(Pick is Beast Boy)
Raven was surprised at how fast she could run, but Ravenpaw was focused on keeping up.
Her thinner frame compared to his broader one made it easier to keep up, as she was more speedy with less weight, whereas he was the opposite.
Still, he managed to keep at least three tail-lengths distance, and Ravenpaw could tell he was holding back.
It was nearly sundown when they finally finished the tour.
"And this is Hare Hill," he said, slowing down. He was breathing a little hard, but he seemed fine. Ravenpaw, on the other paw, was panting heavily.
She took a deep breath and tried to slow her pounding heart, Raven taking back over in the process.
"I'm guessing there are a lot of rabbits here?" Raven asked, looking around.
"Yep."
Suddenly, a rabbit shot out of a hole.
Ravenpaw took over quickly and, on instinct, leaped forward and dug her claws into the rabbit's neck. It trashed for a few seconds before falling limp.
Ravenpaw's eyes widened, and her mouth fell open. "I-I caught it," she mumbled.
Looking back at Ravenfire, the tom looked both calm and shocked. She didn't know how he was doing it, but he was certainly pulling it off.
"Well, that certainly wasn't expected," he stated, padding forward and sniffing it. The rabbit was nearly the same size as Ravenpaw.
"I can't believe I caught it."
"Alright kit, let's go. I'll let you carry it."
Ravenpaw nodded. Raven scowled at the back of her head, but allowed the other mind to stay in control.
Ravenpaw grinned and picked it up, padding after Ravenfire.
When they made it back to camp, Ravenpaw's neck had begun to ache, but it immediately faded when the other cats started looking at her catch.
"Did you catch that?" Robinpaw asked, admiring it.
Ravenpaw nodded, setting the rabbit down and stretching her neck muscles.
"Very good catch, Ravenfire," a new voice said. Ravenpaw turned around to see Blizzardstar looking at the rabbit with interest.
"No, not mine," Ravenfire said, allowing his tail to rest on Ravenpaw's shoulder. "It came out of no where and Ravenpaw here reacted before I did. It's her rabbit."
"Mhmm, and you were just showing her around? No training?"
"None at all, Blizzardstar."
"Well, keep this up an and you'll be a warrior in no time," Blizzardstar said. She gave a nod and padded away, her thick, white tail trailing behind her.
"Very good catch," Nightglare congratulated. "It took Pythonpaw almost a moon to make his first catch."
"It did not!" Pythonpaw snapped back, but with a sort of sibling or close-friend fondness.
"I'm just teasing," Nightglare laughed. The black she-cat gave Ravenfire a glance before padding away.
Raven glanced at Ravenfire, who was still staring after Nightglare. Putting two and two together, Raven sent him a sly smile, tilting her head suggestively.
Ravenfire glanced at her and looked away, pelt ruffling slightly. "Agh, shuddup," he grumbled.
Giving a slight laugh, Raven stopped herself.
What the hell? she thought. The half-demon was never this happy, ever.
"Go get some moss for your nest," Ravenfire said suddenly, seeming to have gotten over the embarrassment of Nightglare.
Raven nodded and allowed Ravenpaw to take the lead, going to the medicine den to get some moss.
"Oh, hello," Bluefeather said as she walked in. The den was a nice patches of soft grass with a few boulders on one side and an oak shading shading it nicely. "Moss is by the tree."
Ravenpaw nodded and padded over to the clump of fresh moss, picking enough up and heading out of the den with a nod of thanks.
On her way, she saw Harecloud, Dapplestorm, Blizzardstar, and Spikefur talking.
It wasn't strange to see Blizzardstar and Spikefur together, as the two were siblings, but with Harecloud and Dapplestorm there too, it had to be important.
Shrugging it off, Ravenpaw headed towards the apprentices den, a patch of grass under a large bush, with enough room underneath for a few nests.
Since there were seven apprentices, a couple had to sleep outside the bush, including Ravenpaw.
Splaying out her miss near the edge on camp but still near the bush, Ravenpaw had her nest ready in a few minutes.
She stretched and yawned, not quite realizing how tired she was.
"Comfortable?" a voice asked, Ravenpaw looked up to see see Pythonpaw laying in the other nest outside the bush. His nest was about two and a half tail-lengths from her's, a slightly bigger because he was older, just under three moons older.
"Yeah."
Pythonpaw paused for a moment. "It didn't actually take me a moon to make my first catch. Nightglare just likes to tease me like that."
Ravenpaw smiled a little. "You two seem close, like, related close. Is she your aunt or something?"
"She and my mum were really close as apprentices and warriors, so yeah, kinda I guess."
"That's cool," Ravenpaw said, sending him a grin. Another short silence hung between them.
Pythonpaw nodded. "Well, goodnight."
"Goodnight," Ravenpaw said, laying her head down and closing her eyes.
In a matter of seconds she was asleep.
