| Revenge | Chapter Ten

Moth is gone now.

No one needs me with them...

The conditions are right, really...

It's time to avenge my parents.

She padded across the twoleg bridge over the gorge and made her way into the forest. She could still see her parents' faces, covered in blood, terrified.

She made it to the camp. She stood at the wall of camp, watching. There. There was the huge warrior who had killed her parents, heading out on a solo patrol... Raven followed the warrior, and the warrior crouched up on a squirrel.

Raven leapt out, scaring the squirrel away.

"Guess I scared it off... Again." She snickered.

"What do you want?" The warrior growled.

"Revenge." Raven leapt at the warrior, knocking them to the ground.

The warrior kicked her back legs and knocked Raven off.

Raven coughed and the whole weight of the warrior was on her.

"Now I remember. You're that kit." The warrior growled.

"I am." Raven snarled.

Raven lunged for the warrior's shoulder, tearing out a chunk of flesh. The warrior screeched, falling to the ground.

"You crazy-" The warrior leaped at Raven.

The warrior slashed Raven's eye. Raven couldn't see and there was searing pain. She lunged blindly and felt her jaws fasten around the warrior, and bit down.

The warrior let out a scream, and Raven heard a thud. Raven panted, her slashed eye throbbing with pain. She struggled to stagger forwards.

"Mahoganyfall!" A cat screeched. "No!"

Raven watched the cat curl around Mahoganyfall's body. Raven realized how violently she had killed Mahoganyfall... She almost felt like the warrior didn't deserve it.

She killed my parents. She must pay.

The cat sobbed, burying their face into Mahoganyfall's pelt.

"We were going to have kits together..." The cat sobbed, then turned to Raven.
"Get out of here, you filthy rogue!"

Raven snarled and sprinted away. When she made it to the hills, she tumbled to the ground. She laid there, panting, her eye bleeding out onto the ground. She heard pawsteps behind her.

"Raven... What happened? Are you okay?" Thymefeather asked, leaning down.

"I got revenge," Raven replied, coughing. "For my parents."

Thymefeather grabbed Raven's scruff and carried her to her den. They put her down in the nest, and put marigold, celandine and cobweb on her eye. She shuddered at the marigold.

"Are you okay? Not just physically." Thymefeather asked.

"I-I'm fine." She answered.

That warrior was going to have kits... I'm a monster... Raven thought, staring straight ahead.

"That was dangerous, Raven. You shouldn't do that." Thymefeather murmured. "You're lucky to have gotten out of that."

Raven nodded mutely.
