Chapitre 4 : La Confession
"It just me, Remy," Git answered as he climbed up.
"Git?" Remy asked surprisingly, "what brings you here?"
"I just wanted to see you," Git started, "it was dark inside, so I figured you would be out here or somewhere near."
"Oh..." Remy said as he quickly wiped his tears so that Git wouldn't notice. Remy did not want Git to see, but Git still noticed him wipe his tears away.
"Now, what are you crying for?" Git asked concerningly.
"Nothing," Remy replied hesitantly, "I was just... emotional..."
"Oh really? For what?" Git asked modestly. But Remy stayed quiet, hand leaning on his cheek, and sadly staring at the Eiffel Tower.
"I understand, you don't want to answer," Git said as he nodded and walked up to him, "I just came here to apologize for missing out on the celebration."
"It's fine..." Remy said weakly. Then they both sat down together. They were silent for quite a long time. Remy wanted to ask about how his blind date was, but he didn't find a courage inside in sould to ask. Git, also, wanted to ask say something to Remy, but he knew that Remy is not in a mood for anything right now. Until, Remy had guts to finally ask, "So... how was your... umm... blind date?"
"How did you know?" Git asked calmly, trying to hide his guilt.
"Emile was talking about it a lot during the party," Remy said cautiously. He did not to say that he asked Emile where Git was. He did not want to sound too stalker-ish.
"The blind date..." Git started, then he paused and sighed and continued, "don't get me started, I didn't even want to go. That rat was definitely not for me. She was loud, hyperactive, a little rude, and too clingy. She may be pretty, but I did not like her personality. I was very annoyed, trying to find a way to escape but she wouldn't let me go. It was just horrible. Thankfully, I managed to escape by distracting her in some jewelry shop. She was completely amazed and brainwashed by all of the jewelries, so I took the advantage of it and made my escape. Then I tried going to your colony, but you weren't there. So I asked your father where you are, since you're the reason why they were having this party, and he said you just went home. I also told him I felt bad that I didn't attend. But he said that it was fine since Emile forced me to go on a blind date."
"I see," Remy said, feeling somewhat better.
"So, how was the party?" asked Git, "Fun? I know I did not want to miss it, but then there is this stupid blind date that Emile wanted me to go to. But the thing is, I felt bad that I reject his offer every single time, so I just went. But no matter who it was I was never going to start anything with her anyways."
"And why not?" Remy asked.
"I'm not ready for this yet," Git replied. "So about the party?"
"The party... well... it was a little overwhelming in the beginning, but then it got really boring," Remy answered, "I thought it was going to be really fun, but it was all eating, drinking, and chit-chatting. Now, as I hear what happened in your blind date, I'm sure you would rather be at the celebration than to be at the blind date."
Then they both let out a deep sigh at the same time, looked at each other, smiled, and let out a slight laugh.
"So, Remy," Git started, "mind if we start the celebration just between two of us? I still gotta celebrate your success. Even though I did not celebrate with the whole clan, this is all for you anyway. Shall we?"
"Well, of course," Remy said modestly, trying to hide his excitement.
"Why don't we have your special chicken steak?" Git suggested, "So we know the meaning of the celebration,"
Remy nodded with delight and led him down into the dinner table and cooked the special chicken steak. While cooking, Git set up the table with table cloth, utensils, and some candle lights. As Remy finished up the decoration on the plates, he turned to see how Git setup the tables. Just by looking at it made him feel satisfied. Git was leaning against the table as he was sitting, with a little, calm smile across the face.
"You sure have an aesthetic taste on setting up the tables," Remy complimented.
"Well, I used to help your father and Emile set up the tables at your bistro, before you started to do it yourself," Git replied, and he complimented back, "And you have an aesthetic taste on decorating those plates. I just do not need an appetizer,"
Remy served the dish in front of him and said, "Enjoy" as if he was the waiter. Without any hesitation, Git immediately grabbed a knife and a fork, sliced a piece, took a bite of the chicken steak, slowly chewed the steak, and swallowed. His eyes opened wide in amazement. "Wow," Git said, "It's much better than what I tasted yesterday as a sample,"
"I'm glad you like it," Remy said. He couldn't help but gaze at him eat.
"I'm very serious, Remy," Git started, "this is so delicious that I would eat this everyday!"
Remy felt his heart beating faster and face burning hotter as Git finished his sentence. Then he let out the sigh of relief and started to dig into his dish. Everyday... I really hope that he means it, Remy thought as he chewed and swallowed. He was finally spending a night with Git to celebrate his success, that was all he needed. In fact, he was glad that the celebration with him turned out to be private and fancier than a party with clan at the colony.
"So, how exactly was in the bistro today?" Git asked curiously.
"Well," Remy started, "The first customer who claimed that my chicken steak was good was actually a critic. Then the words got spread quickly enough that eventually reached the major critic, there is always one who writes a review and post them on newspapers or other medias. So she ate it, she liked it. Everyone liked it. It turned out to be a great success. Linguini and Colette even had a little celebration with me to make me feel better after that huge failure I had yesterday."
"Now that sounds like an achievement," Git said as he was very proud of Remy. Remy blushed every time he heard compliments from Git. He couldn't help but liking it. Before they knew, both Git and Remy's plates were empty.
"That was great dinner," Git said.
"It's all thanks to you," Remy said gracefully, "you helped me make this recipe possible."
"Only thing I did was cheer you up and tenderize the meat," Git said.
"Well, I had less time to be disappointed and more time to work," Remy said. Then he sighed and passionately watched the candle burn. It was surely the most beautiful light Remy has seen all day.
"Now, let me reward you for your celebration and wonderful meal." Git said as he stood up and walked up to him.
"Oh, that's fine," Remy said, "I just wanted you to come, that's all."
"Well, I have it already," Git said, "so just accept it. Now, close your eyes"
What ever he got me, I'm pretty sure I'm gonna love it! Remy thought as closed his eyes.
"Now open you your eyes," Git said after a moment.
When he did so, he saw a ring (earrings for human but perfect size for rats' fingers), illuminating bright in front of him. Oh... my... goodness... Remy thought, he just couldn't say anything. He was so surprised that he couldn't say anything. Even though he opened his mouth, no voice came out, so he put his hands over his mouth as his eyes opened wide and he froze. Git was holding it out as he was looking at the other direction. Remy knew that Git was also blushing as he rubbed the side of his neck, and cleared his throat for a second.
"This is, uh, the main reason why I did not want to go to the blind date," Git started, "I just wanted to date someone who I am very much interested, you know? Not just any stray rat I just met and that doesn't really meet up to my standard. The thing is... when your dad had me be your bodyguard, I was pretty excited, since I was a little interested in you like a month ago when I visited the bistro more often."
Few moments after he finished his sentence, he turned to look at Remy, who still had his hands over his mouth, and eyes wide-opened. He was still stunned to say anything. Then Git cautiously confessed, "So Remy," he cleared his throat, "will you... officially go out with me?"
Remy, still stunned, nodded carefully. Then Git gently held Remy's right hand and put the ring on his finger. Remy kept gazing at his ring for a long time. Then he looked up at Git, who was had a warm smile across his face. Instead of saying anything, Remy jumped into Git and hugged him very tightly. Git was surprised at the moment he hugged him tightly, then he calmly smiled and gently put his arms around Remy and caressed him lovingly.
A/N: Well, here it all starts. On the other note, this fanfiction has fixed storyline. However, if you have any suggestions, feel free to comment them! Who knows? Maybe I'll add them!
