to him. Social Life, a very curious app indeed.
"It's a friend, Randy. Maybe you want to come with me?" Nomi asked jokingly as he opened the door. Randy got curious and followed him to the location they'll be meeting. It looked like a cafe but most of the employee girls are wearing long sleeved clothing and something covering their head. That's new.
"Woah, that's cool. But don't you think they'll be in heat stroke?" Randy asked as they both sat down. Nomi shook his head.
"As far as I know they can actually survive. They might get heat stroke but most of the time they can be healthy." He explained. He called the waiter who's a black man. He's pretty attractive, Randy thought.
"Welcome to Merciful Cafe, my bros. What can I get for ya?" He asked. Randy looked at the menu curiously.
"I'll take a cup of green tea and a slice of chocolate cake. Randy?" Nomi said gently. Randy pointed at the cheese cake and warm tea. The man nod and walked back to the counter. Randy looked around the cafe. It looked clean and new.
"Hey, Nomi? Why's your friend want to meet you here?" He asked. Nomi smiled.
"Well, you'll find out." He said. A few minutes later, someone came in and saw Nomi.
"Nomi, there you are! I'm with a friend if you don't mind." A girl's voice can be heard. She was wearing long sleeved purple skirt with long black pants and like something covering her head. Randy has no clue what it's called. Next to her was a boy in her age wearing a blue shirt and black jacket.
"Hey there, Amira. Who's that guy?" Nomi asked with a smile, but Randy knew there's confusion in him. Amira smiled.
"This is my friend, Ahmad. Sorry we're late." She said and sat down with Nomi. Randy looked at the girl. She seems nice.
"Amira, this is Randy. You already know him don't you?" Nomi introduced. Amira smiled.
"Nice to meet you, Randy. Nomi told me so much about you." She said. Randy nod.
"Nice to meet you too, Amira. Um, what are you wearing on your head?" He asked. She giggled.
"It's called a hijab. Its purpose was to cover a Muslim girl's hair. Religious, I know." She said and ordered her food. Randy was surprised.
"Muslim?" He asked. Nomi chuckled.
"Yes, Randy. Unlike us she and Ahmad are religious Muslims." He explained as their food and drinks are served. Ahmad looked at them and stared a bit before looking at Amira, using hand movements. He's mute? Or...
"Um, Amira? Not to be rude or anything but is he deaf?" Randy asked curiously. Curious boy, they all thought.
"No, he's not deaf. He's mute. He has no ability to speak but he's very smart." She said happily. Ahmad only blushed a bit. Randy smirked.
"So, Ahmad. You like like her?" He asked teasingly. Ahmad blushed and not a bit. Amira smiled.
"Of course he likes me. I am his friend after all." She said innocently. Oh no, Ahmad got friend zoned. Ahmad chuckled a bit as Randy and Nomi looked at them. They are gonna have a rough time.
"Oh yeah, Randy. You and Nomi are together?" Amira asked as she sips her tea. Nomi blushed a bit but Randy was blushing hard.
"Uh, yes?" Randy answered but comes out like a question. She smiled.
"I see." She said. Randy got curious.
"Hey uh, Ahmad? Do you guys like, dislike us or anything?" Randy asked. Ahmad shook his head no. He took his phone and type in something before showing it at Randy.
"We don't hate you, or dislike you. In our beliefs being an LGBT isn't really a right thing but we usually kept quiet about it to prevent a fight or a anything similar to that." He explained. Randy nod as Nomi talked a bit more with Amira.
"So, Nomi. Tell me, are you and Randy happy?" She asked gently. Nomi smiled.
"Of course we are, especially me. I've never met someone as kind and generous as him." He said, blushing. Amira giggled.
"I see, well I hope you'll be happy until the future." They both laughed and continued their talk. After a while they pay for the food and decided to hang out at the park.
"It was pretty nice to finally meet you in person, Nomi. You are what you are, a sweet guy with his boyfriend. Very charming." She teased slightly. Nomi chuckled as Ahmad showed Randy a few photos of him and Amira together. He really does love her.
"Say, dude. Why won't you confess already? Be a couple?" Randy asked. Ahmad type in his phone and showed it to Randy.
"If I do that, I'm scared that she'll then loose her feelings towards me or got awkward because to her I'm her friend. Also, being a couple isn't really a right thing and the reason is because we want to prevent from... Crossing the line, to be precise." Randy understood that last sentence. Nomi told him about that too. He smiled.
"Alright then. I dare you to confess to her once you are ready to marry her. And you'll invite me and Nomi to that wedding if it becomes reality. Deal?" Randy asked smirking. Ahmad nod and shook his head. Randy knew he got himself a pretty good deal.
"Guys, we have to separate ourselves now. Maybe we can meet again?" Amira asked as they got into two paths. Nomi and Randy nod.
"See you guys again!" Randy said cheerfully and Nomi bowed. They left and arrived home. Randy was having fun, that's good for Nomi.
"Hey, Nomi? Can I ask you something?" Randy asked. Nomi nod his head.
"Um, those Muslim friends... Don't you think there's something that happen to their beliefs? They kinda looked tense when we meet up the first time." Randy sat down next to Nomi wondering. Nomi sighed and give him a pitiful smile.
"Randy, life is full of challenges and for them, it's very challenging. They sometimes got called as terrorists for no reason, getting killed by the hands of mean Americans and people who think they are protecting everyone else but they just murdered someone's life and home. They are all over the place, Randy. You just don't realize it sometimes. There's something I discovered about Amira that made me want to talk to her specifically." Nomi explained. His voice showed sympathy and sadness. Randy knew that feeling. He knew it too well.
Related to his father mostly of course.
"What is it, Nomi?" He asked. Nomi smiled slightly.
"They're... They're from Syria... And they both survived from the bomb explosion there. Their home is destroyed and they have no parents at all. They're orphans and that's why I felt pity for them. If I was there I would've attack them but their heart is pure..." Nomi said. Randy can hear his tears. It's flowing. Nomi still continued his memorial story.
"It reminded me of a ninja that I chose who died before he can even use the mask. He was a Muslim as well but he died just to save his family from getting killed. The one who killed him was told that he was threatened to kill the family and do you know what happens next?" Nomi asked. Randy shook his head.
"Punished by sentence to death?" He answered. Nomi said no.
"The family forgives him and gave him a light punishment. That's what Muslims are. They just want peace, harmony, happiness and respect. That ninja was special to me, I declared him with the other ninjas "The Heart of Pure Justice". It was the most wholesome thing I ever seen and thought. That's why I respected them." He said, tears flowing again. Randy smiled as he wiped the tears that Nomi had, even himself.
"Nomi, he was really happy now. I couldn't believe that. But, they are what they are. Why don't we make them have fun again?" He asked and Nomi hugged him dearly. His answer was one word but it packs so much emotion from him.
"Definitely."

B.M: ... It's been a long time since I've done this... Last message. Now please, I know it was unexpected but I want you guys to understand the challenges we've been through. Remember when I said to smile? Well, this is almost the reason. Getting attacked, we try to smile. I cries when I heard the stories. And those bombs and murders, those weren't fake. That actually happened. I changed a bit of the story but if you all are curious, you are welcome to watch any videos of stories on YouTube and news medias. Trust me, they need you in the cold, they need you when they're hungry. I tried to help but all I can do is pray. I hope you'll now see the Muslim in a new perspective. We want peace and harmony, happiness and respect. Not rudeness. Thanks for reading this long message, and I'll see you all in the next stories. Hopefully...
