Name: Beetlestar. Alright! Beetle is a pretty cool prefix, and I don't see it used often!

Name reasoning: I just wanted to stick with the B thing like his brother and father. A name is a huge part of a character. It's better to put some thought into it and name them after their physical traits, personality, a great deed they did, important deceased kin, etc, and not just a letter theme. 

Other names: Beetlekit, Beetlepaw, Beetleclaw. Claw is a pretty generic suffix; that doesn't mean it's bad, but unique names are better. And they also have to have a reason. What was the reason that he received 'claw' as a suffix? 

Clan: StarClan. Okay! I presume he passed away? 

Past Clans: Forestclan (Their territory takes up most of the forest and was renamed because, well, they live in a forest) Okay. A bit plain, but that's okay. 

Gender: Male. Alright.

Sexuality: Straight. Not much to say here!

Appearance: Short-haired, light brown tabby with darker stripes, legs, ears, and tail. Raccoon mask, green eyes. A scar on the throat. Okay, a couple more details would be nice. This explains him basically, but more descriptive terms and small details couldn't hurt. 

Personality: Quiet, Forgiving, Strict, Kind, Caring, Bold, Cooperative. Okay, again, a few more additions here would be great. Balance negative with positive a bit more. 

Mate: Sundrop (formally Mothcloud. A yellow, medium haired she-cat. Darker orange cape, legs, and tail. Pale chest, mouth, stomach, and tail tip. Yellow eyes and a scar across the left eye) Okay. Did her name change, or what?

Kits: 

Marigoldpaw (medium-haired, calico she-cat. One blue eye and one green eye, deceased) Aw, poor thing. 

Pinepaw (medium-haired, brown tabby tom with a white chest, belly, and jaw. Brown eyes, deceased) What happened to the two of them? 

Dewstar (medium-haired, gray tom. lighter gray with two front legs, chest, stomach, tail tip, ear tips, and jaw. Darker gray cape and back legs. Blue eyes) Alright! A leader lineage. 

Other Family~

Father: Brokenheart (I don't have a ref for him yet but he's a dark brown tom, deceased) Okay, again, details, I know you don't have a ref, but just quick, easily changeable details like eye colour, pelt length, patterning, etc. It's not hard to make a fast appearance for a secondary or background character. 

Mother: Morningclaw (Again, I don't have a ref for her but she's a pale she-cat, deceased) Pale what? Yellow, ginger, gray, etc? 

 Brother: Branchsoar (Dark pale tom with darker pale stripes. Yellow eyes, dead) Okay. But 'Dark pale' doesn't make a lot of sense! They're two opposite descriptions. 

Cause of Death: Killed by Sundrop. His mate? Why? And did that one attack drain all of his lives? If not, what were the causes of death for the other eight lives? 

Rank at Death: Leader. Okay.

Past Ranks: Kit, Apprentice, Warrior, Deputy. Alright. 

Good Traits: Cooperative, King, Caring, Forgiving. Cool.

Bad Traits: Quiet, Strict. Quiet can be a good, or bad trait depending on how quiet he is. Is he so quiet that he literally doesn't talk, almost at all, or just prefers to keep chatting at a minimum? And a couple more details would be good here to balance with the good traits. Four good and two bad isn't a good ratio.

Pretty balanced! But if he was a leader, I'd presume he'd have better leadership skills. 

Likes: Sun, Kits, Watching Apprentices Train, New-Leaf, Branchsoar. Fair enough. 

Dislikes: Marshclan, Falling in Water, Swimming, Sundrop, Death. Who's MarshClan? And I get that Sundrop killed him, and that is fairground for disliking her, but what made them dislike each other so strongly that a murder was committed in the first place? 

Scars: Beetlestar has one major scar: on his throat. His father sliced his throat when he found out he killed Morningclaw (getting Brokenheart banished) so he could be punished for the last time and not say anything again. He's my mute leader! (The deputy at the time, Branchsoar, before Dewstar became deputy, would call Clan meetings and talk at Gatherings, but he'd still be present right behind him, just not saying anything) Wait, his father killed his mate? Why? And a mute leader is pretty tough. I get that his deputy talked for him, but how would he know what to say? What about giving a cat its warrior name, or making an important decision that the deputy wasn't a part of? That would be very difficult to navigate. I'm not saying that cats with disabilities or other impairments cannot be leaders, it's just fairly uncommon and would cause a multitude of issues to arise. At that point, the deputy would basically just be the leader without the nine lives. 

Backstory: Beetlestar was born to Brokenheart and Morningclaw along with his brother, Branchsoar. As an apprentice, he was abused by his father and became mute once he found out Brokenheart killed the deputy and his mother, Morningclaw. Why did his father abuse him? Did he think he was too soft, too quiet, wasn't training hard enough, etc? And you can't just 'become mute' completely. Trauma-included selective mutism sometimes makes a character unable to speak in front of their abuser, or in the area where they were hurt. Unless an injury or birth defect wreaks the character's vocal cords/ throat, they cannot become completely mute, as far as I know. They would at least be able to make some sounds. And why did Brokenheart kill his own mate, and the deputy? Sure, power hunger is obvious in the deputy's case, but why an innocent queen, and the mother of his kits? 

As a warrior, he was given his first apprentice, Ratstorm, and together, they formed a language so Beetleclaw could communicate. Not long after, Fernstar named Beetleclaw the deputy of Forestclan, for the past deputy had died. That's a bit soon to become deputy. Surely there would be more experienced cats in the Clan that didn't have a speech impairment, and weren't so young? 

He fell in love with Mothcloud and had kits, Dewkit, Marigoldkit, and Pinekit. Fernstar died, he became leader and made Branchsoar the deputy. His kits were named apprentices, shortly later Marigoldpaw and Pinepaw died to Greencough. Poor things! 

Dewpaw became Dewhawk. Beetlestar named Shatteredpaw Dewhawk's apprentice. Branchsoar was discovered dead and he named his son, Dewhawk, the deputy of Forestclan. Mothcloud then killed him, saying she should've been deputy instead of Dewhawk. Beetlestar gave Dewstar the life of justice. If he and Mothcloud were mates, they should have had a bond strong enough to, you know, not allow her to kill him. It's pretty shallow grounds for full-on murder. And where did Brokenheart go? Was he exiled, killed, etc? Maybe if Brokenheart was exiled, a cool thing would be to have him come back and seek revenge on his son for getting him exiled. 

Overall, Beetlestar has quite a few plot holes throughout his character. But with a few improvements, he could be really great! For now, he gets a 6/10
