The New Day
(If anyone is wondering, I just like how the font looks when it's bolded - that's why most of the chapters in this book are written in bold. xD)
So, in the summer of 2015, I sort of stopped watching wrestling for a little while.
I was in the process of moving from my house to my grandma's house, and once I got there, I didn't have a TV. I watched Raw in the living room for a few weeks, but then Dancing with the Stars came back on, so I gave the TV back to my grandma.
I remember the Divas revolution happening because my dad sent me a text with a blog post talking about it. (He doesn't watch wrestling, but he knows my brother and I do.)
And when I went and visited my dad, I got to watch Raw for about two weeks. (I finally got to see Sasha, Becky, and Charlotte!)
And then after that, I stopped watching for a while.
Well, in September, WWE was coming to Little Rock (about 30-40 minutes from where I live), and my brother and I had already bought tickets.
I hadn't watched wrestling in a few weeks, so I was a little behind. My sister let me in her room, and I watched Raw in there.
The only thing I remember about that episode is that Charlotte faced Nikki Bella for the Divas title (because Nikki was only a couple of days away from becoming longest-reigning champion), and Charlotte lost.
So, the next day, I drove my brother and I to Little Rock to watch SmackDown (me in my Seth Rollins shirt, him in his Bad New Barrett shirt). I distinctly remember 3 things from this episode of SmackDown:
1. Brad Maddox had a dark match where he teamed with Heath Slater, and I started freaking out. My brother was not amused.
2. Nikki and Brie had their Bellabration celebrating Nikki's title reign.
3. This tag team called The New Day came out, wanting everyone to sign a petition for the Dudleyz to stop using tables.
I knew about the New Day. I remembered the vignettes leading up to their tag team debut, where they had a church choir singing, and there was a lot of clapping.
But that was all I knew. And as they talked that night, I was like, "Whoa, I actually kinda like the New Day."
After that, I didn't think much of them until that night that Seth Rollins needed some partners for a 5 on 5 tag team match, and he chose the New Day and Kevin Owens. And they started chanting "New Day rocks!" and Seth joined in and danced with them. :')
But then he got injured, and they were like "Let's raise a horn for our fallen captain."
Shortly after, Cesaro got injured. So I decided I was now watching Raw for the New Day. And they did not disappoint.
One day, when the New Day were having a match, one of the commentators (probably Cole, but I'm not too sure) mentioned that Xavier Woods had a YouTube channel - UpUpDownDown. So I checked that out, and it's now one of my favorite things ever.
This was the first video I saw:

So, not only was I watching The New Day on TV, but I was watching them on YouTube.
And...I just don't trust people who dislike the New Day. They are still my favorite part of Raw every week (I lost it when Xavier started talking about Ambreigns) and there are quality videos on UpUpDownDown.
Here, let me talk about each member individually.
Kofi Kingston: I've always been a fan of Kofi, but I never considered him a favorite or anything. A few years ago, I loved AirBoom (him and Evan Bourne). They were great. He also always did cool things at the Royal Rumble. He was just someone I thought was cool, and I always kinda rooted for him in the MITB matches. Then, he became apart of The New Day. And he's talked a lot more, he's with these two guys that just seem like his best friends ever, and he's a lot of fun to watch. Kofi has always been good, but now that he's with Xavier and E, and he's a tag team champion, it's a lot more noticeable.
Big E: If you've never seen an episode of UpUpDownDown with Big E doing his version of Keep It Tight, stop what you're doing and find yourself a video right now. I've always kinda been a fan of Big E, because his main roster debut was protecting Dolph and AJ, and anyone who protects Zigglee is good in my book. I've never disliked him; I mean, I never cared too much about him after Dolph and AJ broke up, but I never had a reason to dislike him. He was just that big guy from NXT. He and The Shield were some of the first people to debut on the main roster from NXT, and that's pretty cool. Now that he's with the New Day, and he does a lot more talking, I think he's awesome. (He's this huge dude who calls himself a unicorn; what's not to love?)
Xavier Woods: When he first debuted, I was just so unsure of who he was or what was going on. He was with R-Truth I think, and it was just weird. And then he just stopped appearing on TV, and then the New Day was formed. I'm so glad The New Day happened, because if it hadn't, I wouldn't care about Xavier Woods as much as I do. I love the trombone (RIP Francesca) and I loved that they had a funeral for it. I love when they all talk, but I think I like when Xavier talks just a little bit more. (Plus, he acknowledged Ambreigns, and I just couldn't stop laughing omg) And I don't think we talk about this enough, but holy shit look at his arms.
Okay, for those of y'all who watched the Hall of Fame, remember when he said that he considered Kofi and Big E his brothers? :') I honestly loved that so much. WWE, never break this tag team up. Ever.
(Also UpUpDownDown retweeted me once and it was great. I don't think Xavier Woods controls that Twitter, but there's totally a chance that he does.)
