The raven haired girl casted an ice cold gaze upon the old man. "To have a man like you become the chairman of such an important organisation, I sympathise the world. And to think I'm trying to become a fellow hunter." Bright red orbs shined under her black bangs.

The older man could only laugh while stroking his beard which to Raven— now revealed as Reiko— was disgusting. "Ahh.. You know an old man like me enjoys challenges, no job in the world is more challenging than being the chairman of the richest and strongest organisation!" He stretched out his arms on each side as if holding the Earth with his own hands. It was so disgusting to her.

"Of course I remember, you selfish bastard." She stood up and stomped all the way to stand right in front of the extremely powerful man. "If it wasn't for you, I wouldn't have suffered all those years! If it wasn't because of your stupid greed and stupid hobby to fight someone more powerful than you, I could have lived a normal life!"

"Wrong." He calmly responded to her outburst.

The younger girl scrunched her eyebrows in confusion and anger, "What?"

"You suffered because you weren't strong enough. You couldn't break free from your father. Because of how miserably you have lived your life, how sorry you felt for yourself, you could only blame someone else to feel better." He then broke into a fake smile, "Now who is the selfish one?"

Flames rose and flushed her cheeks, her breathing became heavy and her chest heaved, her fingers dug into her palms. As her body shook, her voice shook along, "You could have saved me." She whispered. She hated herself. She hated herself for being so weak in the presence of whom she hated for as long as she could remember. "You were a hunter."

"Indeed I was, but saving you was not my mission." He looked at her with eyes that looked so evil, so mad to her. He was insane. "I was not obliged to save a person, much less you."

She was taken aback at how.. how inhumane he was. At the back of the mind, she snickered. It wasn't like I'm anywhere near being human too. They were both mutuals, they weren't human. He loved challenges, she loved pain. Both would go to great lengths to reach for their pleasure. Who is to say everyone in this world is completely human at heart? Wearing the mask of a human, but nobody's heart is shown.

"But I must admit.. I was excited to meet you after your father was done with you. Actually, I have been keeping track of your progress and whereabouts." His wicked smile returned, "I knew you would be here."

For the first time in her life ever since that day, she feared a person.

"But you are still young, the power within you has yet to mature.. I will wait." With that, the old man turned around and left the room. Reiko dropped to her knees and placed both her hands on the floor to support herself. She hated herself. She resented herself. For being so weak, so defenceless. Everybody fear her, but she fears him. As soon as she reached for her knife hidden in her boots, her eyes turned a very vivid red. Those same eyes stared hatefully at her pale thighs and dragged the knife across the many scars. The sharp pain tore open her skin, blood of the same colour of her eyes oozed out, letting out all of her frustration.

Pain was her escape, her comfort.

A smile graced her lips.

Her pleasure.

Soon enough, the airship landed on the rooftop of a tall stone building and every remaining participant got out. Everybody started talking about the area and the third examination.

"This could finally be a battlefield." Some said.

While some commented about the environment, "There's nothing here.. not a single living thing."

Bean stepped forward, "You are on Trick Tower, where the third phase will take place. Regarding the trial itself, the jury's order is getting to the bottom of the tower within 72 hours. May the trials begin, good luck!" With that, he left us with the huge airship.

All the participants looked at each other, hoping someone could give an idea on what to do or how to get to the bottom. The place was suspicious and way too quiet. They were given 72 hours, but there was nothing there to stop them? Aside from a method to go down, nothing visible was found to challenge them. Nobody knew what the point of this phase was.

"There are no windows, we can't climb down.."

One arrogant man with a body builder's body said arrogantly, "For regular people, of course not. To me, this is a piece of ca--" He already began climbing down as he said his sentence, but he couldn't finish it because.. "AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" The sweet melody reached Reiko's ears, her heart fluttered in excitement. Oh how in love she was with pain. She watched the guy get eaten alive by huge cannibal birds. His limbs ripped apart in mid air, a smaller bird caught his falling organs and swallowed it fresh. The ravenette licked her lips as her eyes gleamed. The scene excites her very much and his screams were music to her sadistic ears.

A blonde adolescent looked at her, he did not know what to feel about her. Kurapika was intrigued, confused and disgusted, all at the same time. He was overwhelmed by the girl's peculiar behaviours. It was nothing like he had seen before. Meanwhile, Hisoka was even more aroused. She was very interesting to him.

"Leorio! Kurapika!" Gon called, which pulled Kurapika away from the mysterious girl. "We found a way down!"

"Oh?" Kurapika and Leorio exchanged looks. "How?"

The two younger kids brought them to where they found the trap doors which would lead them inside. Each of them stood next to one. "Five doors and each one are close to each other.." Leorio pointed out. "I don't like this.."

"They might lead us to traps." Kurapika said suspiciously.

Gon began to explain, "It seems the trap door only works once."

"Yeah. By chance, we saw someone stepped into the trap door, but we couldn't use the same door because it was blocked." Killua added.

Leorio kneeled on a knee and measured the passage size, "It looks like it can only fit one person.."

"That's right." Gon agreed.

"Gon and I decided to pass through each of these trap doors." Killua stated.

"What about both of you?" Gon asked the other two.

"I guess I'm fine with it.." Leorio said while scratching his head.

"Wait, since there are five doors, why don't we invite Raven to join us?" Suggested Kurapika.

Oblivious to them, the said girl was already nearby and eavesdropping their conversation. It was very obvious that the team was up to something since everybody else just walked around looking for ways to go down. "I would love to."

I apologise for not actively update this, Reiko's personality is very difficult to write and it's only effective when I write this in 'that' mood. But tbh I haven't been feeling that very much so it takes extra time for me to get into character. :(
