Chapitre 55: Le Festin Est Sur Mon Chemin (Finale)

It's been exactly one year since the restaurant has opened.

People from different cities and different countries were coming to Paris to try the food at Remy's restaurant. They even enjoyed seeing him cook. It amazed them every time.

Of course, everything could not be perfect. There were some customers who were not fans of the restaurant so they attempted to close the place down by pretending to be sick by what they ate. However, the kitchen staff who used to work at Gusteau's, including Lalo, Larousse, Horst, and Pompidou knew that they were acting so they took all of them to the trial, which they won. When they got enough money, they set up security cameras to prevent future crimes.

One day, one guest came in to meet Remy. "Good to see you again," Yoo-Kyung came in with a translator.

"It's so good to see you again," Remy typed it on the keyboard.

"I heard you opened a larger restaurant so I came," Yoo-Kyung explained. "Congratulations. It looks so much fancier than before."

"Have you tried anything yet?" Remy typed.

"I haven't. Would you like to recommend me anything?" Yoo-Kyung asked.

"Ratatouille is my specialty, would you like to try that?" Remy asked.

"Yes please," Yoo-Kyung said brightly. "I never tried that before."

"Would you like to see me make it? Since you're my special guest, I would love to show it to you," Remy typed.

"Oh, that would be very nice! Please show me!" Yoo-Kyung said excitedly.

Remy allowed Yoo-Kyung into the room and showed her all the steps of him making the ratatouille. As usual, he preheated the oven, he sliced the vegetables thin, spread sauce on the pan, placed the sliced vegetables on top of the sauce, gently placed a cooking paper on top of it, put it in the preheated oven, and waited until it was done.

He decorated the ratatouille on the plate and served it to her. She carefully took a bite as it was her first time trying ratatouille. Her eyes were wide opened before she was able to chew it. She finished the plate less than thirty seconds.

"This is very delicious!" Yoo-Kyung complimented. Remy smiled in relief. "How much is this?"

"It's on the house," Remy typed it in.

"Oh, no," Yoo-Kyung insisted. "I have to pay for this! This is the greatest food I've ever tasted and it should not be given out for free."

"Well if you say so," Remy typed. "It's actually 14 euros, but I'll only collect 7 euros from you."

"Really?" Yoo-Kyung asked. "Thank you!" She paid 7 euros for the ratatouille and asked, "Can we take a picture?"

"Of course," Remy gladly took the offer and took the picture.

"I'll come back real soon!" Yoo-Kyung said. "And I'll send an extra letter through the mail!"

"It was an honor to have you here," Remy typed. "I hope to see you real soon!"

They exchanged their farewells happily. A few days later, Remy received the picture from Yoo-Kyung. He smiled and hung it on the wall where celebrities hang their photos or autographs. "She is my celebrity," Remy said to himself as he hung the picture where it was visible in the center."

"CHEERS!" Everyone in the rat colony cheered as they raised their glass in their part of the restaurant to celebrate the anniversary of the restaurant. Everyone ate, drank, danced, sang, and played instruments to enjoy the party.

"Hey, congratulations, Remy." "Happy anniversary, Remy!" "You really have outdone yourself!" Everyone complimented Remy as they passed by him.

"Enjoying this party, little brother?" Emile asked.

"You bet I am," Remy said.

"I'm so proud of you, son," Django said.

"Thanks, dad," Remy said.

"Oh, I can't believe my baby has grown up during all the time I went missing!" Desiree said as she hugged him tightly.

"I'm glad you're happy, mom," Remy said with a slight snicker.

"Remy, we brought something for you," Git walked up to him with Espérance.

"Here you go, daddy," Espérance said as she handed the bouquet.

"Oh, thank you guys so much!" Remy said. He picked one of them and placed it behind Espérance's earlobe. "Thank you for the flowers, sweetheart." Espérance giggled.

"Why don't we play a game?" Desiree suggested. "I really wanted to play something together!"

"What are we gonna play?" Emile asked.

"It's called 'What am I?'" Desiree explained. "Basically, the person who is it thinks of something, and the people who are not it ask questions to guess what it is. When someone guesses the answer right, that person will be it and think of something so that the others can ask questions to guess it."

"That sounds fun," Django said. "Who wants to be it?"

"Ooh! Ooh! Ooh!" Espérance raised her hands. "I wanna be it!"

"Okay dear," Remy said. "Think of something and then we'll try to guess it."

Espérance closed her eyes and thought for a second. "Okay! I'm ready!"

"Is it something we can eat?" Emile asked.

"No," Espérance answered.

"Is it something we see every day?" Django asked.

"Maybe...?" Espérance answered.

"Can we see it now?" Desiree asked.

"Yes," Espérance answered.

"Can papa see it?" Git asked.

"If you take it off," Espérance answered, but immediately covered her mouth afterward.

"Is it papa's tag on his ear?" Remy asked.

"Yes," Espérance replied. "Good job, daddy!"

"Thanks, dear," Remy said. "So I'm it now, right?"

"Yes, dear, think of something," Desiree said.

"Okay, I thought of something," Remy said. "Ask me questions."

"Is it something we can eat?" Emile asked.

"Nope," Remy said.

"Is it something you use?" Django asked.

"Every day," Remy answered.

"Is it a stove?" Desiree asked.

"A frying pan?" Django asked.

"A spatula?" Emile asked.

"A knife?" Git asked.

"Sadly, no, not one of them," Remy said.

"The golden spoon?" Espérance asked.

"Aw, sweetie, you got that right!" Remy said as he smacked his lips on her head.

"Yay!" Espérance cheered. "I want you to be it, uncle Emile."

"But it's your turn, sweetheart," Emile said.

"Pleeeeease," Espérance pleaded.

"All right, then," Emile said and thought of something. "Okay, I got it!"

"Excuse me for a moment. I'll be right back with you guys," Remy excused himself from the family as he handed Espérance to Git. He climbed up the wall, sat on the roof of the restaurant, and examined the view of the moon and the Eiffel Tower.

"Don't you ever get tired of looking at that?" Git asked behind him.

"Oh, Git," Remy said as he turned. "No, I never get tired of looking at that."

Git chuckled and sat next to him and veiled his waist with his arm. "Remy?"

"Hm?" Remy responded.

"Did I make you the happiest rat in the world?" Git asked as he looked up at the moon.

"I guess it is safe to say yes," Remy replied as he looked up at the moon.

"Then my dream has been achieved," Git confirmed mellowly.

"To make me the happiest rat in the world?" Remy asked.

Git confirmed once more, "Yes, of course."

Remy snickered and said, "That makes me feel better."

"Did you have any other dream besides becoming a great chef?" Git asked as he looked up at the Eiffel Tower.

"I guess so," Remy replied as he looked up at the Eiffel Tower.

"What was it?" Git asked, genuinely curious about it.

Remy let out a relaxing sigh and said, "To marry the most beautiful rat in the world."

"Congratulations. You achieved it," Git congratulated.

"No, I didn't. I only accomplished on becoming a chef," Remy said with a sly tone and a sly smirk across his face.

"What do you mean?" Git asked.

"You're not the world's most beautiful rat, that's what I'm saying," Remy teased.

"Wow, that's harsh," Git pretended to be offended.

"I mean it," Remy winked.

"Then why did you marry me?" Git asked.

"Because I love you," Remy said and he really meant it.

"That makes me feel better," Git said as he nuzzled his cheek against Remy's right temple.

"Daddy? Papa?" Espérance called as she climbed up.

"Oh, Espérance dear," Remy said. "Why don't you come here, sweetheart?" Remy asked as he opened his arms wide. Espérance entered her dad and pops' arms.

"The answer was cheese and grandpa got it right!" Espérance informed.

"That's great, sweetheart!" Remy reacted well for his adoptive daughter.

"What were you talking about?" Espérance asked.

"Daddy's dream," Remy replied.

"What's your dream, daddy?" Espérance asked.

"To become the greatest chef," Remy said.

"But you are," Espérance said.

"Thank you, sweetie," Remy said as he kissed her on the head.

"What about you, papa?" Espérance asked.

"To make this family happy," Git replied mellowly.

"Good luck, papa," Espérance said with a thumbs-up.

"Thank you, sweetheart," Git said as he kissed her on the head. "Come here both you!" He embraced Remy and Espérance into his chest and added with a chuckle, "Oh, I love my family so much!"

"We're happy to have you too!" Remy said.

"I love you, daddy. I love you, papa," Espérance said.

"Git, you can put us down now," Remy said.

"Never," Git said.

Remy started to tickle him so that he can let go of them.

"Oh, no you didn't," Git said as he started to tickle Remy. They all hysterically laughed as they tickled each other. Espérance joined them and she also laughed hysterically as she tickled her dads and her dads tickled her.

Together, under the light of the Eiffel Tower and the moon, one happy rat family enjoyed their company.

A/N: My first fanfiction ever has reached the final chapter. I started this because of my obsession with this movie when I first watched it. It took me so long because of the writer's block in between and my busy schedule got in the way.

Because this is my first fanfic ever, it was extremely difficult to make edits to enhance the story. However, this fanfiction really means a lot to me because it is my first one ever and it helped me get through the difficult times in my life. I was happy to make a lot of edits to make this story make sense and sound less cheesy.

I really hoped you enjoyed this fanfic as much as I enjoyed writing them. I just wanted to say, thank you guys so much for having an interest in this fanfic. I really wish I had a talent for drawing but sadly the cover on this fanfic is the best I can do. I hope you guys understand.

Also! If you are interested! I have Mulan and Moana fanfic so feel free to check that out if you are a Disney fan! If you are a Kirby fan, I have fanfic for that also!

I have also published Brave, Wreck-it Ralph, and Lilo & Stitch fanfic so please check that out if you love those movies!

This is FluffyChocolate777 signing off of "Ratatouille - Les Rêves Des Amoureux Sont Comme Le Bon Vin"
