RAP with me ... (your host @rhythmicme)
There was a time see, when we all respected poetry
So it seems but yet it was incomplete
So we brought rap a cappella and beats
Don't worry as we move I'll explain it
It started with a thin sheet, the content was explicit
Rhythmic patterns were noted, we used words and digits
Decided to rhyme every last word making rhymes perfect
But there was a time when slant rhymes started to connect
Rap went heck, at first we sang it, it didnt work
We cursed, set a person to speak out the words
The way turned into a rap format
The Africans helped in that
We worked on styles and wordplay,
And other types of rhythmic structure and we with the world play
As we say we may use internal rhyming eh
Hey but they say it to be a masterpiece yeah
It evolved in types till it reached 1990's and people just stared
There were so many styles shown which could be compared
The acapella style its rap with no beats like your in mid air
No wind nothing is heard but still you rap fair
With beats you get a back drop support it's like a stair
Helping you to step up and when we say its dope
We mean its good, has an upward slope
We write bars, show stars, earn cars, take the DJ too
Aah yes its different and you may never find the clichè dude
1 bar equals 2 lines, regardless of the number of rhymes
We just rap and show our rap is an uphill climb
Yo, we had old school before, a simple style performed on the floor
It was a style where the end rhymes just acted yo
But then complex sentences affected and chopping came in
Its dam fast rap where multiple rhymes are used in
1 sentence, like, its heather, wife beater, you cheater, screw them
creator of heaters, creating craters, crafting canisters, eating cuisines
All literary devices are used, more like abused
But you need not to be confused
Cause we all use them in poetry, to
Make them awesome, metaphor and simile, comparing you to Styrofoam
All these are wordplays, but can be expanded like this
I'll get a head off, get it
I'll get a head off, get it
Fuck it, why dont you get it, i mean I'll get ahead off
Or I'll get a head off (rip your head)
Another example, you are getting home late and checking on a mail
Get it, nah, i mean your checking on male.
Homophones, same sounding 2 words used in 1 sentence
Hence when, you deduce multiple meanings
It is proved that it evolves my rap talent
Yeah, so this is jist of rap. A definition
You may see my works as examples of this exhibition
Please do give it a try, its playing with words
They're crosswords puzzles, making the rap world
