ThunderClan trudged up towards WindClan. The rain was driving down hard as ever. Lilyflower looked down at Ravenkit, clutched in her jaws. She turned to stare anxiously at her mate Robinwing,
who was carrying Cloudkit. "Do you think we can make it"? Lilyflower whispered anxiously to Robinwing. "I hope so". he murmured back. ThunderClan had been flooded. The hollow had filled with six inches of rain water and ThunderClan had been forced to come up to WindClan where the found was higher.  They had made it to the stream. The stream was swollen and moving fast. The clan gathered anxiously at the bank. "Where are the stepping stones"? Yowled Duskfur. "It appears", meowed Sunstar slowly, "That the floodwater has covered up the stones. The clan murmured worriedly together. "I say we swim"! Announced the deputy, Whiteblaze staring impressively around. "We can't stay here, the floodwater will eventually reach us". "True...", Mewed Sunstar thoughtfully, gazing intently at Whiteblaze. "But, but what about the kits"! Mistleleaf mewed impatiently. "They'll... Make it". Meowed Sunstar unable to suppress a waver of anxiety in his voice. Sunstar sighed, "We have to take the risk, it's the only way we'll survive. Sunstar stepped to the edge of the bank and plunged in. The rest of the cats followed. Lilyflower felt freezing water wash through her fur as she plunged into the stream. The water was up to her chin, and the current was so strong that she had to dug her claws into the rocky soil at the bottom. Lilyflower struggled forward. Suddenly a large branch slammed into her and she was knocked off her feet. Her jaws opened in a wail of terror and Ravenkit fell into the water. "No, Ravenkit... Ravenkit..!" she screeched. She lunged forward paddling wildy towards her flailing kit, but the current was to fast, Ravenkit was being swept away, and she couldn't reach her.
             Ravenkit flailed her legs, trying desperately to keep her head above the water. Ravenkit was swept down the river at one point going under a bridge. She finally came out into a large lake. By that point she was very tired of keeping her head afloat. Ravenkit drifted lazily farther into the lake. Finally she came to rest on the shore of a small island, and drifted asleep.
