Holly's POV

My name is Holly Potter and I am 10 years old. I have an older brother called Harry and we live with our horrible aunt and uncle's house with their bratty son (and our cousin) Dudley. Our parents died in a car crash when I was barely a few weeks old and Harry was 1.

When I said my aunt and uncle were horrible. I mean they used to be mean to  "Just Harry" (😂Sorry😂) As for me, treated me like a daughter; give me anything, give me a bedroom and treat me well. I had no idea why. But Harry was getting hurt. That all changed. It changed when I stood up to them when I was 9. Since then, they treated me like Harry. Got me mopping the floors, cooking every meal and throwing me to the floor like muck.
But at least we were in this together.

The other day, something odd happened. It was Dudley's birthday and we went to the zoo. The snake wouldn't move so Dudley went away. Me and Harry started talking to it. Its head lifted it and it responded to our questions. Dudley came over and pressed his face on the glass. It disappeared and he fell into the water and the snake escaped. Everyone ran or jumped onto something nearby, scared. But just before it left, it hissed;

"Thankssssssssss...."
"Anytime." Harry responded, unaware what was going on.

But when Dudley got up. The glass was gone. Aunt Petunia and Uncle Vernon were panicking, making us laugh. He turned to us and glared. And of course, we got the blame.

We both have scars. He on his forehead and mine on my neck. Shaped like lightning. I used to hate mine but Ive learned to embrace it.

Then just before September started, we both got letters. Before having them snatched off us by Dudley. They kept coming. Through the chimney on a Sunday. A day when post never came.

And now we're here. A house on a rock. Harry drawing a birthday cake in dust on the floor. 12:00am.

"Happy Birthday Harry." I give Harry a side hug.

"Thanks sis." He blew the dust away, pretending they were candles. Aunt Petunia and Uncle Vernon aren't gonna remember this day. And even if they did, they wouldn't care or dare celebrate it.

A bang on the door. Another. The door crashed down. A man dressed in brown blows Uncle Vernon's shotgun up. Like magic. Then he lit the fire with his umbrella. He knew mine and Harry's names.

"I haven't seen you two since you were little tots. You both have your mother's eyes."

I clutched on to Harry's arm. I'm scared. He gives Harry a real birthday cake. He's never had one of those before.

We began to learn that our parents (Lily and James) were wizards/witches. That they got blown up by an evil source of power. And we got gifted the same magically abilities. I always knew we were different.

"He won't be going!" Uncle Vernon then pointed to me.
"And neither is she."

"And a big o'l muggle like yourself is gonna stop em are ya!?!"

"Muggle?" Me and Harry question.

"Non-magic folk. These two have had their names down ever since they were born! They'll go to Hogwarts and be taught by the greatest headmaster that school's ever had! Albus Dumbledore...!"

"I will not pay to have some old fool teach them magic tricks!"

Hagrid pulls out his umbrella and points it at Uncle Vernon.

"Don't you speak a bad thing about Dumbledore in front of me." He backs away. That's a first. Uncle Vernon scared.

I see Dudley in the back "secretly" eating Harry's birthday cake from Hagrid. Obviously a bit angry, Hagrid puts a tail on him. I giggle which turns into a laugh.

While Petunia and Vernon are fussing over Dudley, Hagrid tells Harry to come with him.

"Wait! What about Holly?" He grabs my hand.

"She's not 11 yet. She goes to Hogwarts next year."

My smile drops.

"Then I'm not going. I can't leave her here."

Hagrid sighs. "Fine. Fine. She can come with you. She'll stay with you in your dorms. I'll just have to convince Professor Mcgonagall. Your transfiguration teacher and head of Gryffindor house.

"Oh thank you Hagrid!" I run up to the (hairy) man and give him a big hug. He smiles.

"Come on. We're running off schedule."

And that's how our adventure began.

Hi! This is my new fanfic based on Harry Potter (obviously). Yes your name is Holly but you can change it if you want to :) . Because Holly is kind of the feminine name of Harry. And yes, this is a Seamus x reader fanfic. I'd recommend you watch the films if you hadn't already because it does include spoilers. I might add some mentions of the book so read some of the books if you want to!
