The Ancients (V.2)
Clan name: The Ancients. Cool!
Clan name reasoning: the 'Ancients' part is because they have big cats in the clans, and of course big cats are ancient according to the clans. Alright, that makes sense.
Clan territory: mostly woodlands. The trees are tall, as tall as jungle trees, but the trees are not jungle trees, they are oak trees. The camp is a hollow with a waterfall in it (I'll talk more about it in the clan's camp category). The waterfall is fed by the Dangerous River, a river that runs through the territory. Only the big cats can swim in the river, so the little cats ride on their big cat's backs to get across. Half-way down the river the river is fed by the Crystal Falls, a giant waterfall that glistens in the sunlight. In the crevasses in the rocks, water voles are running about. The place is covered in water voles. It's the best place for hunting patrols and training. The river feeds Crystal Lake which shines and shimmers even if it's cloudy. The river is clear, you can see the bottom even in the murkiest parts. Going east you run into Tulip Meadow, a meadow full of flowers. Shades of fiery oranges, blue jay blues, a sunset pink here and there. Heading north from Tulip Meadow you find Deer Mountains. The mountains take an hour to climb up and an hour to climb down. Mountain goats like it up there, but the cats call them mountain deer. The deer is how the mountains got their name. Heading east from the mountains you run into Lilac Pond. In the center of the pond a small island stands, with a single oak sapling in the center. Around the sapling are clusters and clusters of lilacs, which is how the pond got its name. The water is clear and the cats can see Koi darting around. The Koi are hard to catch, and only fishing cats are able to catch the fast, swift, fish. Heading north from the pond you run into the Tall Trees. The Tall Trees are a cluster of giant redwoods. The branches grow close together, and cats with high climbing skills learn to jump from branch to branch, like squirrels. In fact, the cats hunt squirrels up there, having tree races through the thick canopy. The rest of the territory is just woodlands. Very detailed! I appreciate all the work that went into so many details. Their territory seems very unique, and I love the sound of the Lilac Pond; I'd pay money to chill there.
Clan camp: A hollow made from a small comet. The cats carved out the dens: the Queen or King's den, the Princess or Prince's den. The Ancestor talker's den, the Stalker's den, the new-stalkers den, the Cub-givers and Cubs' den, the Elder's den, the Protectors' den, the New-protectors den, the Protector givers and Cub-protectors den, and the Elder-protectors den. The Queen's den is behind the waterfall. A ledge sticks out, where the Queen announces stuff in a meeting. The ledge is called the Falledge. The waterfall makes a pool for the cats to drink out of, so they don't have to walk to get water. There are shrubs along the edge of the hollow where the cubs play hide and seek. There are two prey piles, one for the big prey like deer, boars, and mountain deer, and one for the little prey like mice, rabbits, and birds. In one corner there are flat rocks to bask in the sun, and a tree in one corner to rest in the shade. In another corner, where the cliff is most steep, there is a bunch of thorn bushes, so if any enemies fall, they have a long painful fall, followed by falling in a bunch of thorns. I like the addition of the camp being made by a comet! That's cool. Again, I appreciate the details put into this.
Clan members:
Queen or King: Meadowstar - Golden she-cat with darker gold stripes and amber eyes. Alright!
Big cat: Lily (cheetah) is there any other description for her? Eye colour, etc?
New-stalker: Redpaw. Again, do they have a description?
Prince or Princess: Cresentshadow - A white tom with a black splotch on his forehead and ice-blue eyes. Okay.
Big cat: Snowy (Snow leopard) Again, description. This goes for the rest of the cats without descriptions.
New-stalker: Riverpaw
Destinypool - A black she-cat with deep blue eyes. Alright!
Big cat: Splotch (black jaguar )
New-stalker: Troutpaw
Clan lore: when the ancient clans roamed the forest (Tigerclan, Lionclan, and Leopardclan) some cats split off to find more species. On their journey, they found many different species of big cats but never went back. Eventually, they found a nice place and decided to stay and make it their home. One day some twolegs that were probably Vikings, travelled through the territory. As you all know Vikings practically Worshipped cats. Some of the cats decided to escape and they found the big cats. The big cat took them under their wing and they all made a clan together. Meadowstar was a cub back then so that proves that some of the founders still live today, such as Destinypool, Spottedmist, and Wolffur. Which timeline is this? A cat couldn't possibly be alive unless the modern-day Clan lives less than 30 years after the Viking encounter.
Clan skills: That depends on the cat. Here are some examples:
Cats with black fur: great at hunting at night and in the shadows. Makes sense.
Cat with white fur: great at hunting in the snow. Fair enough.
Clouded leopard: great and climbing and hunting squirrels through the treetops. Okay!
Fishing cat: great at swimming and fishing. Fair.
Lion: powerful and strong. Yep, I would think so!
Clan demeanour: The ancients are strong, territorial, fearless, yet kind and caring. Alright.
Favourite prey: Mountain deer, moose, bears, salmon, rabbits, and pike. Cool! But a bear is a pretty huge and dangerous prey; I'm not sure how often they'd be able to catch those.
Unique assets: NAMING SYSTEM:
Leader = Queen or King.
Deputy = Prince or Princess
Medicine cat = Ancestor stalker
Warriors = Stalkers
Apprentices = New-stalkers
Queens = Cub givers
Kits = Cubs
Elders = Elders
Big cat leader = Protector King or Queen
Big cat deputy = Protector Prince or Princess
Big cat medicine cat = Protector Ancestor stalker
Big cat warriors = Protectors
Big cat apprentices = New-protectors
Big cat Queens = Protector givers
Big cat Kits = Protector-cubs
Big cat elders = Elder-Protector
Alright, that makes sense! I like the ranks.
BELIEFS: They don't follow Starclan, they follow The Ancient Ancestors. Cool.
RITUALS: Once a cub is born it will be paired up with a protector cub that has the same skills as them. That bond will be a lifelong bond that cannot be broken. What happens if there are no protector cubs to be paired with the cubs or vice versa? Do they just have to wait?
Other clans:(The only other clan that will live near them only appears in book three and up). The Ancient Pack is the only other clan that lives near them. Is there anything to know about the Ancient Pack? Who are they?
Clan code and rules. They follow the same warrior code as the clans in the forest. Okay.
RULES: The lifelong bond cannot be broken. They must die at the same time. Here is an example: The big cat dies in a battle. The cat that was bonded to it must kill itself so they can both enter The Ancient Ancestors at the same time. The clan does not count it as suicide. Wow, loyalty to the extreme. What if a cat refuses to kill themselves after the death of their cat? And what if a cub/protecter cub dies as a young cat? Would their pair still end themselves, at such a young age?
Extra: none. Cool.
Overall, The Ancients have definitely improved since the last time I reviewed them! The details are great, and they are quite unique as a whole! I give them a 9/10. There are a few areas that are lacking some details, but that's okay.
