*Mullai reached home late after long hours in office. Kathir who was home by evening made dinner for Poo (5th std), helped with her homework and put her to sleep. He was watching mardaani movie in OTT when Mullai ringed the bell. He took the laptop bag from her and she crashed on the sofa*

"Enna romba velaya"

"Hmm, poo kutti thoongitala"

"Hmm, 8.30 ke paduthachu"

*Mullai checked the phone, it's 10.45*

"Rasagula venumnu sonnale nu vangitu vanthene..hmm"

"Ava kalaila sapdatum, enaku Oru piece edu"

"Lunch bag melaye iruku, paarungalen"

*Kathir took the box and they relished the rasagola together. That's when pyaari was kidnapped and the movie turns more serious from here. Mullai couched next to Kathir and started watching intently*

"Vanthum varama Enna padam, Kai kaal kaluvitu Vaa, sapdalam"

"Saapadellam venam, poi padutha pothumnu iruku"

"Ithey velaya pochu"

"Aiyoo, naan veliya saptutu varla"

"Appo va, vanthu sapdu"

"Sapda pudikalanga, rasagulla innonu saptu thoonga poren"

"Ey.."

"Irunga irunga.. padam ippo thaan interest ah pogum.. "

"Paatha padathaye thirumba thirumba"

"Shhhh"

*Kathir went to the kitchen and fetched light meal for her*

"Intha pudi"

"Aama naan Kolanthai"

"Ava olunga time ku saapduva, nee thaan mosam.. intha vaangu"

*Kathir started feeding her and she was lazily having food and watching TV. In Mardaani, the scene of pyaari in the trafficker's place is played and he was tearing up her dress*

*Poo who woke up a bit when Mullai rang the bell, got up from the bed and slowly came to the hall*

*On reaching the dining table, the sound of pyaari's dress being tore is heard and she stopped in the tracks, terrified!!*

*The following scenes of her sexually harassed is shown and KM heard a huge cry. Poo was wailing*

*KM who didn't notice her standing behind them were shocked and ran to her. Mullai took her in his arms and she looked absolutely petrified. She was crying loudly and neither Kathir nor Mullai knew the reason. They thought may be she had a bad dream or got injured while walking sleepily from the room*

"Dei Ennada achu.. poo kutti.. Inga paaru.. Amma paaru.. Enna achu"

*Mullai got scared by seeing Poo's reaction. Poo was holding Mullai very tightly and kept crying*

"Poo kutti.. Ennada achu.. idichikitiya.. enga idichikita.. appa Kita kaatu..Vaa Inga"

*Kathir tried to pull her from Mullai's arms but she's refusing*

"Mosamana kanavunu nenaikrenga"

*Mullai held poo closely to her chest and Kathir continuously patted her back. It took a good 10 minutes for her to recover and show her face to Kathir. KM are finally relieved to find her easing a bit*

"Apppaaaa"

*She held Kathir*

"Ennada, ennachu.. sollunga"

"Antha Anna, antha Anna.."

*Mullai wondered who is that 'Anna' referred here*

"Entha Anna da.."

"Antha TV la Vara Anna.."

*Kathir looked at TV and Mardaani was still playing. Its showing scenes of Pyaari's rape. Kathir signalled Mullai to switch off the TV and she quickly did it*

"TV paarunga, tv paarunga.. onnume ilaye"

"Ila Pa.. naan pathen antha Anna.."

*Mullai took her back in her lap and asked about it*

"Inga va da pattu, enna achunu alaama sollu chellam, appo thaana Amma ku theriyum"

"Antha Anna en ma-- en ma antha Akka dress ah apudi-- hmm..hmm.. apdi kilee- kileechhanga"

*She sobbed again and there is a petrified look in Kathir's face*

*KM have always been responsible parents and have brought up Poo with a decent morale. They never allowed her to watch any unnecessary things on TV or mobile and have always protected her. Though the protection of parents is only till the end of home, Poo managed to maintain it in her school circle too. She is always referred as the kid who speaks with respect to everyone and don't abuse anyone*

*Kathir suddenly felt a heavy heart. Why he need to watch this particular movie when Poo is in home. Though it's a positive movie about how child trafficiking needs to be stopped, the scenes in-between about Pyaari being ruthless treated and raped can even break the strongest hearts. Now with this question posted by his little 10 year old, a lump formed in his throat about how he is going to explain this to her*

*He looked at Mullai who is equally shocked at the question*

For those who haven't watched Mardaani, it's a Hindi movie about a police saving children from trafficking. Pyaari is the lead's maid who gets kidnapped. It's a good movie with a nice message except for 2 3 scenes where they tear the children's dress and make them stand nude to judge for their able suitors. Even more heart breaking is when that Old man forcibly holds Pyaari's knees and keep pushing inwards. Cruel💔 not for light hearts!
