Chapter One
(Y/N)'s POV
I ran a hand through my hair as I briskly walked down the street. The toothpick I was chewing on cracking under the pressure of my teeth.
I sighed and spit it out, replacing it with a new one. Turning down an alley I scale the fire escape. Cuz stairs are for hoes. Once I reached the fifth flight I crawled through the stairs and into the open window.
"You know damn well what I meant!"
"You crazy bitch! The fuck I don't! I'm not a god damn mind reader!"
The yelling only escalated from there. Scowling I pack a gym bag full of clothes and grab my purse, hightailing it out of there. "(Y/N)!!"
"Nope."
I jump out of my window and rush up the stairs. Well, at least I'm a Gade A hoe. I start running from rooftop to rooftop stopping once I'm a good half a city away. Sike. I ain't runin that far. I'm like, 30 rooftops away.
I drop my bags in the shadows and plop down at the side of the building, looking down at the rest of New York. Heavy footsteps a couple roofs away catch my attention. I look up and see a lone shadow running towards me from a couple rooftops away.
Now, its not his/her fault I can hear them. I just have what I like to call 'adavanced hearing.' With an uninterested sigh I look away and close my eyes. The footsteps stop abruptly on the next roof over. Probably just spotted me. I start humming a tune, an old lulaby I used to sing for the orphanage children. I stand up and start swaying to my tune, spinning lazily and dancing like I had a partner.
I heard the person move over to my roof and felt their eyes on me. Without opening my eyes or stopping my fluid motions I spoke. "You could join me you know." I stopped and opened my eyes looking at the glowing eyes in the shadows.
I heard shuffling and a small grunt, "No, I couldn't sweetheart." His voice was gruff and had a Brooklyn twang to it.
"And why, pray tell, couldn't you?" I shook my hips with a flirtatious smile. "Can't dance?"
He grunted again, "Somethin' like that."
I pout at him, "Aww, party pooper." I wiggle my hips again as I spin. I hum and move closer to him. "Pretty please come out?"
"Look sweetheart, you don't want me to come out. I'm not the nicest thing to look at."
"If I've seen Justin Beiber and lived I think I can see you and live."
He chuckled, "Fine, if ya say so. But don't blame me when you're runin away screaming." He steps out into the light and I gasp at the tall green... turtle? He has HUGE muscles and is clad in red. I take notice to the sai's in his belt and his emerald green eyes. "What? No screaming, runnin ta tell your friends about the hideous monster you saw?" His tone was defensive causing you to frown.
"No, why would I do that?"
He scoffed, "Why wouldn't you? I'm a freak."
I frowned, "No your not. The only difference I see is skin color, height, and..." I bite my lip and look away.
"And..?"
I cross my arms and mumble, "Muscles."
His scowl curved into a smirk, "M' sorry, what was that?"
It was my turn to scoff, "You heard me." I crossed my arms and looked away.
He snickered and leaned in closer, "No, I don't think I did."
His nose (?) was so close that I could feel his hot breath. An idea came to me so I gave him a seductive grin, "I said..." Wrapping my arms around his broad neck I whispered "Your big, bulging, ego." I lightly shoved him back and laughed at his red faced, open mouthed expression.
He scowled at me and crossed his arms, "Not cool sweetheart."
I moved my toothpick to the side and grinned, "Opportunity was open hot stuff. Jus' had ta take it." My southern accent slipped but luckily a phone went off to distract him.
He reached into his belt and pulled out a phone in the shape of a turtle shell, "Cute." He scowled and rolled his eyes, answering the phone.
"Uh-hu. Ya. On my way." He hung up and smirked at me. "Sorry babe, I have ta go. Maybe I'll see you around."
I shrugged,"I ain't goin' no where." Waving I walked back to the ledge. "I'll definitely be seein' ya." He nodded and jumped off into the night.
Now that I think about it. We never did exchange names.
