TW: SELF HARM

Jeremy's PoV:

It's been three months since Halloween. Since then, Michael has began to wear long clothing, and he hasn't really talked to me. Even after the play. So today, I decided to talk to him.

I walked to the bathroom where he usually hung out and listened to Marley with his sushi and slushy. "Hey Micha?" I called, and walked in.

Michael was sitting, mumbling something to himself, without his signature hoodie on. As I got closer, I saw his hand reach into a pocket and grab a pair of scissors. "Wish I had offed myself instead, wish I was never born..." He said under his breath, opening the scissors.

He was about to slice his skin when I yelled, "Michael no!"

He looked up at me, and pressed the blade into his skin. "Why would you care, you were my only friend. Everyone thinks I'm a loner, therefore I'm a stoner. I mean, I drive a PT Cruiser! I'm a loser, Jeremy!" He said, cutting his wrist and sobbing.

I ran to his side. "Michael. You are still my favorite person." I pried the scissors from his unwilling hands. I wet a paper towel and try to clean the cut.

  "Jeremy, stop."

I cleaned away the blood and found myself blushing in his presence.

"Jeremy! What do you need from me?" Michael pulled his scarred wrist away from me.

"Michael, I care about you! I've been in a crazy hellish nightmare these past months! I miss you, Micha. I miss your jokes, your flirts, the way your eyes light up when we play our video games! I miss getting lost in your eyes, your perfect curly hair, and getting stoned in your basement!"

He shook away tears in his eyes. "But how do I know you won't leave me again?"

I took his hand into mine. "Because my squip is gone."

"I don't believe you." Michael said, slipping his hand out of mine and searching for his scissors.

The bell rang in the background, but I didn't care. If I left Michael here he might...maybe...no. I was staying right here with him. "Don't you have to go? See Christine?" He scowled.

  "Michael, she's a lesbian."

He frowned. "Then you have Chloe or Brooke?"

  "They're dating each other."

His expression didn't change. The way his black CREEPS sweater matched his attitude stunned me, and I somehow managed to lock eyes with him.

"Michael," I sung in the same tune I once used for Christine.

He involuntarily smiled, but quickly dismissed it. Michael sighed. "Do you wanna, maybe, like, come try and beat level nine after school?"

"Only if you promise not to hurt yourself while I'm gone." I looked at my broken best friend and felt the blush return to my face, along with tears welling in my eyes. I was the reason he harmed himself. Just me. I didn't deserve to know him, let alone be his friend.

  "Okay Jer. See you then."

Michael's PoV:

I brushed my unruly hair, and looked in the mirror. Gross, I thought to myself. I saw out of the corner of my eye my phone light up with a text message.

Rich aka pyromaniac: bro can Jake, me, Jenna, Christine, come over rn

I sighed, and threw on a long sleeved sweater.

MichaelMakesAnEntrance: whatever. Just don't bring any weed

Rich aka pyromaniac: party pooper

I turned off my phone and I heard the doorbell ring. When I opened the door, I was greeted by my worst enemy, yet my crush since seventh grade. He looked stunning as always, and he seemed to be nervous.

"C-can I come in?" He asked.

"'Course Jer. By the way, Rich, Jake, Christine, and Jenna are coming over too."

"What? Well then I guess I better do this quickly." He took a deep breath. Adorable.

"Do wha-" I was cut off by his cupping of his hands around my face, and pulling me into a sweet kiss. Jeremy's lips were a taste I had longed for for an insane amount of time, and it made me feel ecstatic, yet confused.

"FIVE DOLLARS, JENNA!" I looked over Jer to see Christine dancing happily out of a gray car that I assumed to be Jake's.

"GET A ROOM!" Rich yelled playfully, and I broke away from our kiss. Jeremy blushed profusely, which was cuter than I'd imagined.

Our friends walked up the small stairs to my entryway, smiling. Jenna fished out a five dollar bill from her Vera Bradley lanyard and handed it to Christine. "Love you honey~" Christine chirped to Jenna.

"OTP. Anyway, what've you got to eat, Mich? I could really go for a Poptart. Or maybe Pizza Rolls?" Jake asked, and got murmurs of agreement when he said Pizza Rolls, so I walked over to our freezer and found the bag of Pizza Rolls.

"Do you need help, Micha?" Jeremy said sweetly from the entrance to the kitchen. At this point, the rest of our friends had retreated downstairs to probably play MarioKart on our Nintendo Switch.

"Sure Jerrikins." I said, giggling for the first time in months. Jeremy moved to the oven and preheated it.

"Well what do we do while it heats up?" He asked me.

I arched an eyebrow. "That thing we did in the doorway was quite nice," I said, inching toward him.

"That might be-pretty-" he said, locking eyes with me, and grabbing my waist.

Before I knew it, we were having a full-on make out session. Also, we forgot about the oven, so when its timer went off to notify us of the oven being ready, we didn't hear. Eventually, Rich came in, noticeably disheveled.

"Yo! Jake! They're doing what we just were!" Rich called, grinning at his joke.

He pulled away from me, his face heating up. "We really need to get better timing."

Christine and Jenna came upstairs into the kitchen, also disheveled, except Jenna had Christine's pale pink lipstick on her face. "Pizza Rolls?" They said hungrily.

"Putting them in now," Jake said, pushing a tray of Rolls into our oven.

"YEET!" I yelled louder than I meant to.

*yet another timeskip brought to you by Christine's lipstick*

  Jeremy's PoV:

"Bye guys!" Michael and I had decided we needed time alone, so after the rest of our friends left, we went into Michael's basement.

"Jeremy, will you be my Boyf?"

"Only if you'll be my riend!" I said lovingly to my boyfriend.

He kissed me sweetly, then pulled away. "I love you, Jeremy Queer."

"Michael, I love you." I sang in the same tune as Christine sang to me at the play, but this time, I really meant it.
