Popular vs Bitches.

Kira's P.O.V.

"That I had a beautiful niece... HELL yeah I knew..." For some reason I didn't like her accusation.

"Why did you tell me...?" She looked defeated and broken which nearly broke my heart and that's when I realised Caleb was still holding on to me. I craned my neck back to look up at him letting him know that was I was calm enough for him to let me go.

"It wasn't for her to tell you... it was me who should have..." Shane spoke up -with pure self-loathing in his voice- form beside me just as when Caleb slowly put me down on the ground.

"Well you're not as faithful then... I'm her best friend and I have her back..." Brooke scolded stepping forward towards us. "This is what you "popular" people do... always play with the innocent one... and you all have no hearts..." She screamed throwing a tantrum. I couldn't shake of the feeling that her outburst wasn't in Lacey's defence, it was more directed towards Shane for doing what he did with Brooke.

"Oh really? Is that why you set your best friend up at the party?" Caleb's accusing hoarse voice startled everyone. "Is that why my brother saw you get out of the same room that they happened to be in...?" I looked up to my side to see his determine face.

"I-I don't know what you're talking about..." Brooke's whole body language changed as she crossed her arms in a defensive position over her body.

"Yes you do... You're the one who sent that picture to Shane so that he would believe that she was cheating on him and break up with her... YOU BITCH." At that moment every inch of my body was screaming murder, I lunged towards her again to be stopped my Caleb in the same way... again.

"IT WASN'T MY IDEA." Brooke screamed out not realising exactly what words came out of her mouth, after when she registered what she just said, she quickly turned to Lacey with a pleading expression. "That's not what I meant-"

Smack

Caleb set me on my feet again right when Lacey's right palm connected with Brooke's cheeks. I mentally cheered that girl for breaking out of her shell and for the first time standing up for herself. I heard loud gasps and little mummers arise form the crowd.

"You... HOW COULD YOU?" She turned towards Brooke screaming at her face. However Brooke stayed silent for a while with her hand cupping the cheek that I presume was on fire.

"You STOLE him from me..." She retorted back.

"I was NEVER YOURS." Shane walked forward towards Lacey but she brushed him off.

"Did you forget those nig-" Before she could finish her poisoned sentence I butted in knowing exactly what she was about to do.

"SHUT UP..." I screamed balling my hands in fists. "You think you're better than all of us... just because you don't fall under the "popular" category?" I mocked. "You think we all have perfect lives? You think none of us ever have PROBLEMS?" Before I knew it I was face to face with Brooke.

"You all ruin people like us..." She retorted back.

"No..." I breathed out. "YOU ruined yourself and your 'best friend' and you know what... NONE of us girls will ever screw their best friends up like that..." I gestured towards the side of the crowd where the girls from our group stood shaking their heads in agreement.

"You all are BULLIES." She stepped back from me.

"At this moment YOU'RE the one who is bullying YOUR OWN 'best friend' and also get this in your thick little skull that WE are not perfect you don't know what the HELL we've been through." I stepped forward.

"I did it for her own good..." She turned towards Lacey who was standing inches away from Shane. "Don't you see... He will just use you and leave you." Her manipulative and deceiving words weren't working on Lacey as she turned her head away from her in disgust.

"NO I won't because I LOVE her." Shane shot back clenching his fists.

"You're-" Her words were cut short when the back of my hand impacted with her other cheek.

"That's for messing with my family and dragging Saira's into his." I shot her a disgusted glare before turning around stalking over to Saira.

"Stay the HELL away from me." I heard Lacey threaten Brooke before stalking off on her own in the other direction. I faintly heard Shane call her name couple of times as he tried to catch up with her. The mummers from the crowd erupted as they made their way inside of the building.

"I'm so sorry." I cooed engulfing Saira in a tight hug.

"People are gonna think I'm a heartless bitch." She sobbed wrapping her long arms circle around my back.

"No... let them say what ever they want, you never listened to them and you shouldn't now. They-" My lecture was cut short when I felt a hand gently being pressed on my back. I released Saira to look up at Brody nodding at me with a forced smile.

"It's okay K" She squeezed me to her side before letting go. I respectfully backed away watching Brody tightly wrap his muscular arms around her fragile body while she cried into his shoulder.

I never took Brody for the type of guy who would actually care about a girl in these situations let alone someone with a baby. My heart swelled up watching him comfort her as he gently stroke her back cooing 'it's gonna be okay' in her ear.

"Kira..." Caleb tugged on my wrist from my side.

"Fuck..." I sighed making him half smile.

"Are you okay?" He inquired.

"I think so... but...?"

"I saw it..." Brody cut me off as he lifted his head up turning towards me but his arms on Saira remained in their previous position across her back. "I didn't really know what it meant but I saw her with some guy from our grade getting out of the room so I thought it was empty and I ...well" I saw Saira blush and look away.

"Ohh.. ohh erm... next..." I widened my eyes creasing my bottom lip to one side at the thought of Saira and Brody getting it on at the party.

"So... erm..." He scratched the back of his neck looking sheepish. "We went in and then we saw Devon and Lacey..." He stopped, searching for the right word to finish of his sentence.

"I know carry on..." I encouraged.

"We didn't know what to do so we kept our mouth shut, until I realised how hurt Shane was so..." He looked at Saira asking for her to continue.

"So I confronted Lacey about it... because I actually thought she was a sweet girl but after seeing her in bed with D ... it wasn't right... we didn't know about the picture or that she was actually set up until you came in." She explained.

"So Brooke and the other guy set them up?" Caleb asked for reassurance. "But why?"

"Obviously she's jealous of Lacey 'cause I've seen how she tries to keep Lacey in shadows but then when Shane noticed her, he went crazy over her so you know... the whole Cinderella and Prince Charming story happened." I waved off.

"Well we're gonna go... okay..." Brody nodded towards me and Caleb before stalking off with his arms wrapped around Saira's waist. I sighed turning towards Caleb with an astonishment look.

"I don't know what to say..." I was dumbfounded for moment.

"That back hand was EPIC." Caleb laughed throwing his head back.

"She deserved it you know." I creased my nose looking away towards the parking lot only to spot the man from yesterday. He was effortlessly leaning against a black shiny rolls royce ghost, wearing similar clothes form yesterday.

He had a distinct smirk on his face which suddenly made me remember the conversation Shane and Aunty P were having and I dreaded the thought of them confronting me about it today like they said they would.

My breath hitched at the back of my throat which stopped my brain to work for a while.

"Kira what is it?" Caleb's broad chest appeared in front of me blocking the view of the man as he placed both his hands on my upper arm to hunch down to my eye level locking my gaze with his dark eyes.

"That man... from yesterday..." I moved slightly to get back in line with the view. "I wanna talk to him..." I looked up at Caleb almost asking for his permission. A wave of concern and possessiveness washed over his face before he nodded his head in agreement.

"But I'm coming with you." He took my small hand in his large hand intertwining my fingers with his.

"I knew you would say that." I sighed of relief with a half smile lingering on my lips. I lightly tugged his hand indicating for him to walk with me.

I already knew we were late for our first class but I had better things to worry about than Maths. As we approached him, he stepped away from his car walking slowly towards us with a smug look on his face.

"Quite a show you got there..." I stopped couple of feet away from us with his feet apart while his hands were clasped behind him. There was a tint of amusement in his voice foreshadowing the roughness round the edges.

"Yeah... but who are you?" I tried to realise my hand from Caleb's grip but the more I struggled the tighter he held on to it.

"Ohh... So I guess Penelope and Shane have been keeping secrets from you huh?" I didn't miss malicious look on his face when he pronounced their name while his voice was dripping with evil amusement.

"We all have secrets." I stood stiffer trying to match his intimidating persona.

"Indeed... But I wonder why they haven't told you about me..." The smirk on his face made me realise why Shane wanted to punch him when he saw him. Every inch of him screamed danger but somehow I wasn't scared of him for some reason.

"Well I guess that's none of you business but who the HELL are you?" The irritation of him dodging my question made my body itch. "Let me tell you, I'm not a very patient person so just tell me..."

The man's smirk was replaced by a pure grin of excitement before he took couple of steps forward. "I guess we have something in common then..."

"Kira let's go..." Caleb stepped back trying to pull me with him.

"I-" Just as I was about to speak, the man rudely interrupted me.

"I doubt she'll listen to you." He stated with confidence.

"You think you know me?" Although I didn't want to leave but I still stepped back feeling uncomfortable with the proximity of space between us.

"Now why wouldn't a father know his own child?"
