WrestleMania 35 Predictions
There are a million matches this year, but most of them are probably gonna be real good, so I'm really looking forward to a lot of this show.
Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal
Winner: Braun Strowman
I mean... Besides the SNL guys, I can't tell you a single other person in this match besides Braun.
I think what's gonna happen is that SNL Dudes are gonna come out, but hang out outside the ring. Braun takes out everybody until only the SNL Dudes are left, he convinces them to get in the ring, and he eliminates them.
Women's Battle Royal
Winner: Asuka
Okay, here's what I think is going down.
Asuka is upset that Charlotte beat her for the SD title in a match that she wasn't even prepared for, and instead of getting a rematch for it, she's stuck in this battle royal.
So she takes out EVERYBODY. And she wins, and it's basically a message to Charlotte (or whoever wins in the main event, I guess) that she's coming for her title.
Buddy Murphy vs. Tony Nese
Cruiserweight Championship Match
Winner: Buddy Murphy
Okay, here's a quick bit of information before I get into my prediction for this match (that has nothing to do with the prediction itself lol).
I don't watch 205 Live nearly as much as I'd like to. But a little while ago, when they said they were gonna make a big announcement (it was the tournament that Tony Nese won), I tuned in.
Drake Maverick basically says that some people are gonna qualify for this tournament, and one of those people was TJP.
Like I said, I hadn't seen this show in a while, so when I saw TJP on my screen, with a bunch of weird, random tattoos, I was like, "when did this man start looking like a fuckboy?"
And then I noticed that everyone on Twitter was also wondering about his tattoos, so like... he just randomly made the decision to get a bunch of random, not related tattoos? It looked like he might have been going for a sleeve or something, but they weren't close enough together, and it just looked weird.
Anyway, this match is gonna be great and I wish it wasn't on the pre-show.
Uh... I've been enjoying Murphy's title reign, and I wanted Mustafa Ali (who isn't on the show anymore) to take it from him, but that's not happening.
I think someone cool and new needs to debut, and he should be the one to take the belt from Murphy.
Kurt Angle vs. Baron Corbin
Singles Match - Kurt Angle's Farewell Match
Winner: Kurt Angle.
Y'all, Baron Corbin made Rey Mysterio have a boring match. Rey is one of the best wrestlers in the world, he can have a good match with anyone, but Baron made him have a bad one.
I know it makes sense, storyline-wise, to have this match, but it shouldn't be Kurt's final match. His final match should be with someone way cooler. This one should've been on Fastlane or something.
I'm hoping that maybe something happens, and Kurt actually faces someone else, but it probably won't happen.
Shane McMahon vs. The Miz
Falls Count Anywhere Match
Winner: The Miz
Does Shane ever win singles matches at Mania?
He lost to The Undertaker, he lost to AJ Styles. The only reason he won last year was because he was teaming with Daniel Bryan, who sure wasn't gonna lose in his first match back.
Therefore, I think The Miz is winning.
I think Shane is gonna jump off of something because he's insane (and that's why it's Falls Count Anywhere) and I think Maryse will be in the crowd with Monroe, watching. I don't think she's gonna do anything, but I think commentary will bring up the fact that Miz has to win this for his daughter and unborn child.
Honestly, Shane isn't that bad of a wrestler, so this should be pretty good.
Roman Reigns vs. Drew McIntyre
Singles Match
Winner: Roman Reigns
I think this will be the first WrestleMania where the crowd won't be upset if Roman wins.
I can see Drew doing something sketchy (I'm not sure what though? Most of his friends have matches), and Dean Ambrose comes out to help Roman, and we get a nice, emotional moment between the two of them after the match ends, and it's the last time we see Dean.
(I'm still convinced Dean isn't leaving lmao I think it's a work)
I think this will be a pretty good match.
AJ Styles vs. Randy Orton
Singles Match
Winner: AJ Styles
I haven't been able to stand Randy Orton in a long time, but with that said, I think this will be a good match.
When he has a good enough opponent, I enjoy Randy's matches.
I honestly don't see Randy staying around for much longer. I think he'll be part-time, come back for the big shows. I do see AJ staying around for a little while longer, though, so I think he should win this match. Even though Randy doesn't have a title or anything, it's still a big deal when you beat him, so he can add this to his list of achievements.
Triple H vs. Batista
No Holds Barred Match; if Triple H loses, he must retire
Winner: Triple H
A big part of this story has been that Triple H has never beaten Batista, so I think that he's finally gonna do it here.
Also, Triple H has maybe 2 matches a year, so not a lot would change if he lost lmao
And, Triple H has his signature weapon of a sledgehammer. Does Batista have his own signature weapon? Huh? (Does he, though? I don't actually know lmao)
Because this match is No Holds Barred, I think it'll be pretty good. It just makes it more interesting, and they don't have to rely on regular ol' wrestling, especially since they're both old and stuff.
The Usos vs. The Bar vs. Shinsuke Nakamura & Rusev vs. Ricochet & Aleister Black
Fatal 4-Way for the SmackDown Tag Team Championship
Winners: The Usos
Before I get into my prediction, I've got a question.
Okay, so at Fastlane (on the pre-show), The New Day (Xavier & Big E) faced Shinsuke/Rusev. Was that not a number one contender's match? Did I make that up? There's a good chance I did, but I could've sworn that it was.
With that said: I don't keep up with SD as much as I'd like (I typically work on Tuesdays), so if it WAS a number one contender's match, did The New Day ever get their match? And if they didn't, why the heck aren't they part of this match? Imagine WrestleMania ending with all three members of The New Day holding titles?
Anyway...
I don't really see The Usos losing the titles. Shinsuke/Rusev don't really seem like tag champions, Ricochet/Black aren't even officially on a show yet, and The Bar are just sort of there.
With that said, I just want to give a shoutout to Aleister Black and Ricochet, who also have a match two nights before this against the War Raiders. They're pulling double duty.
The Boss 'n' Hug Connection (Sasha Banks & Bayley) vs. The Divas of Doom (Natalya & Beth Phoenix) vs. The IIconics (Billie Kay & Peyton Royce) vs. Tamina & Nia Jax
Fatal 4-Way for the Women's Tag Team Championship
Winners: The IIconics
If you read my Elimination Chamber predictions, then you know I want the IIconics to win.
They've been a team longer than the other three teams (mostly because Beth retired lmao), they're both really good wrestlers, and I just want them to have good things.
Also, this either needs to be a triple threat, or they should replace Nia/Tamina with an NXT team (Sky Pirates, anyone?). They had a title opportunity and they lost. They need to go to the back of the line.
Also! I know I normally complain about part-timers coming back and taking away spots from full-time people, but I feel differently when it comes to the women.
Remember when The New Age Outlaws came back a couple of years ago? There was literally NO REASON for that to happen. They had been champions multiple times at that point.
However, until a few years ago, the women weren't really given many opportunities. There weren't any tag titles around when Beth Phoenix was still wrestling. Trish and Lita coming back for Evolution was okay with me because they had such a limited roster when they were around, so it's nice to see them wrestle other really good competitors.
I don't know if this makes any sense, but yeah, that's why I'm fine with Beth being back and in this match.
Also, just based on what we've seen from her in the Rumble last year + the random tag match on Raw, she's still got it, so I wouldn't even be mad if DOD won the belts.
Just anyone but Nia/Tamina, please.
Bobby Lashley vs. Finn Balor
Intercontinental Championship Match
Winner: Finn Balor
Finn is gonna be The Demon. And The Demon has only ever lost, like, once.
Also, ugh, Bobby Lashley is so boring, so even if Finn wasn't The Demon, I'd still want him to win.
Samoa Joe vs. Rey Mysterio
United States Championship Match
Winner: Samoa Joe
Hey, so I have two different predictions for this lol
1: Joe retains, and that's it. It's a great match because both of these guys are great.
2: They announced that on Monday during his match with Baron, Rey got hurt. So, assuming that Rey isn't cleared to compete, that means Joe still needs an opponent. He comes out, and he's like "I can beat up anyone back there, come out and fight me." And someone does come out.
AND HIS NAME IS JOHN CENA
John Cena is always at WrestleMania, and since he doesn't have a match announced or anything, have him face Samoa Joe. It would be a great match.
But have Joe retain, because I don't see John Cena coming back for very long, probably just this match. He's got movies and stuff to film.
Brock Lesnar vs. Seth Rollins
WWE Universal Championship Match
Winner: Seth Rollins
First of all, I hate Brock Lesnar and want him to go away. It's easier for him to do that if he doesn't have a title.
Second of all, I love Seth Rollins. He's such a workhorse, and he would put on good matches with EVERYBODY if he had the title. We would get title matches on ALL THE PPVS and even on episodes of Raw. It would be great.
I wish he was the one who had beaten Kevin Owens for the title, and not Goldberg, but hey, now he can win the title at the biggest PPV of the year.
Daniel Bryan vs. Kofi Kingston
WWE Championship Match
Winner: Kofi Kingston
MAKE KOFI WWE CHAMPION, YOU COWARDS
He deserves it so much. He's so so good.
Imagine Xavier and Big E coming out to celebrate with him. They put him on their shoulders, he's holding the WWE Championship. It's perfect. DO IT, WWE.
And it's gonna be a good match, so seeing it again (since Daniel needs his rematch) will be completely fine.
Ronda Rousey vs. Charlotte Flair vs. Becky Lynch
Winner Takes All Triple Threat for the Raw and SmackDown Women's Championships
Winner: Becky Lynch
Imagine having anyone but Becky win. Like, I can't even imagine it.
I'm pretty sure Ronda has said that she's taking time off after this, so I don't think she's winning. And then think about how angry EVERYBODY would be if Charlotte won. Charlotte, who did literally nothing to earn her spot in this match.
Everybody is rooting for Becky Lynch. She's got to win.
Also, I hope this doesn't mean they're unifying the titles. They have women on both shows who rarely get used; if they unify the titles, that means there's even less chances for them to get used.
Like, I doubt Naomi and Natalya would've gotten to hold the SD women's belt if there wasn't a brand split. And they're both absolutely amazing, so it would've sucked.
Anyway, yeah, I think they're sending the crowd home happy by letting The Man win.
***
Hey, okay, I know I had all three faces win the big matches (Seth, Kofi, Becky). Most people don't think that's happening. WWE couldn't possibly let us be that happy.
But, I don't know, I can see it happening. Unless they wanna try Brock/Roman again at a different PPV, I don't see why all three of them can't win.
Also, I've heard that WrestleManias that end in 0 and 5 apparently have happy endings, so Becky needs to win.
I don't know, I just trust WWE. I probably shouldn't lmao, but I do.
Anyway, sometime near the end of the week, I'll probably put up my Takeover/Mania reactions. See you then.
