"...hey..."
"Hey! Wake up you idiot!" A voice peirced through the darkness. The announcer opened his eyes and immediately sat up. He looked around. The laboratory he was in was gone, instead he was on top of a building. He felt a paw place itself on his shoulder. "Ugh, finally! Who knows how much trouble we'd be in if you just sat up here napping all day!" A cyan lombax said looking down at him and walking to stand in front of him, hands on his hips. A black lombax walked up and stood beside him. "Thank goodness you've awoken. I was busy contemplating if you had run out of power or if you're just a deep sleeper." He said crossing his arms. The Announcer looked up at them and sighed. "I'm sorry you two. I suppose my sleeping protocol is in need of an update." The metallic lombax said getting to his feet. "So what is it that we need to do next for today, Kappa?" The announcer asked. Kappa uncrossed his arms and waved his paw, bringing up a hologram. "Next, we need to check back in with Professor Beta so he can analyze the results of todays expedition into the forest, after that we need to turn in the materials we gathered to the Architect Guild, then we use the rest of the day to entertain ourselves how we see fit." Kappa explained, waving his paw again, making the hologram disappear.
Theta smiled, "Of course that doesn't we can't have fun while doing those things." The cyan lombax said with a glint in his eye. Kappa sighed, "Theta please, the last thing we need is a scolding from Professor Beta because you messed with his light technology again." He said placing a paw on his forehead. Theta chuckled, "Well too bad. At least we don't have to worry about Alpha riding up our asses this time." Theta said waving his own paw and creat a large ramp at the middle if the buildings wall. Theta suddenly jumped off and The Announcer ran to the edge of the roof. He looked down to see Theta's boots shining with purple accents as he somehow began sliding down the side if the building as if he was surfing. Theta swung his arms and he was facing the two as he slid backwards. "Hurry up you two. Don't wanna get left behind now do you?" He called, reaching the ramp and front flipping off of it as more light platforms appeared, propelling him across the city towards what was assumed to be Professor Beta's lab. "I apologize, I have no influence whatsoever with this child." Kappa said as his boots also lit up with purple accents and he did the same as Theta, surfing down the building, jumping off the ramp and following the platforms, albeit a bit more refined and less reckless.
The Announcer looked down at the ramp before taking a few steps back. He raised his right paw, pressing one of his metal paw pads against the side of his head. A purple visor materialized over his optics bringing up a display of several graphs, calculating his possible trajectory, the most efficient path, and telling him that his boots had been activated. His foot paws started shining with the same purple accents and made a soft whirring sound. The Announcer stepped one foot forward and began running. Reaching the edge, he jumped and his foot paws began pulling towards the side of the building. He landed and continued sliding down, not surfing but instead opting to keep his feet forward and his eyes trained on the ramp.
His feet reached the blue light platform and he slid off the ramp, easily landing on the next platform, and the next, and the one after that. As The Announcer traveled across Theta's obstacle course of sorts, he found that the cyan lombax had been quite sporadic of his placement of each platform, luckily none them were hindering anyone elses travels or had caused any property damage. A few minutes had passed and he saw a building where Theta and Kappa were waiting with another deep blue lombax wearing a lab coat of some kind. The Announcer leaped off the last platform and landed beside the trio. "What in the world were you thinking?! Randomly creating light platforms like that! Had you not been as lucky as you were, you could've caused major amounts of property damage and I would've been responsible for your actions! Ugh." Professor Beta said tapping a device on his wrist and the platforms disappeared. Theta looked down at the ground. "I was just having fun. Besides, I'm not an idiot. I made sure to be careful where I put each one. Nothing was damaged." Theta said in a surprisingly annoyed voice.
"That doesn't matter! We were supposed to test this in a controlled environment, not out in the streets of the public!" Beta shouted before sighing. "Just go to your room. I won't even bother taking away your technology, you'll just find some way to steal it back again." The blue lombax said crossing his arms and looking away. "Would've had to test it out on the field anyway sooner or later." Theta growled, narrowing his eyes and walking inside the building, the automatic doors opening and closing for him. Beta scoffed and shook his head, turning his attention to the two lombax's in front of him. "I'm so glad to ser you've returned Omega. How was the forest?" He asked with a smile. "Abandoned as always, retreiving the materials was a simple in and out job." The Announcer said. Was that his name? Kappa placed a paw on his chest, "Once we're done here, we shall drop off the materials requested at the Architect Guild and make our way back here for rest and relaxation." Kappa said looking at Beta with a calm expression.
Beta turned his head to him and smiled, "Good. That's all I have for you two today. Feel free to use your rest and relaxation however you like. Before that however let's get those results from you Omega." He said putting a paw on The Announcer's shoulder and leading him inside. A few minutes of being hooked up to several wires connected to a console, a quick routine inspection, and The Announcer walked back outside where Kappa was waiting for him. "Are you ready to get to the Architect Guild?" Kappa asked. The Announcer nodded and followed as Kapoa turned and began walking towards a regular extending bridge. Now that he was paying attention, there weren't any light bridges across the city. It was just regular pathways and bridges. Beta's light technology might still be in development, perhaps that's why he was so angry. "I know what you're thinking, and yes, Beta was quite harsh with Theta. I gave him a clear warning that this is exactly what would've happened had he used the technology. Still, he wouldn't listen." The black lombax said as he continued walking, not even looking at The Announcer.
The Announcer's optics shifted for a second. "Theta still had a point though, sooner or later the tests would have gotten to the field and someone would have had to use them throughout the city. Granted, he could've been a bit more careful about it, but either way his argument still applies. Not to mentioj he was able to use the technology without a single scratch on the city. If anything he should he praised for such an achievement, especially since the technology is still in the testing phase." The Announcer said trying to keep pace with Kappa's stride. Kappa sighed, "You misunderstand, I don't agree with Beta. I was merely stating that Theta should've been more careful and discreet about using it, he didn't heed my warning and now he's probably locked himself in his room for the rest of the day. For all we know, Beta is probably banging on his door right now, shouting about how irresponsible he was today." Kappa said, narrowing his eyes. The Announcer looked at the ground, thinking of whay to say. "Honestly, who does he think he is?" The Announcer's ears twitched and his eyes darted over to the black lombax. "What was that Kappa?" He asked cocking his head to the side.
Kappa ignored as his narrowed eyes were a wrinkled glare. "He may be the head scientist here, but that doesn't mean he can go around acting like he's the best thing to happen to the world since toilet paper. He may have raised us and created Omega, but that doesn't give him the right to treat us like garbage. Someday I'll put him in his place, and he'll realize he's not as powerful as he believes himself to be. That, I'll make sure of." Kappa grumbled his words under his breath, but nonetheless were audible to his robotic companion and his excellent auditory receptors. The Announcer stopped walking and watched as Kappa continued on his way, reaching a bridge that seemed to be covered in fog. "Kappa? Are you okay?" The Announcer asked. Suddenly the fog surged towards the lombax, pushing him to the ground off his feet. He fell to his side closed his optics as he felt his purple visor shatter into dozens of small shards.

He opened his eyes again to see a laboratory before him. Blood spatters of varying sizes decorated the wall. The Announcer tried to get up, but found he couldn't move. A message popped up on his optics, "basic functions disabled by administrator, password required to restore autonomy". A blue blur fell to the ground a few meters in front of him. It was Beta. A curved, black, blade with red accents was pointed towards him, held by none other than, "Kappa?". The Announcer thought as he watched the event unfold before his eyes. "So this is how the great Beta acts in his esteemed position of science? Attacking one of his own creations and attempting to murder them once they disobey his orders? What a disgrace." Kappa said glaring down at Beta. If looks could kill, Beta wouldn't even exist. "That's rich coming from the one holding a blade to my head. Are you saying that you've never raised a paw against me? Even now when my body is covered in wounds from that oh so precious blade you have, the one I gave you?" Beta said smirking up at thr black lombax. A black flash obscured Beta's face for a moment before it faded, revealing the lombax to be holding his right cheek, a fresh wound leaking blood where it wasn't two seconds ago.
Kappa took two steps forward, pushing the blade under Beta's neck, forcing the lombax to look up at him. "You seem to misunderstand me. I claim no ounce of innocence in this little skirmish of ours. Hmph, to think all it took for you to lose control of yourself was Omega and I turning our backs for one second. I'll drop the formalities for a second so your little simple minded brain can comprehend what I'm saying. You took an opportunity to try and kill Theta, like a predator finally chasing down it's prey. You probably took great pleasure at the realization that you could simply do away with him and try to make it look like a suicide. And that type of shit pisses me off." Kappa growled. Beta wiped some blood off his cheek and chuckled. "And what about you? If I didn't know any better, I'd say it would seem you're taking great pleasure in the chance to kill me--." Kappa shifted the blade sightly, forcing Beta to stop talking.
"You're mistaken. I feel nothing but absolute hatred for you and the fact that you got away with abusing us for so many years. Beatings for Theta, electrocution for me, all the while you showered Omega in nothing but love and reveled in all the awards you got for his very existence. My hatred should extend to him, but it doesn't. Because he was just another pawn in your stupid little game. Once I'm done with you, I'll restore his functions and make sure he and Theta live the rest of their lives with you as nothing more than a bad dream of yesterday. Beta spat out some blood onto the floor and chuckled. "You think it'll be that easy? Only I know how to maintain and repair his body, only I know how to operate the equipment in my lab, only I know the password to enable his autonomy again. You need me!" Beta shouted, laughing witha crazed look on his face. Was he losing it? Here and now?
Kappa scoffed, "And that's where your brilliant and idiotic mind decieves you. I don't need you to keep Omega alive. I can do that just fine by myself." Beta chuckled once more, "Oh really?! And how can you do that?! Are you to tell me that you have been secretly paying attention to my work all these years?!" Beta asked, laughing maniacally. Kappa glared down at Beta. "Precisely, because unlike you, I pay attention to what's happen around me." Kappa suddenly jumped to the side as the wall behind him shifted and revealed a laser cannon. The laser originally meant for him, instead shot out and blasted through Beta's right arm. The severed appendage flopped to the ground as it dropped a small remote. "AAGHH! NNGH!! YOU BITCH!!" Beta screamed as his right arm stump began leaking blood. Kappa walked up to Beta. "I'm sorry it had to be this way Beta, but your actions and our history leave me no choice. I can no longer tolerate your existence. Especially since you have brought needless harm to those around you."
Kappa said raising his blade towards Beta's neck once again. "Before you go, you should know. When I was younger, I believed that there was still hope for you, that someday we could all live happily together, and forget about what you did to us. How young and stupid I was to have such a dream for you." Kappa said, patiently waiting for Beta's final words. "Society will fall without me. You, and everyone else in this pitiful dimension will slowly wither away because you struck me down, one of the greatest minds to have ever graced the UNIVERSE!!!" Beta shouted, resuming his maniacal laughyer as his eyes stared up at the ceiling. Kappa sighed, "Hmph, even when you've gone insane you still retain your narcissism. Goodbye Beta." Kappa said. And in one swift motion, a stump remained where Beta's head once was, having flown off to the side of the room out of The Announcer's sight after being severed from it's body. Kappa stood up straight, panting as he looked down upon Beta's still body. He tossed his blade and it landed next to the limp body with a loud clang. "Keep the blade old man, I don't need it, or you anymore." Kappa said. His ear suddenly twitched as sobbing could be heard within the room. A cyan blur could be seen to the left of Kappa.
Kappa's head snapped towards the blur and he immediately ran towards it, holding it in his arms. "It hurts Kappa, it hurts." Theta sobbed, holding onto Kappa. Kappa stroked his head and closed his eyes. "Shhh, it's okay Theta. Beta can't hurt you anymore. He can't hurt us anymore. We can live happily without him now. We can be real brother's with Omega now. Let me get you to your bed, your wounds need to be treated." Kappa said, picking up Theta bridal style and disappeared down a hallway while Theta sniffled in pain. The Announcer's optics went black before his sight returned again a few minutes later. Kappa was walking towards him. He stopped in front of him and got down on his knees, using his paws to raise The Announcer and sit him up against the wall. "I hope you're still in there, I'm not gonna let you die on me now. Especially after what I promised to Theta." Kappa sighed as a wistful smile crept onto his face. "We can make up for lost time when this all blows over, we can finally get to truly know each other as brothers. My actions today have consequences, but no matter what I will see my promises through. Remember that." Kappa said. The world around The Announcer dissipated and he was in an unending black void again.
Suddenly he began falling. Falling and falling and-- "Omega!" A voice shouted. The Announcer's optics blinked open as he jolted awake. He was on a cold hard metal floor. "Thank goodness. Who knows what would've happened had you not woken up." Theta said with a smile on his face. (Y/n) looked down at The Announcer. "Yeah, I was this close to starting a full on death match with these two." The burgundy lombax said with a smirk, exhanging a glance with Theta. "How are you doing?" Ratchet asked. Kappa was the only one who didn't approach. The Announcer looked at the black lombax. "Kappa?" He asked. Kappa returned his eye contact. "Yes, Omega?" He asked. The Announcer stood up to his feet. "Could I speak with you and Theta privately? Brother?" He asked. Kappa's muzzle slightly opened at that last word. He sniffed and bit his bottom lip. Tears dotted the edge of his eyes. "Y-yes Omega. Yes you can." Kappa said as he began sniffling, doing his best to keep himself from full on crying. The Announcer smiled and walked forward hugging Kappa, the black lombax returning the embrace. Theta smiled as his eyes began to water. He joined the hug and wrapped his arms around his two big brothers.
(Y/n) nudged Ratchet. Ratchet turned his head toward the burgundy lombax. "What?" The yellow lombax mouthed. "Take the hint. This is our cue to leave. I know you're curious, but they need some alone time now." (Y/n) whispered. "Okay okay, I'm going." Ratchet whispered back as he and (Y/n) walked towards the door to the lab. It opened for them and Ratchet walked out. (Y/n) stopped and took one last look at the three brothers hugging out at the other end of the lab. He smiled and walked out of the lab, the door closing behind him.
