Dear reader,

This was my contribution to the ONC 2022. The Open Novella Contest is the one contest on Wattpad that truly helps writers connect, exchange ideas, and push each other to new heights of creativity.

The prompt that set the creative gears in my head turning this year was this one:

#67 - while working on a case, you come across a newspaper dated 25 years ago, and when you start reading, an article catches your attention

Of course, a bunch of other prompts are integrated into the story too, and some of you might even recognise them. And as usual, the story got out of hand and demanded for a few more detailed descriptions and additional chapters once ONC was finished. I'm currently uploading a new, expanded version. So, don't fret if there are a few chapters missing. I'll republish them in the next few days, all new and shiny.
