I'm Raven. Or, at least, that's the only proper name that I was given apart from some random string of characters and numbers that I don't remember. Come close, it's getting late. Let me tell you my story...

----

Chains clamp my torn wings, my mouth, and heavy weights are bound to my legs. They keep forcing me to move, faster, faster. But, I can't. I'm exhausted, and I always have been since the day I hatched in this retched place. I can't say that I'd rather be out in the world, either, because I've never seen it, heard of what the other places in the world are like, and knowing that they exist- sometimes it tortures me. Several hatchlings from my so-called "training group," where they "train" us for battle in horrible ways, join me in this forced march to judgement. Wisps of flame curl up beside us, the scalding, deadly-graceful beauty that is created by us, the dragons. It's a natural skill, for all dragons, but sometimes, like now..

I really wish some dragons were unable to breath fire.

Right now? Yeah, that's one of those "sometimes."

A particularly weak hatchling stumbles, into the path of the flame. I flinch, hearing his screams as heat covers his scales. I know, you'd think that dragons were fireproof for all fire. But of course the dragons here would have their guards have boosted fire, able to break past that natural defensive shield. So great, we're kinda screwed if we get in that kind of fire's path. At this point, with the danger looming at my side, I'm almost tempted to leap inside it, to escape from all of this. Away from everything. Forever.

But a whisp of a memory floats to the surface of my consciousness, an almost silent voice seemingly whispering in my ear. "Don't do it, young hatchling. You have much yet to see. Take their training, and use it for revenge when the time comes..."

Sometimes, I hear it, and I want to force it away. Then in other times, I want it to stay longer. It's almost always the same message. Every time.

I'm shaken back to reality, a deep voice rumbling from ahead. I don't dare look at the
creature from which the sound comes from, in fear of agitating it and sealing my fate. Instead, I watch some of its more obvious motions from the shadow on the stone, heat and light from magma streams trailing lazily down the wall. Huge, bat-like wings spread, almost darkening volcanic liquid with its shadow. A talon flicks in the same way you'd think a king would when he's telling a servant to do something. What a coincidence, this massive drake is a king, so honestly? No surprise for me.

"Who are those three top hatchlings in this group, Bayorth?" The deep, deep red king of this "horrible-place-that-I-plan-to-escape-from-ASAP" asks.

The green-ish dragon, Bayorth, bows his head in submission, then gestures to three of our guards to bring us forwards. I'm shocked, almost terrified when I'm brought forward. How could I be at the top of the group when I barely participate in sessions? Clearly sensing my fear, the King almost purrs in a more... reptilian kind of way. Reptilian purr? Sure, I guess.

"Come forth, young one. I see you there, dark gray in the blue stripes." He nods at me, and I cautiously step forward, knowing that one wrong move could cost me everything. "Don't be afraid, hatchling," he growls, though it's not meant to intimidate me. "I'll always, always be here for you. I'm practically your father. Please, don't be afraid of me. I'm not trying to hurt you." He looks at me, his eyes empty of any emotion. Or, at least, I can't tell what emotions are there. "We brought you here because the outside world was too dangerous for such fragile young creatures like you. We'll train you until you're old enough, and then we'll let you out there with all the other grown dragons. But until then..." His ambitious gaze glimmers with what almost seems like excitement. A strange grin plasters itself on his face, which I vow to rip off with my own talons one day.

"I'll always be watching you, Raven."

A/N

I know, I have like five other books that aren't even possibly, not even nearly close to being half finished- But I had this really vivid dream last night and I couldn't stop thinking about it, and as some (most?) of you know, I'm completely obsessed with How to Train Your Dragon, so I've come right back to Wattpad to begin writing yet another "book" (which I will most likely not finish, AGAIN.) that includes some characters based on HTTYD, and lots of which are my personal OCs (Original Characters/Own Characters), including Raven and some other dragons you'll later find out about :) I also write really short chapters because I'm just absolutely horrible at lengthening my stuff..? So yeah, sorry that you'll all have to deal with short chapters- I know, I kinda hate my own short chapters, too. (String of "emojis" showing my emotions about my short chapters--> ;-; :p :( ;;;;;;;;;;-;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;; :PPPPPPPPPPppppPPPPPpppPPPPPPP :(((((((CCCC(C(C(C(C(C(C(C(C(C(C(C :CCCcCcCc ;c. Yeah.)

Yeah, I'm really weird like this. Writing six books at the same time can't POSSIBLY not be weird for a person, right? Anyway, I've to head to bed for tonight, and I'm hoping to update this soon!

Bye, and have a great day/night/whatever! (Time periods are STRANGE. And by that, I mean REALLY REALLY REALLYREALLYREALLY STRANGE!)
