Time for ANOTHER story!

I really ought to be writing a sociology paper, but instead I'm writing this because it's easier.

This story is going to be a little longer than the last one, and I'm going to give you some background info on it.

Kris Allen won American Idol a few years ago (2008 - 2009, I don't know the exact year) and he's from the city I live in.  He's our only claim to fame that's not an athlete.  Well, after he won, I guess he decided to stay here.

Okay, that was the background info, so now on with the story!

So two years ago, my youth group was put in charge of our church's Good Friday service.  It was something called a tennebrae service, which basically means "service of shadows."  Since it was all about shadows, we had to wear all black.

When we were finished with the service, we decided we were going to go out to eat and see a movie.  My city has three colleges (I guess that's another claim to fame xD) and one of them has a "village." It's basically this cute little square with different restaurants, and if you keep driving, there's this cute neighborhood.

When we got there, we split up into two groups.  Half of us went to Panera, and the other half went to a restaurant that had just opened a few weeks before, so it was crowded.

So the half of us that went to Panera consisted of me, my sister, these two girls who are also sisters, and a group of guys that were all in 7th and 8th grade.  They sat together and us girls sat together.  Well, by the time we finished eating, the other group hadn't even been seated yet, and the movie didn't start for almost two hours.  One of the other girls left, so it was me, my sister, and a girl named Cheyenne.

We were sitting there, and Cheyenne goes, "Did you guys know Kris Allen lives here?" Well, we didn't, so she decided we should go try and find his house.  So we did.

We began walking through the neighborhood, but we didn't know what his house looked like.  For some reason, Cheyenne knew what his car looked like, though, so we began looking for that.  When we passed this one house with a couple on the front porch, she leaned over and said, "Oh my gosh, guys, I think that was him." So we turned around and walked back, but we tried to act casual so he didn't know we were looking at him.

When we made it to the end of the street, she suggested that we play one of his songs really loud and run down the sidewalk.  I had one of his songs, so we began playing it, but we chickened out before we ran.

We walked down the sidewalk again and noticed that they had gone inside, so she suggested that we ding dong ditch him!  Well, we were all too scared to do it, so I suggested to get the guys (the ones who ate at Panera with us) to do it, because one of them should at least want to.  So we went back to Panera, where they were playing football in a field in the middle of everything with a loaf of bread (this one kid doesn't like sandwiches, so he just got a loaf of bread xD).  We approached them and told them how we wanted to ding dong ditch Kris Allen, and they agreed to come with us.  There were about four of them, so there were now seven of us in total.

We took them back to Kris Allen's house, and we just stood there at first.  Most of us had decided this was a bad idea, so a few of us had already started walking away, but this one guy went and RANG THE DOORBELL. We all freaked out, so we all began running away.  When he opened the door, he must've been confused seeing so many people in all black running away. xD

We made it back to Panera, where we found this one guy's dad, who had eaten with us (A/N: He used to be the youth leader, but he stepped down to let our current leader take over.  He does accompany us almost everywhere because we need a guy chaperone, since our youth leader is a lady.)  We told him about what happened, and the guy who rang the doorbell apparently recorded it and put it on Vine, so he showed it to him.

Well, he decided that we needed to go back and apologize.  Since only one kid rang the doorbell and most of us didn't want to do it, a lot of us didn't want to do it.  All of the guys went, and Cheyenne ended up going because the guy who put it on Vine had her phone.  So me and my sister went to the rest of our group and told them what happened, and our youth leader said Kris Allen is probably going to be more confused that they went back and apologized.

When they came back, they said that Kris Allen wasn't upset, but he had a baby trying to sleep so we shouldn't do it again.  And then HE TOOK A SELFIE WITH THEM.  It was the lockscreen on my brother's iPod for a while.  It was so crazy and I'm upset I didn't go with them.

So, yeah.  That's the story of how I ALMOST met a famous person.

(If you don't know who Kris Allen is, look up his song Live Like We're Dying.  It's his most popular song and the first one he released after he won.)
