So Burr was Maria's divorce lawyer. That means they met and maybe they could have connected then, but Burr loved Theodosia and after her deathhe had a mess of relationships where he straight up walked out on women, or divorced them. After the trauma Maria had been through I doubt a non commital Burr who can't replace his wife is going to be any good.
