| Apart of a Clan | Chapter Seven
The cat looked annoyed.
"And why would you want to do that?" She asked.
"B-because..." Moth mumbled. "I feel like I'm not really welcome where I am. It doesn't feel right..."
"...Oh." The cat's fur laid flat. "I know how that feels. I used to be ThunderClan."
"You do?" Moth's ears lifted.
"Yeah! And you don't seem like you're a thief or anything. Tell you what, I'll ask the leader of you can join." The cat meowed, her eyes shining.
"Okay! What's your name? I'm Moth." Moth replied.
"My name is Foxgust!" She answered.
"You've got some fluffy fur, huh? Is it annoying when it falls over your eye like that?" Moth asked.
"Oh... Not... Not really." Foxgust mumbled, slightly uncomfortable.
"Is something wrong?' Moth asked.
"Oh- Erm- I've, uh, gotten used to it! It's not really much of a p-problem." Foxgust replied uneasily.
She must be hiding something. Well, that's alright! Moth thought.
They padded into camp. The leader, a tortoise shell, laid on the rock above.
"Pipitstar!" Foxgust called. "This loner wants to join."
The leader leapt down. He was very short for a tom, only coming up to Moth's shoulder.
"Hello. How can we trust you?" He asked.
"Because I don't come from around her so I don't know how to betray a Clan cat." Moth replied.
Pipitstar laughed. "Well, you'll need to learn things to live around here. You might as well join."
"Alright!" Moth gasped.
"I will hold your ceremony at sunrise tomorrow. You can sleep outside on a spare nest for now, because it'll be hard to explain to half asleep cats what you're doing in camp." Pipitstar meowed, pointing with his tail to a nest by the entrance.
Moth and Foxgust padded over to the nest, and Moth sat down.
"So, where do you come from?" Foxgust asked.
"Far away. I was born by a huge lake but two legs came, and I escaped with my mother. She died just before we made it over the mountains." Moth replied.
"Then you came here?" Foxgust asked.
"No. I lived with a cat named Raven first. She was nice, but I just felt like... I dunno." Moth answered. "I just felt like she was controlling. She probably just wanted what was best for me, but I snuck out and came here."
"Oh. That's too bad. But don't worry, because you'll fit in just right in RiverClan!" Foxgust meowed cheerfully.
