Chapitre 8 : Git a Pris Froid

Today's dinner rush was little bit more relaxing than yesterday. Remy was glad that there was no crazy customers just like yesterday that made him emotionally unstable. He still felt bad for yelling at Git, so he kept flipping the frying pan and decorate the plate to forget about the whole chaos yesterday. Oh, I really hope that he's still not mad at me. I know he said we should forget it now, but who know? Sometimes, anger isn't something that anyone can really control. He thought as he wiped the sauce off the edge of the plate. He was also ready to greet Git with warm smile when he walks him home.

By the time it was time to close the bistro, Remy was cleaning the sink and put back every cooking tools back into their places. Then he found a pot with a bit of soup leftover. "Aww man, I knew I should've made less soup," Remy regretted as he looked at the leftover soup. He was wondering what to do with it. He definitely does not want to throw away perfectly good food, but he doesn't want to serve them when the soup is a day old. Just then, Emile walked in.

"Hey Remy!" he called, "Git can't take you home today."

Remy paused, he became a little concerned. "Is... is something wrong?" he asked cautiously. He thought that Git was still not over with their argument.

"He is very sick," Emile replied. "Yesterday, he came in all soaked in rain, carrying something. He put the umbrella over that thing instead of himself."

Oh, Remy thought, As long as he is still not angry at me... So he stopped worrying about their argument. But then he started to worry about his sickness. Oh dear, and I really hope his sickness is not too serious. He thought. Then he turned to Emile and said, "Emile, stay here with me for a little bit. I'm going to heat some soup for him" So Remy turned on the stove with a pot with a little bit of leftover soup. He started to feel glad that the soup was leftover. Who knew Git would be sick? Rats in the colony depend on his strength on mostly everything. Sure, he may be a macho rat, but sickness could make him very weak. When the soup felt warm enough, he poured it in the mini-sized thermos, and walked out with Emile.

"It's a little odd for you to do something like that," Emile said.

"What do you mean, odd?" Remy said a little hesitantly. Hope he doesn't know, he thought.

To Emile, Remy sounded a little irritated, "Whoa, whoa, relax, Remy! I just... well you're nice in general, but... you, uh, you two weren't really that close! So I... I found it a little weird that you both seemed to be getting along so well. I didn't mean to irritate you in any way. I'm sorry if I offended you."

"Oh, no, no, I'm not offended. Well, you know, he has been my bodyguard," Remy replied as he stopped hesitating, "So I need to do something for him. Besides, he has been very friendly to me lately. So it'd be nice for me to do something little for him." That was close. Remy cannot imagine what would happen when Emile and other rats find out that he is in a relationship with Git. So he remained calm and continued, "Plus, cooking for anyone is practically my life now. You do know I served him and the others cakes and other food before right?" Emile nodded as he was convinced with Remy's words. The bottle seemed very heavy for both Remy and Git. There was no way that they could carry the bottle.

"Do you think rolling the bottle would be okay?" Emile asked in a suggestive voice.

"This is one of the best kind! It won't be damaged just by rolling it." Remy said, making Emile not worry anymore. They pushed on the bottle and rolled it across the sidewalk. It was much easier to roll it instead of carrying it. Plus, with two, they were able to balance it and roll it straight. Remy and Emile eventually reached their colony. Before going straight into Git's room, he went up to his father to say hi to him.

"Hey, dad," Remy said as he walked towards him.

"Hey, son," Django replied, "what's up?"

"He came to give soup for Git!" Emile answered for Remy, "Maybe I should be sick one day so Remy can bring soup for me!"

"Don't be ridiculous," Django said to Emile, then he turned to Remy and said, "Git should be lying down, go ahead."

"Thanks, dad," Remy replied as he walked towards Git's room. On his way into Git's room, he grabbed a spoon lying on the ground, washed it with a nearby clean water, and shook it off. When he walked in, Git was lying on the bed, awake. Git turned to see who it was.

"Hey, Remy," Git said weakly, "what are you doing here?" Then he gave out intense cough that sounded like he's almost dying.

"I heard you were sick," Remy said as a walked towards him. "And it looks like you are very sick." Git chuckled. He put his hand over Git's forehead. It was pretty hot that Remy can literally fry an egg with Git's forehead. "Oh man, this is really bad. You know, you should've used the umbrella for yourself."

"I didn't want to ruin your delicious fruitcake," Git said with a weak smile, "It was indescribably delicious... like your personality."

"You're so helpless," Remy said as he shook his head with a warm smile. "Anyways, I brought some leftover soup for you. Thank goodness there was some leftover soup so that I brought you some. Who knew you'd be sick today? You gotta feel better for everyone here who relies on your strength."

"So thoughtful of you," Git said with a bright smile as Remy carefully poured the soup on the thermos cap. "Oh, you can carry that!" Git said, amazed.

"If I can carry a book, I can carry this. Although it is a little heavier. Plus, rats are able to carry things like this." Then Remy picked a spoonful of soup and blew it to cool it down a little. "Sit up," Remy told him, more warmly than before. Git slowly stood up. "Open up," Remy said with a same warm manner. He then fed the spoonful of soup to Git. As Git swallowed, he sighed with relief.

"I wish I was sick everyday so you can feed me," Git said.

"Now, I'm not going to hug you or kiss you if you're sick," Remy said with a wink, "So make sure you feel better,"

"Sly rat," Git said sarcastically.

"Dumb rat," Remy said more sarcastically.

"You know you love me," Git said with a sly smile.

"Do I know that? Yes, yes I do," Remy replied with a sly smile and a sly tone. "Come on, you need a finish your soup. Here comes an airplane~."

"Now, you don't have to treat me like a child."

"I did this to Emile before. It's fine."

Remy fed Git until the thermos cap was empty. Remy then asked, "Want some more? There are still some in the thermos." Git nodded. He poured more in and fed him again. Then the soup finally ran out.

"Get plenty of rest," Remy said as he stroke Git on his forehead and left, "See you tomorrow!"

"Remy?" Git called. Remy turned. "What happened to the ring?"

"I don't know what happens when my dad or Emile sees it," Remy said apologetically.

"Oh yeah, that's right," Git said and lied back down to rest, "I shouldn't have mention it. Thanks for the soup, Remy."

"Anytime," Remy said as he walked out to his father and Emile to say goodbye.

"I'm gonna go back now," Remy said.

"All right," Django said, "Thanks for taking care of him,"

"No problem," Remy replied, "Make sure he drinks enough water, too."

"We will!" Emile replied. "Bring me some soup when I'm sick!"

"See you on Saturday!" Remy said delightfully. Then he left the colony. As he was walking back, he felt much more relaxed. He hoped that Git would feel much better sooner or later. He already missed him walking by his side. Let's wait on it, Remy thought as he walked back home, he will be better soon. It was me who fed him the soup after all.

A/N: So there it is! They made up pretty quickly! Let's just hope that Git feel better anytime soon! Stay tuned for more chapters!
