"Emma, could you get me some water?"

Ray asked the younger girl who had volunteered to help him make dinner for tonight. He held an empty cup in his hand as he asked her. Emma nodded enthusiastically in reply, walking over to the sink with the cup now in her hands as Ray turned his attention back to the pot of cooking food.

After filling up the cup, Emma made her way back to Ray. And held it out slightly in front of her to him.

"Here Ray."

Ray turned to her and as he reached out to take the cup he said.

"Thanks EmMA."

Ray froze, as did Emma. And for a solid minute the duo stood there and just stared at each other in shock. Emma from hearing Ray's voice crack for the first time ever, and Ray for his voice cracking in front of Emma. Emma of all the people in this shelter. And for the first time Ray realized how it felt to want to crawl into a hole and stay in there forever.

The silence was broken when Emma had to stifle a laugh, but failed miserably as not even a second later she burst into laughter. Her eyes closed and her head slightly tilted up, a huge—probably the biggest smile she's ever made in her entire life on her face.

Ray felt his cheeks heat up but he tries to keep his face expression straight.

"Emma! Stop laughing at mE!"

Emma proceeds to start wheezing.

Ray doesn't need a mirror to know his entire face is red. He scolds at her, but it's pretty obvious at this point that he's embarrassed. And the water from the cup spills a bit as Emma bends over slightly.

"EmmA!"

Emma falls to the ground in laughter, dropping the cup and spilling the water everywhere. And Ray's too focused on wanting to crawl into a hole to get mad at her.

Yuugo eventually walks in, he doesn't question the wheezing Emma, or the blushing Ray. He scolds them for dropping the water and to pay attention to the cooking food.

Oh, and it doesn't stop there. Oh boy, you are dead wrong if you think it's gonna stop there.
